We obtained estimates from two companies for the cleaning and moss removal from the roof of our detached garage. Both companies are rated highly by Angie's List. Stauffer's estimate was for $300, and they guaranteed removal of the moss. The other estimate was for $900 and stated in writing that they could not promise that the moss would be removed. Stauffer's did the job for the estimated price, and they did an excellent job. The roof cleaned up very nicely, and every trace of moss is gone. We were very well pleased with their workshow more

Great company. I called about moss and mildew stains on my huge roof (house is 4000sf+). Roof is 10 years old and it looked awful. The moss was probably 1/8 inch thick in spots. Lots of crap and stains up there. Well, within 1 day of my call, George had inspected my roof, told me it was a much better than average job with nothing wrong with it except the moss and stains. His people came out to do the work within 3 days thereafter. Now, My roof looks like it was installed yesterday! I am impressed and am confident I'll get another 10 years out of it now! I called them to come out to clean off moss on my spa house. He sprayed it with moss killer and left. I called him and he stated that is all he needs to do. I asked for a letter stating that it was guarantee. He said he would send it and never did. He said it would come off with rain. Since then we had several rain storms and it is still there. So I disputed it with my credit card company. Nothing came of it from the business. No one has contacted me from the dispute. All I want from this is for them to come out to take the moss off my roof for what I paid forshow more

Brad and his employees handled all aspects of receiving service in an above average and efficient manner. I contacted him initially through his website to obtain an estimate for a full house package (house, sidewalk, driveway), plus retaining wall and roof cleaning. He responded within a couple days with some miscommunication over an email which was resolved quickly. He answered my questions and offered a competitive price. I was really seeking a fair price with someone who could clean the moss off of my roof without using high pressure washing and damaging the shingles. His company offered this and specified that it as not high pressure. A date was set for 3-4 weeks out. Brad arrived with his father and another coworker. Brad was extremely detailed in his work. I inspected afterward and Brad further detailed a couple areas on the porch and retaining wall that the other workers had missed. The results are fantastic and the service we recieved exceeded our expectations! Due to our homes location on a ravine, we have many large trees that drop leaves and other deposits on our roof. I found Roof Clean, Inc. on Angie's List and called to make an appointment with George Gilliland, the owner. He was very prompt and professional and answered my questions demonstrating his genuine expertise. He was very thorough. I wasn't sure if I needed to replace the roof or if cleaning would be the only thing needed at this time. I appreciated his honesty and integrity. I decided to contract with George. He arrived when he said he was going to come and over a two day time period with his son assisting him, he power washed the roof multiple times, using a safe cleaning solution, installed the zinc strips, cleaned the gutters inside and out making sure everything was working properly, and power washed all the overhangs and eaves to remove any remnants from the cleaning. He caulked the entire chimney flashing, repaired the cupola and thoroughly cleaned the walks, patio, and driveway. I have never seen the roof look as good as it does now! George really knows his roofs and his product. He can explain your roof's condition at the same time as estimating what needs to be done to make it sparkling clean. Our roof was really infested with algae and moss and he was the only person who climbed up on the roof to inspect the extent of the damage before giving an estimate. This is a very good company... I live near some woods and my house is shaded by large trees. As a result, on my roof I get moss and the dark streaks from the bacteria that feed off of the stone in the asphalt shingle. It makes the roof ugly and the house look bad. So I periodically have it cleaned, not just for the aesthetics but because I've also been told this will significantly increase the roof's durability and life expectancy. My roof is very large with lots of sections - gables, L-shaped gables, false front gables, etc., lots of surface area, and is steeply pitched. So, it is technically a difficult roof to clean. However, Duane did a great job getting rid of all of the moss and streaks through the 2-step process he uses. My roof now looks like brand new again and I have a 3 year warranty on top of that! I am very happy with the service Duane provided me. I called some other vendors who failed to follow through with a call back. However, Duane called me back straight away, gave me a very fair price (I know because I've had this service done years before) and was at my house doing the work and completed it when he said he would. Outstanding job done by Scott Dwertman and his co-worker. My roof is about 15 years old and used to have some trees above it that caused black streaking and some moss build up on it. I also have a large stone chimney that was absolutely black. Scott was able to gently use his special blend of fungicides and other cleaners with a light sprayer that can be adjusted to wash away all of the muck. He then made sure to spray down all gutters, windows and wood siding that might have gotten any debris on them. I looked at another company, but chose Scott because he explained what some of the ingredients were and what they would do to my roof. I was afraid of harsh bleaches that would affect my shingles. He assured me that they would not damage them or bleach them. He was right! I can't believe how nice the color is on my roof shingles and my stone fireplace. The porch roof was extremely moss covered and it was restored to like-new condition. It looks better than when we moved in four years ago. The main roof was starting to get bad and after the service it looks *really* good! If I didn't know better, I would guess it was new. The money to get this work done was very well spent and potentially saved us thousands if we would have let the condition to worsen to the point we needed a new roof.
