Description of Work: They offered us an untested heater made in Canada with no local experience. They gave us a lower price, Central plumbing has an excellent reputation but we were replacing a foreign made heater by Axia installed by a local company with a good reputation, Alkota plumbing. We had trouble from the very start with the Axia heater. Neither Alkota, the product rep and supplier, nor the manufacturer would fix the heater to supply hot water to our shower. We spent a minimum of a thousand dollars every year just to have heat and unreliable hot water. We were reluctant to be the first to install an untested heater in Alaska.

Description of Work: Had a drain replaced, toilet installed, and vanity/sink hooked up. Everything went fine except for the vanity/sink. It kept leaking and required 3 different plumbers to come out to finally get it right. However, the company was always very responsive and did not charge me anything extra for the additional trips. No project is without complications but how the company deals with them is what sets them apart from others. Central handled the complications very professionally and always with the customer's satisfaction in mind. I would use them again.

Description of Work: Installed PEX to outside and backflow preventer to serve sprinkler. I used Central because of their reputation. The backflow preventer was $715, expensive, but reasonable i guess. The labor was about $1000. I felt this should have been at least $500 less. I m

+ 0 moreI called Central Plumbing to set up an appointment. They said they'd call to let me know when they'd be at my house. About an hour later I got a call that they were on their way. The plumber diagnosed the problem with the shower, fixed it. He also checked my furnance, cleaned the electronic air filters, etc.
Description of Work: No hot water in the shower but hot water available in the bathroom and kitchen and hot water available in the other bathroom shower.

+ -1 moreI like them because they have very good staff that is very productive. They charge by the hour, but they work very fast. The guy, who came out, was very busy with the work. He cleaned up a lot of little messes around my house. There were little problems with the heating systems and he fixed them. So, it was a very positive experience. He charged me $1,400 for the service; it was a little expensive. I will absolutely use this company in the future.

They're knowledgeable, provide good service, and are interested in saving me money (ex: a salesperson showed me how I could fix my faucet w/o buying the piece I thought I needed.) + 0 moreI have been using them for the past 30 years. They do a very good job. They are not cheap but they do good work. It took them 2 hours to fix the kitchen closet. The pricing was fair but a little higher than other places. They are reliable. They come at the right time whenever they are supposed come. They call before the come to my street so that I can be ready for them. Since I am a regular customer they bill me after the work has been done and I do not have to give them the money right up front unless I want to. They bill me once a month. The people who perform the work are courteous and clean. They put the covers over their shoes when they come in during winter time and do not mess up my carpet. I choose the material and accessories I want them to install. They guarantee their work. I love their punctuality. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Central Plumbing & Heating INC to replace the washer under the kitchen sink as there was a leakage in the closet. They also come every year and service my furnace. They fix all kinds of things in my house.
