Not knowing who else to call, I called this company, spoke with a very friendly person who sent someone over to give a quote. The person arrived about an hour later and gave me some options for the tree removal. The price was $175 to chip the entire tree. $225 if they were to clean off the branches and limbs, and cut the trunk into lengths for firewood. The lengths are the entire trunk, not split into actual firewood pieces. I took a few days to think about it.
I called to set up the work. Again, a friendly and efficient person helped me out. The crew arrived on time and did the work as paid for. I would definitely use this company again. I don't know how their pricing compares to other companies since I did not get any other quotes. My only complaint was the massive amounts of sawdust that was left behind. Of course most of it was under the cut sections of tree trunk that were left for me to haul to the back yard to give it time to season. But I would have liked them to rake up and remove the sawdust with the branches and other debris.
