Wrought Iron Fence Repair in Columbus

It was a short fence, but they had to scrape off paint. It is real smooth. They put several coats of primer on there. They really made the fence look new. I live in a very old neighborhood, and there was a lot of rust on it. My interactions with them were excellent. The work turned out excellent. He was easy to get a hold of on the phone. If it rains, he'll call and say he can't be there today because of the rain, but he'll be there in the morning, and he is. I would absolutely use him againshow more

They were late because they went to the wrong street. Otherwise, they were very nice and did an excellent job. We found an old decorative gate from them for $50, and then they installed it. Fortin Welding and Ironworks Inc. in Columbus, Ohio. He is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. I've used them on two separate occasions, the later was November of 2012. It cost $14,000. German Village Commission, you can't go to Lowes and get your fencing got to get it from Fortin Iron Works. But they knew all of the ins and outs, they work almost exclusively in this neighborhood. The whole neighborhood is on medium, it's historic places. So everything has to go through the German Village Commission. You can't get a mailbox on your house with out it. I'm not making this up. You have to go and sit in front of this commission with all your stuff and they make decisions and tell you no. It's something I didn't know. I didn't know when we bought the house three years ago, had I known I probably would have made a different choice. Fortin Iron Works is a class act, completely entirely. I liked the quality of the craftsmanship. There is nobody that does the wrought iron design and execution the way that they do. They are above and beyond anyone I have every worked with. They were just A plus. They really know their business. They have been into this like 130 years or so. Which is what make them the choice of the German Village to do the work in the neighborhood. But again, everything, the look and feel of the fence. They helped me every step of the way. It was a blessing. It cost a lot of money it was a blessing, it's beautiful. In the back of the house where I thought we were going to put the fence in the back, they gave me an alternative plan they acutally put it along the edge of the patio that saved me $9,000 on the back fences. Their suggestion saved me $9,000. They didn't want to be digging holes in the landscaping, they're not landscapers, but the way that they suggested I do it was to actually drill holes into the edge of the patio and actually seat it on the edge of the patio and that is exactly what I did in the back and it saved me a huge amount of money and it was exactly what I neededshow more

I called and said I need the exterior of my business painted which is approximately an 1800 square foot house that was converted to a business and some wrought iron fencing. They couldn't come out for a week which was okay. They came out and we did a walk through of entire project. I received the estimate the following day. $22125.00 to paint a building?????? We've used Fortin in the past to install a fence and gate in our driveway, so we knew the right choice was Fortin again when we needed railings and another gate installed. I was having a custom patio put in, and the contractor did not handle railings. He would install one that I bought. I had seen Fortin's before and decided to call. I explained my situation and lack of knowledge on how to go about purchasing a railing for steps that had not even been built yet. I was worried about codes and wanted to have the railing before the contractor was done with his work and on to another project. The person taking my call was so helpful! She even suggested I stop in to look at their scrap railing to save me money. This company did an excellent job. Michael was prompt and gave me a fair estimate for front porch railings of my Westerville Cape Cod home. He was professional and he really knows his trade. He was very conscientious and even met with me before the fabricating of my railings was complete to make sure I was in agreement with exactly how they were going to be installed. His railings are top of the line and do not rust. He does not just bolt them into the cement, but he uses a procedure to actually implant them into the cement porch and he came over yet again to sand everything down to even level. My home is transformed and my neighbors and others are amazed at the quality work that was done. I have no connection to this company and this is the first time I have used it, so I have no other motives when I say this company did an excellent job for a fair price and Michael (who I dealt with) was professional in every sense.
