Excellent bid procedure. Top knotch installation of tree lighting. They know what they're doing.

The tree was cut down satisfactorily. However, I was specific that I needed to know when they were coming to do the work so I could notify renters (I don't live in the area); it wasn't until I got a call from the neighbor - "hey, can I have the wood?" that I knew it happened. I called and complained and was assured they would notify me, in the spring, when they would come and grind the stump (recommending not doing it after snow). You got it, they came and ground out the stump, after snow, without notifying me. I had no idea they ground out the stump and after getting the bill, only paid for the tree cut. They sent me a balance due notice - now, it's either pay-up or collections. Gage assures me they will come back if not satisfied in the spring. I do not recommend this business.

I'd give them an "A" for all the categories. They always do a great job. Whomever they sent to do the trimming of that same special tree did an excellent job. They knew exactly what they were doing.

I would give them an "A" overall, we've use them in the past and they've always been good. For price they are all about the same up here for what we needed. Quality, definitely an "A". Punctuality, they were here on time. They usually, always send someone that knows just what the job is supposed to be. I had a special tree to be trimmed, you couldn't just go and cut it, you need to know what you are doing because the way it grows. They did a good job on it and it looks good. They always clean up very well, always are polite. They are responsive and answers all my questions. We've used them in the past and we'd use them again.

Prompt and professional, reasonably priced

We have used Gage for two years now. The first year we called for information and for our pest problem couldn't get service until the trees had leaves at a certain size. They called us to schedule the appointment when the local birch trees were at that size without us having to call them back. The next year they called us to see if we wanted the service again and we didn't need to schedule anything they automatically came out did what they needed to do an billed us. We will be using them again this coming year.

Called me before coming out to make sure I was home. Did a great job cleaned up the area when they where done.

Mike was excellent in determining what needed to be done to the trees in order to keep them in good health. I had one tree that was split down the middle & the neighborhood kids kept climbing it. It was best to take the tree down but I wanted to save the tree next to it that the branches were all tangled up in. I also had a tree go down that needed the stump ground down to grass level, a few trees impinging on the roof, and a lilac tree that needed pruning. The guys came out and did a fantastic job of taking the tree down without damaging the other. The wood and shavings were cleaned up in both grinding locations and the lilac tree looked fantastic. I called Mike because the saved tree was looking a bit scraggly so I wanted to know if they could clean it up to give it the best chance of surviving. When he came out to take a look at it, he said they should have cleaned it up at the time and offered to take care of it but then he noticed the trees over the house had not been cleared either. So the very next day they were out taking care of all the work and as usual, left the place looking great. I would have never noticed the trees over the house not being taken care of so I appreciated that fact that Mike not only noticed but said something about it and fixed the problem. I have used Gage Tree Service three times now and will continue to use them to help me keep my lovely old, tall trees growing healthy.

I picked them out of the newspaper and I was very, very extremely disappointed in what they did and I think they actually did more harm than good. It was a local company that advertises in the paper a lot. I wish I never heard of them. They just did a terrible job. I still can hardly look at my trees without feeling a pang of pain. I gave very specific instructions as to what to trim and where, and what to leave alone. They proceeded to hack up some trees I told them to leave alone. They removed some big bushes from my yard without any instructions to remove anything. For trees that they were supposed to trim on, they just hacked them up and left just ugly misshapen trees. It's going to take years for our trees to recover from what they did. It was awful. I was there to supervise when they got there in the morning about 9 o'clock. They were going on doing their work and I was checking occasionally, and it was all fine. I had a doctor's appointment that took me away from the house for an hour, and when I got back, they were gone and the trees were hacked up terribly. That was a really bad experience. What stood up the most was when the workers were left alone, they just hacked away very unprofessionally. Any idiot can come in and just hack up a bunch of big branches off of trees and then leave. These guys were supposed to be experts in working under the supervision of a person who is a representative. Being a forester-type person who is supposed to know a lot about trees or the trimming, it was nonexistent. When I complained, the original fellow who had looked at the job came out and he was apologetic that they have overdone it. There was a tree at the front of my house with branches rubbing against the structure and he told me he would send somebody out to take care of the tree in the front. They would just come out and just trim it lightly away from the structure, and they never came out at all. These guys hacked up my yard trees. I have 2 lilac plants out in the backyard and they were still in their dormant state and they cut them off of the ground. They just took them out. I've been in this house for 35 years and some of these trees I planted 25 or 30 years ago and nurtured them and trained them so they could grow like I wanted them, and these guys came in and literally, I don't have another 20 years to let them grow back. I have 2 kids but they are in their 20's now. From the very beginning, I trained these trees to be easy for a kid to climb. Climbing trees is just part of being with nature. I have branches that I trimmed 25 years ago which could be climbing branches and they just cut them off. I actually pointed out to the guy who did the job that I just wanted the branches that are touching the house, and so on. They cut off branches 10 feet away literally from touching the house. It was really terrible. It was quite traumatic for me. It made me mad to think about it again. I would use them again only if I had a hungry lion loose in my backyard. I wouldn't touch these guys at all. It was a disgraceful job. They were doing everything fine while I was here, and then I went off to the doctor's office. I was gone no more than an hour and a half, and when I returned, they were gone and all damage was done in that hour and a half period.

