What a great company to work with. Very professional. Not pushy. Took time to walk the yard to find the right piece of stone. Good selection to choose from; better than many places we previously looked. We had checked with several other stone companies for a bathroom counter in a remodel. Salesperson showed up at appointed time lugging case of samples. Explained product and advantages over granite countertops, primarily ease of installation. We were impressed by professionalism of salesperson and product. She explained that the cost for this product was more comparable to quartz countertops. Ulimately we decided on real granite. The installation was perfect. The other Angie's List-ed vendor we contacted, not only gave us a higher price, but, incredibly, wanted us to contract with another company to remove and haul off the laminate. They didn't even suggest anyone to do that. Corner Stone gave us a lower price for an essentially-identical product, and it INCLUDED removal of the old countertop, so final cost was much lower. From initial onset, Walter and his guys were extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. It is clear they have your best interest in mind and you can tell that with every person you meet from this company. We did have a bit of a set back when we picked out the stone from the supplier in that the second stone had a crack that neither of us knew about. When we went to look at the stone and noticed it, we called Walter right away and he said he would meet us right away at the stone yard (this was on a Saturday)! Given that the stone we picked was extremely expensive (one of the most expensive in the lot), he carefully measured and found it that it would not fit for our project so he worked with the supplier and got us a new slab. When planning the layout on the stone, Walter's expertise was invaluable and he helped us to determine the best piece for our island and surrounding pieces. We also had a bit of a setback regarding our bathroom counter installation and Walter was more than willing to accommodate our schedule and actually agreed to install our kitchen counters and then have his guys come back to install the bathroom at a later date! Walter was always available, extremely responsive and very accommodating. If I had one small gripe, it was that his guys were a bit late getting to the job both times, but they called each time and they stayed until about 8pm one night and 5 another night just so they could get the job done. One of the installers actually came back in his own car to finish since he did not want to leave the job unfinished. These guys pride themselves in the work they do and I would highly recommend them if you are in the market for new countertops. Go visit them and talk to Walter. I called distinctive marble and granite when i was looking to have a new stone countertop installed in my kitchen. i had orginally wanted quartz and they had many selections avaiiable. The price was competitive with other companies as i priced it via email at several companies. i worked with nathan and he was friendly and professional. very helpful in selecting the product and always returned my phone calls. I ended up changing my mind about the stone i wanted to use several times before i placed my order but nathan was patient and helpful while i decided. I finally choose granite and was involved in selecting the cut areas.. The countertop was installed timely and fits perfectly. the installers were professional and friendly, cleaned up after themselves too which is more than i can say about my carpenters on this total house renovations. The stone counter is beautiful and i am overall very pleased with what i paid for. After 27 years, we decided to remodel our master bath. Based on what we had in mind, we turned to The Granite Guy to help complete our dream bathroom. Cody knew exactly what type of stone would fit based on a tile sample that we shared with him and took care of everything. The fabricators were exacting in their work (the chosen stone was one that could easily "break") and did an awesome job. The gentleman who did the measurement of our vanity was friendly and accommodating of our schedule, even returning to our home when a wrinkle was hit (not on the part of The Granite Guy, I assure you). Once installed, the chosen Taj Mahal granite looks amazing and gives the touch of warmth that we were looking for. From start to finish, everything went exceptionally well. From going to Columbus Granite as a new customer, explaining what we wanted, to going to showroom, etc...it was a great experience. We didn't find what we wanted within the Showroom but Jennifer with Columbus Granite showed us a list of stone companies we could order from that they partner with. I think after our 5th stone company visit, we finally found what we wanted and ordering it was simple. From ordering it, to arriving, scheduling the measurement, then seeing it before it was cut was a very cool experience and I would highly suggest them in the future for anyone looking for new/replaced counter tops. I visited The Granite Guy's showroom when they were in the midst of moving their business. Their manager was ill and not able to work at that time and the majority of the employees were busy moving materials from the old location to a larger building. There is an impressive selection of distinctive granite slabs available from which to choose. If you are looking for a unique piece of granite, this is the place to go. I did receive assistance after calling the business' phone number and filled out an information sheet. I was given a sample of a few types of stone to bring home after I filled out an information sheet that included a sketch of my kitchen's floor plan and measurements of the current counter tops. It was helpful to take some basic measurements prior to visiting this business so that Bob (the manager) can provide an estimate of the cost. A few days later I was able to get estimates of the cost for the job with the different stones that were under consideration. I returned a couple weeks later with my husband in tow to finalize our decision on the stone that we had selected. The manager Bob informed us of what to expect. We made appointments for having Walter measure our current counter tops, a time for me to look at how templates would be laid out on the stone slab and for installation. These dates were only two weeks in advance----a very rapid turn around time for custom made counters. Walter was incredibly meticulous in taking measurements in my household using expensive laser equipment to ensure an accurate fit since walls are not always true. He was able to have the templates ready for layout in less than 36 hours. He came on a Tuesday morning and I was able to come in for a layout the following afternoon. Greg, head of fabrication made certain I was satisfied with which part of the slab would be used for the most visible portion of my counter and for the desk. The stone was cut on Thursday and installed on Friday morning by Jessie and Matt. The installation crew was able to tear out my old counter tops, remove the old kitchen plumbing, install the new counter tops and reconnect the plumbing and replace my faucet all in 3 hours. They did a fantastic job other than small nicks on my window ledge where the new faucet hit the wood and along a wall where my old (soon to be replaced) wallpaper was also slightly damaged. The seam between the two major pieces of stone has no gap---a sign that the measurements and stone processing was top notch. I was impressed with how hard everybody at The Granite Guy works. This business has been growing rapidly over the past few years and has managed to provide excellent service and a quality product at a very competitive price. Everything went perfectly! I went in to the store with my measurements and the nice lady gave me a wonderful price. I went back the next day and purchased the granite. The installers showed up a few weeks later on time and as scheduled. They were professional and finished up in about 4 hours. They cleaned up their mess too! Everyone we worked with at Konkus is a professional. Starting with the initial sales team who worked with us in defining want we wanted and our budget. They were in contact with us with both phone and email as we worked through what we wanted. We then had a Konkus employee come out to our house to laser measure our existing counter tops and take pictures. He worked with us to design minor changes that could be made to our future counter tops. We then met with another Konkus employee who worked with us to design how the various counter top and back splash components would be cut from the slab. Pointing out how we should keep the grain of all the pieces running in the same direction. Last step was for the Konkus install employees to assemble the pieces in our kitchen. I took the day off, which was good. They did have some additional questions during installation to ensure the install was perfect. If one is going to invest in granite, it makes sense to invest in the professionals at Konkus. I would certainly use Konkus againshow more
