My realtor recommended Sherman to do my home inspection. Not only did he missed things small things (e.g. my front porch light not working) but he missed big things as well (e.g. the flashing on my chimney leaking). The biggest thing I will comment about was not tell me there were roots in my sewer - which I paid extra for a scope!! After finding out that there were roots in my sewer due to my drains not working, I looked for the sewer report and could not find it anywhere. Once I called his office about this matter, it mysteriously appeared on the website. Now he is saying it was there all along. Do yourself a favor and find a different home inspector. Ken Bowen was my inspector and he was great. He was already inspecting the roof when I showed up a few minutes late. He actually got on the roof. I've had inspectors in the past that just look at the roof through binoculars from the ground. Ken was polite and professional, he went in the attic and crawl space to really look around, and offered suggestions on how to make some quick fixes. As a former landlord I've had many property inspections in the past and none have been as detailed as Ken. He found many issues that we ended up getting resolved through negotiations with the seller before close. I also hired WIN to check for elevated Radon levels, which they did find. The final report was concise and easy to understand. I would definately use WIN again. Ken was the best Home Inspector I've ever hadshow more

INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED IN EARLY MAY ON A VACANT HOME. INSPECTOR SPENT APPROXIMATELY FOUR HOURS IN THE HOME, AND APPEARED TO DO A THOROUGH JOB. WE MOVED INTO THE HOME ON JULY 31ST. ON AUGUST 1ST, WE EXPERIENCED WHAT THE PLUMBER REFERRED TO AS THE "WORST PLUMBING LEAK HE HAD EVER SEEN". AFTER OUR FIRST SHOWER, THE CEILING BELOW THE BATHROOM WAS SOAKED. THE DRAIN PIPE TRAP WAS COMPLETELY CORRODED. I CHOSE THE COMPANY WITH THE HIGHEST QUOTE FOR AN INSPECTION, AND I ASSUMED IT WOULD RESULT IN A HIGHER QUALITY INSPECTION. I THINK THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO SPEND THAT MUCH TIME IN A HOUSE DURING AN INSPECTION, YOU SHOULD RUN PLUMBING FIXTURES FOR A SIMILAR LENGTH OF TIME THAT A HOME OWNER WOULD USE THEM DURING THEIR NORMAL EVERYDAY ACTIVITIES. APPARENTLY CRITERIUM DOES NOT AGREE. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE INSPECTION, AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANYshow more

Lisa was prompt in returning my phone call to set-up the inspection. She explained the cost and what would be done. On the date of the inspection we met Randy the home inspector. Randy went right to work inside of the house once we arrived. He was all over the house testing appliances, electrical outlets, checking the furnace and the gas fireplaces, and many other things too numerous to mention. Outside he checked the gutters, the roof, the garage, and several othet things I have forgotten. I have not written everything Randy inspected, but it was a lot and we received a complete and thorough inspection of the house. Randy was able to find nine issues that we submitted for remedy to the sellers. Randy was great in telling us small things that needed to be done (like shortening the chain inside of a toilet so it would not get caught underneath the plunger) that would make our lives a little easier in our new home. Randy kept things moving while peppering us with stories of other home inspections. Overall, Randy was at the house for over 3.5 hours. A small portion of that time, maybe twenty minutes, was spent printing the 11 page inspection report and explaining it to us. We would be more than happy to suggest Randy to our friendsshow more
