We are working with SIMES LANDSCAPE INC to come up with a landscaping plan for our new house. They have presented a preliminary plan that meets all of our needs. We have had two meetings so far and they have been on time each meeting and have been very flexible on when they could meet with us. Price seems fair for the work that will be done and compared to what others have presented. We are still reviewing other service providers to determine bang for the buck. If we do select this provider I will post a review of the workshow more

They did the work a little over a week after they originally said they were going to, but I don't hold that against them because there was about a week of pouring rain during which I'm sure they couldn't do any work. Also, they were pretty good about updating us on the expected delay. When they did come out, they were efficient and professional, and I am happy with the work they didshow more

Sam and his crew were professional, courteous and very hard working. They completed the job in a day and even put dirt down using extra sod, from what was removed for the patio, to fill a couple of holes in the turf. Sam provided several samples of paver options within my budget, listened to me, offered good advice and was very prompt in sending the job estimate. I would most definitely use them again and would recommend them to any friendsshow more

They have serviced our property several times with different types of service starting in March 2010 through October. One time they took down a dead tree, did spring and fall cleanup and lawn fertilization. They did an excellent job and we receive many compliments on our property. Their foreman, Keith, is a pleasure to work with. They do an excellent job but we are a little concerned with the price. We are surprised at the cost for the size of the lot but we are not sure how their prices compare but they couldn't have done a better job. We just would have liked it to be cheapershow more

Our experience with them was great. The owner came out. We had a few other folks out, and he walked us through. He was really responsive to our needs in terms of price and what we wanted to accomplish. He did not try to over sell or take advantage of our situation. He worked out a plan to do a landscaping in the front and rear of our home. He was able to reuse some existing plants and stones. He really delivered quality products for us at a great price. We were really happy and we would us him again sometime. He was really great. We actually recommended him to friends and we kind of kept him on our list of folks to use going forwardshow more

We have been pleased with all the work done by Pony. We purchased a house 4 years ago and the front beds were landscaped with river rock. We had Pony remove the rock and replace with mulch. We were pleased with the work. The back yard was not landscaped and 2 years ago we had Pony create large beds in the backyard. They pulled up turf, amended the soil and mulched the beds. For the new beds we purchased plants from Oakland and had Pony plant everything but the tree's. Pony does the front and back bed refresh as required by the home association every year. I have Pony mow several times a year when I cant manage it. We are pleased with their work and professionalism and will continue using them in the futureshow more

Excellent job up to the point of seeding. I wish I'd would not have listened to Warner, who stated he can match the side and back yards so"you won't be able to tell the difference". He said he'll use Penn seed( grass seed encased in a cellulose coating that will retain water for faster germination and no straw or covering needed). Long story short, he used the wrong type of seed when applying application and also had all of the seed along the outer edges and little or none in the center of yard. (see photos) First picture shows type of match I was after, all other pictures show what I got instead. I should have not paid the bill in full, as Warner and Oakland Park Nursery will not return any calls or emails. They did a great job and managed to totally ruin the final stage of the job. After a season of keeping up the landscape, I was ready to give this job up. And I was tired of paying multiple bills for various services. Received several bids on "full service" residential lawn/landscape service including spring clean and irrigation maintenance. Dave from Peabody very timely in his responses, and competitive with bid vs. other reputable providers. Everything nice and itemized, and flexible to tweak a la carte. Once signed, the grounds team was very fast to get scheduled and work was very clean. Impossible to get everything on the first go-round when you aren't living there, but the fore-woman Jammi, was very open to feedback and quick to touch things up. She is also very knowledgable on her plants! Turf crew has mowed appropriately, not excessively, and very tidy. Dave continues to impress with periodic checks and professional interactions. If you are looking for cruise control/ "one stop shop", Peabody is definitely a great providershow more

