They are very polite. They take care of your home. They are very careful to not get dirt and such in it. If they are lacking a part, they make a call and someone drives it over, so there is no need for a return service necessary for something like that. They are kind of spendy, but they are worth it. They are on my call list.

We've been using Central Plumbing for years and not only in our own home, but on multiple rentals that we have. I've never had to call them back. They are the most expensive in town, but to my mind they're worth every penny.

I called regarding a kitchen sink drain clog and the receptionist referred me to Alaska Drain and Sewer because it would be less expensive and faster to have AD&S clear the clog. I really appreciate this level of honesty. Additionally, I spent another 5 or so minutes discussing planned repairs to a faulty water shut-off valve for my house and the receptionist was both knowledgeable and helpful in determining a good course of action for repairs.

Poorly, did not do job correctly first time took 2 days to come back and charged us to fix what they did not do the first time

They were very responsive and fixed my furnace issue quickly and at a reasonable able cost.

Great Alaskan Company. Have been going there for years and they never disappoint.

They diagnosed them well and we were pleased. He was informative and helpful in helping us save money instead of spending money.

It was a couple of hundred bucks. They did the job. It stays fixed.

Quick service, personal help on phone before they arrived was great. Heat was back on line very fast and worker cleaned up work area. I have used Central plumbing exclusively for years. They are a little more expensive but you get it back in the service and follow-up.

Good overall. Very skilled plumbers - however, it seems the dispatch service overbooks the plumbers and they function as best as they can given the constraints. Advice: book early in the day - our experience on 2 occasions is that plumbers are overbooked - if you schedule in the afternoon the plumber will probably arrive late and will need to hurry to leave close to 5. If they leave after 5 you may be asked to pay overtime or to pay for someone to come on another day if the job wasn't finished.

Completely over priced. 25% over 7 other bids for Boiler and hot water system. Very slow to respond to bid request.

Our gas fireplace, which Central had installed about 6 years ago, wouldn't stay lit. Called Central and they sent a technician right over. He ran a complete diag. and replaced a bad switch. It works fine now.

When I called I asked for a plumber, not a handyman. The only and quot;real plumberand quot; on offer was an individual who mostly did estimates [Note to self...]. He came at the appointed time and worked steadily if slowly, with me running out for necessary small parts (I supplied new faucets). The 53-yo plumbing on a wall-mounted basin was challenging (Sawsall, etc.) and accounted for the most time. The other changeout was a straightforward, if not the most convenient, modern freestanding pedestal/basin setup. He put a 3/16and quot;-wide nick in that basin, probably wrench contact, that has blossomed into a spider web of cracks over the last couple years. HE DIDN'T OWN UP TO HAVING DAMAGED THE BASIN, and I did not notice the nick for a few hours. Because I couldn't prove that he damaged the basin I didn't try to argue about it and possibly incur an additional $350 to buy and change out another basin/faucet. [Another note to self: take dated baseline photo of appliances before plumber comes.] He wanted to charge me $740 but we settled on $686 ($92 parts and 4.75 hrs labor w/senior discount). Both new faucets have performed well for 3 years. I've occasionally used this provider in the past but probably would seek another because of the damage incident (professionalism), and on a previous project -- no up-front advice that Central charges a standard travel time that doesn't account for my relatively close proximity to the store. UPDATE/CORRECTION 8/4/13: SINCEREST APOLOGIES TO CENTRAL PLUMBING and HEATING -- the subject service was indeed provided by Anchorage Plumbing and Heating.

The job was done quickly and efficiently with no problems. I was informed when I made an appointment that the hourly rate was $145. However, I was not informed that the hourly rate was NOT prorated. Therefore, I paid from the time I got the call stating the repair driver was on the way until the work was done (30 minutes).To replace the $7.50 part, it cost $152.50 because I had to pay for 1 hour of labor not 30 minutes of labor. There was no time given when I made the appointment, only sometime during the day. The job was done about in the AM which was not too bad.

Very bad service and cheating my time not polie and very expensive. I don't know how they can stay business I count my time from my phone when they charged completed difference. I used them second they always cheating my time . Event ought manager now still have proble I have to find other company and fix. That very experience for me. Please do not trust this company

We had a gas line begin leaking indicated by the smell -- The gas company came out right away to test the system. They shut off the gas until the line could be repaired. Central Plumbing was able to get the job done quickly and efficiently as they replaced the line and connectors. Oh, the temperature was below zero. We had to use electric heaters to keep pipes from freezing while there was no gas available. I was hoping they could come as soon as we called, but because of other emergencies in town during the cold spell they were not able to come until the next day. Because we had other heat sources available, we were not in a major emergency --although we are not looking forward to getting our next electric bill. Central Plumbing had a very knowledgeable man come over to replace the line and get the heat back on -- the total job took about 2.5 hrs. One of the things I definitely appreciated besides the professionalism of the man doing the work was the fact that he had all the necessary equipment needed to complete the job. It is very frustrating when someone needs to return to the shop for supplies before finishing. We still need to bury the line, but that will be done in the summer when the ground is not frozen. I highly recommend Central Plumbing and will call them again for plumbing/heating needs. The price seemed reasonable. Approx $650 for parts and $350 for labor.

They sent some guy changed disposer and after the day fix water was leaking I called them again and he said it not warrantee because some piping was wrong before. But before the water not leaking on the piping (this piping is concecting with disposer) after he changed then it problem. I called them again and they said that have to charge again they not responsibility. Finally we agree they not charge for travel time then it mean when they get to my house and we start count time until finished ( they charge $145/1hr not in could travel time). When they came I count my time from my IPhone and it was 58 mins but unbeliverable when I got the bill they charge me 2.45hr and he deduct travel time 45 mins it mean he will charge me 2 hr I asked him how come 1 more hr I'm not pay anything and the guy behave me shut the door to my face. After that I talked to his manger they try to charge more 15 mins you see even thought the manger I totally don't understand how they can stay business not responsibility, not honest, not polie,sly and chatting time. I know them office if drive take about 15 mins to get my home. You see anything unaccepted and I'm not use service any more and I need to share my bad experience. I hope they will run out business soon. if someone will use service this company have to be think again and again or it better not use them.

It was raining in my downstairs closet so I called Central Plumbing and Heating to come fix whatever was causing the leak. I was lucky someone was available immediately. He came out to the house and cut away a portion of the ceiling in the closet and found a pipe spraying straight up from a pin hole in the copper. He then shut off the water and cut the damaged pipe away and replaced it with a new blue PVC pipe that will not leak due to electrolysis. He turned on the water to ensure that the leak is no longer there and then packed up his belongings. The technician was fast, efficient, and friendly. I will definately call this company again should something else go wrong with my plumbing. (Hopefully it won't happen again.)

I have used Central Plumbing and Heating for over 25 years. They are honest, experienced, efficient and dependable. I have had them do everything from furnace maintenance to major plumbing repairs. They always tell me when something is a problem and needs to be fixed right away or if I can wait a while to do the repairs. They arrive when promised and are always courteous and knowledgeable. I have never had to call them back to fix anything. Once they have fixed it, it stays fixed!

They are the best company in town. I've used them for 10 years now. Other companies in my area are not as efficient or honest compared to them.

They're reliable. They've been in this kind of business for a long time and they're one of the biggest plumbers in the area.

They were good. They got here quickly and fixed the problem. My mom was the one who dealt with them more than I did. I would probably want to call around for better prices before I use them again in the future.
