Description of Work: I needed work done at my house, I read the reviews for Guin and decided that they sounded pretty reliable, I gave them a call and sent an email requesting a quote, I never got a response from the email and when I called the man that answered said he would have a plumber call me back with info, needless to say I never heard from anyone

Description of Work: The best, on a sunday no less. Knowledgeable, professional, honest and prompt. My 84 yo Mom kissed the guy for petes sake. There's a reason these folks have been around so long they do a great job at afir price and know how the treat a customer. Well done Mr Guin & Co.

Description of Work: Our AC unit 'died' 7/30 in the afternoon...it was hot outside and inside. Called Guin and Tommy came out that afternoon and checked out the unit and then for leaks as the freon was 'gone'. He found the leak in the unit outside and showed it to me and then said that because of its location he was unable to solder it and that I was looking at a new unit and gave me his recommendation. Monday Vince and Nick (helper) came out and installed a new unit for me. Installation went very well. We did have a problem in that the unit did not seem to be able to keep the temperature we had it set on until well into the evening. A subsequent call had Tommy and Keith out on 8/09. They found a problem that they fixed and the unit is performing well now. This company is well worth looking at if you have AC problems. I feel Tommy, Keith and Vince to be 'top notch' folks who give you straight answers and work to fix any complaints that you may have. I've been using them for 10 years plus now.

Description of Work: Air conditioner stopped cooling and blowing air about 4pm on a Friday. I called GUIN and they sent a technician out the next morning. He spent about an hour diagnosing the problem and calling their Trane tech support rep. The motor and electronic fan control unit needed to be replaced. The technician said he wouldn't be able to get the parts until Monday morning but he thought they would be covered by warranty. He called me about 11am Monday and came back to do the repair an hour later. It took about an hour and a half to replace the motor. Very good experience, the technician did exactly what he said he was going to do and kept me informed the entire time. He didn't try to up-sell me or sell me a service plan either! The price was a little high but it took two trips and several hours to diagnose and replace, got the parts covered under warranty though!

Description of Work: I'm very embarrassed because I can't remember the Plumber and his son's name that came to our home, but they were so very efficient and polite. They were called because we had a water overflow from a drainage pipe in our basement. After thoroughly checking the situation, my husband and I we told that there really wasn't anything to 'fix' because the problem wasn't the "plumbing" but rather because I was using too much detergent in my washing machine. The advise was right, I haven't had the problem since. Thanks so much. If we ever need a plumber again, Guin will be the one we call.

Description of Work: We had water leaking through our ceiling. The technician was able to identify the problem, very well-educated! He made a small access panel in our linen closet and used a camera. He noticed that water was coming through the handles in our bathroom, and explained exactly what needed to be done. (As opposed to the last company we used who cut 4 holes in our freshly dry-walled ceiling!) Our technician was so wonderful! We will be using them for all our plumbing needs! Thanks!!

Description of Work: I used Guin Service to turn off the humidifier.

Description of Work: Hard water caused pinholes in copper pipes. Contractor had to shut off water and repair/solder holes.

Description of Work: Called the firm for sewage backing up in shower and toilet. Plumber responded promptly. When he got there the drain was flowing normally. He checked everything, and said it appeared that tenants were putting food down the drain, causing a clog. THERE WAS NO CHARGE FOR THE TRIP!

Description of Work: The servicemen came the day after I called and were very professional and fixed my 2 toilet problems in an hours time. I would use them again and recommend them to others.