Mowing was done as expected. Treatment only took place twice. Beds were mulched and cut as expected. Clean-ups were done after many calls asking for service. Since treatments were not done yard looks much worse than it started in the spring. This is the second year we have used the company and will be the last. We now have a large area in the front of the house that s dead along with several areas in the back yard that appear to be dying also. We have made several attempts to contact the company but they have seen fit to return our emails. We made the mistake of paying for the season upfront. It now appears that we are out the cost of the treatments that haven't been done, plus the loss of turf front and back. Curb appeal is very bad due to their lack of care and not completing the contract. I would not recommend them to anyoneshow more

On that basis we wrote a positive review of Terra dated 1/13/2014. Unfortunately, the nice appearance of our lawn did not last and the review of Terra needs to be drastically revised. At the time we stopped communicating with them (in late 2014) we had replaced at least once many of the plants they provided and in some cases had done so multiple times. After the first replacement at their expense and following some very disappointing discussions described below, we took on the replacements at our own expense. The attached picture(s) show our front yard as it currently exists. But, that is only part of the story. When we began this process, the area next to the house was provided with new topsoil and a variety of plants were installed with the expectation that they would spread and fill the space over time. Instead of spreading, many have barely survived and have been replaced (including a ?Red Dragon? Cutleaf Japanese Maple replaced twice ? once at their expense and once at ours). Subsequent soil testing by OSU revealed no unusual soil conditions in the yard. More discouraging, however, was the replacement of our lawn with new sod. All old grass was removed, and Terra obtained sod from Columbus Turf Nursery and installed it in two areas of our front yard. Despite contracting with a lawncare service as part of the project, the sod began to die in spots. Within a short period of time we realized that the sod had been installed with a plastic mesh backing that was beginning to be exposed through the dead grass in several places. When the lawn was raked, the mesh would catch in the rake and pull up what little was left of the dead or dying sod in these spots. When we asked Terra about this, they suggested we buy a leaf blower instead of raking. As the dead spots in the lawn increased, we asked Terra to inspect the areas and determine what should be done. In the process, they sent a representative from Columbus Turf. His conversation with us was so appalling that my husband literally had to walk away from the discussion. In essence, the representative said that our lawn was like a dying baby in the hospital nursery, a case of ?failure to thrive?. At that point my husband and I agreed that we were done with Terra and would do whatever remedial work was required on our own. We have waited some time to write this because we were not sure how to tell this story without ranting. We hope this description is of help to those considering either of these two companiesshow more

Everything went very well. It took quite a bit longer for the project to get started after the initial estimate as preceding projects ran into delays; however, once he started, it took only 2.5 weeks to complete. He is a very hard and very fast worker, but still pays attention to the important details. Most of the work was done during the day while our family was away at work or school. Our neighbors kept telling us that they have never seen a person work so hard. We have been getting many compliments on the end result. We love our new patio and walkway, plus it is reassuring to know that the gutters and downspouts are draining to the street. He could be a little faster responding to emails, but I know that he is pretty much a one man operation. I liked the fact that every detail was directly communicated to the business owner, and that he was directly responsible for implementing the plan, which made it easier to make small last minute adjustments and fine tune the detailsshow more

I ended up firing them because they did a lousy job. I would not recommend anyone to use them. They decided to plant grass seed on July 1st and we were out of town. They did okay on the beds but the new beds that they were supposed to dig, were not defined. They started to install the turf and that’s when I told them that they needed to go because the base of the ground area was not adequately leveled and graded away from. So there were literally puddles all over the place. There were a couple of paper patios that they were supposed to install on the outside of the gate which they decided to seed the grass before they did those, and I’m not sure why. They used cheap plant material. I had them put plants along the outside of the fence and about half of them along the back of the fence were dead. They were dead when they installed them and so I told them that I wanted them replaced. They kept telling me that they would get through it but they never did it. They used cheap spirella and some kind of purple plants that quite honestly were very ugly. I definitely would not use them again. Their price was average. We tried to resolve the problem but I don’t want them on my property again. I don’t want to deal with them anymoreshow more