It went fantastic! They were very professional and helpful! Micheal worked with us about what exactly we wanted and how our yard would look afterwards.

They are friendly, they come and figure out what you need and they give you more. I have a slope in the back yard and they hand seeded it so that it would look great.

.They were very careful not to damage surrounding trees, carted off the debris, We were only wanting a 4 ft clearance around the circumference of the back yard to have room for equipment to have access for a fence installation.They were prompt and professional, marked only the trees that were in the way, carefully removed the trees and cleaned up the debris. This was the third time we have used this company and would use them again.

My mother used Gage many times and when she passed away and I inherited the house I wanted to continue the relationship because I was not only impressed with the work they did for her, I was also very impressed with the way the guys all treated her with great respect and politeness. The back yard drops off in a steep slope which I cannot negotiate any more, and there was a huge, overgrown cluster of Mayday trees that had been trimmed back many times but kept growing up into the electric line, plus there were many 'self planted' tree saplings growing all over. I called Gage to schedule an estimate and as usual Mike was right out the next afternoon to see what I needed done. Mike always treats you like family and always takes time to 'visit' with you. This time he took the time to get friendly with my uber sensitive cat even after she hissed and bit at him! He was persistent and she was forgiving and finally allowed him to pet her, that makes him pretty great in my book! He also takes time to reminisce about mom which I appreciate. There has never been a problem with them showing up when they said they would but somehow the scheduling got messed-up so the work actually happened a week later than I expected but it wasn't a big deal. I was at work when they came but I checked in with my neighbor when I got home and found out as usual they got right to it and did a fantastic job taking everything down that I had asked for and left everything clean and tidy. I was sorry I couldn't bet there, the crew is such a joy to be around. They love their jobs and it shows, and they are always so happy and easy going it's just fun to be around them!

Once they finally got here they did fine. However, they did not come when they said they would and the branches were on our lawn for almost 2 weeks until they came. They said they would be there sooner but then when they didn't show up we would call and they would tell us they would be there another day.

The guys at Gage were great from the original estimate and throughout the removal process. We were clearing a large amount of very tall, mature trees around our house and property, trimming up trees that had dense growth around the bottoms and removing limbs around power lines. The 1st day of the project was very cold and wet, but the guys arrived on time and got right to work. We were amazed at the efficient progress and professional manner that they took down the trees. I was nervous before they came that some of the trees were very tall and close to the house, but the team from Gage took them out with ease. The took great care to clean up after themselves and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the work done. There was even some confusion around which trees were flagged, but Gage was wonderful in helping us to get the trees removed that we needed gone. We are so please with the results. The property looks beautiful and still natural. Great company.

Gage Tree Service do a good job. They've done work for us before. They're really reliable and real responsive. We had a bad storm that brought some trees down around here. They could have upped their prices, but they didn't. They do high quality work and are wonderful.

They did a great job. It went fine. They did what my husband asked them to do. They follow instructions. They do just about anything you have to do with trees like the removal. I would trust them to do any job when it comes to trees. I'll absolutely use them in the future.

GAGE TREE SERVICE felled about 10-12 trees, and shredded several tree roots along our driveway and near our home. They also used special equipment to grind the roots of several trees to make sure they didn't grow back. All branches, wood pulp, and roots were cut to pulp and hauled away when the job was complete An underground cable was accidentally severed while shredding tree roots. However, a Gage employee returned quickly to resolve the issue. The crew was efficient and professional at all times. The tree clearing went well, and was completed ahead of schedule.

They are outstanding. I last used them 4 years ago, but I have called them, and they will be coming back. He came, and he charged me for the big tree, and the little ones were inexpensive.I have recommended them several times.

This service provides snowblowing service for driveways in the winter. Since there is little room to plow snow effectively from a driveway in my subdivision, the snowblowing was great. I called for an estimate and within a couple of days a representative was there. Very personable, knowledgeable about what the company offered. Advised that once work was settled for the season that it would be after the inches we agreed on had fallen, and be around the same time of day. The workers were personable also, efficient, neat & reliable. Most of the time I was able to move my 2nd vehicle out of the way because I knew about what time they would be there. If not, they shoveled the snow away from the 2nd vehicle to blow it out of the way. Price was competitive. Billing on time and accurate. I will most definitely use this service each winter they are in business and offer the snowblowing feature.

Just a frustrating experience when we wanted prompt service.

I called rather late in the season but they were able to set a time to install within 2 weeks. They came on the date promised and completed the installation. I have a 3 story house so this was not an easy install. There were a few bulbs that burned out and a couple of times a whole string failed over the 3 months the lights were up, but they always responded within the day to fix it, whether I left a voice message or got a person on the phone. Removal was at my timing and went smoothly. The price is a bit high, but they provided evidence of insurance and were very professional and responsive. I will use them again for Xmas lights and would consider them if I need tree service.

I knew it was a holiday, so I expected a call in the morning of the next business day. I called them late that day and the person said she remembered hearing the message early in the day and would have someone contact me to set up a site visit. They were unresponsive and never contacted me.

Paul from Gage responded quickly and was early. He provided us with a good quote for our very large spruce tree in the front yard. While it was just a little too high for us as we waited too long to contact them to make it worthwhile, I will definitely call them next year - earlier and have them come out to decorate the tree. Professional and timely.
