"Plumber was courteous, listened to my comments concerning installation options, and did an excellent job; cost was higher than the estimate, caused by unforeseen difficulties that required additional work."

"The service representative arrived within an hour of our phone call.
He put on protective foot covers on his shoes when he entered our home so he wouldn't soil our floors & carpet.
Martin spent time analyzing our plumbing to determine the best course of action to tackle our problem.
He then called in additional help to verify his findings.
Martin and Adam spent time explaining what they needed to do and walked us through the procedure and costs informing us of all of the issues, problems and complications that might occur based upon what they might find.
They asked us questions to determine what our needs were and also showed us existing plumbing that was old and might cause problems in the future as well as inform us of plumbing that did not meet code standards and offered solutions to correct the code problems.
They cleaned up after themselves and even rinsed our basement floor of the debris from the drain and also put our washer & dryer back into place.
We have never had any service representative spend as much time and energy to not only solve our problem but to explain everything in such great detail. It is one thing to have a plumbing problem that needs to be fixed immediately but they went much further to review our plumbing, share their findings and offer several options of assisting us immediately as well as servicing us in the future based upon our remodeling plans for our home.
Their ad on TV is very accurate. It caught our attention and we are glad we called them. This company obviously wants to do a great job and gain customer confidence to build future business. Our search for a plumber is over; we finally found a plumbing company that will use again when the need arises.

"We had an issue with our main stack and also needed our garbage disposal replaced, and Matt did an outstanding job. He was on time, professional, and explained everything in a way we could understand. The quality of his work was excellent—thorough, clean, and done right the first time. What we appreciated most was his honesty and the care he took in our home. It’s not easy finding someone you can trust with major plumbing issues, but he absolutely earned that trust. If you’re looking for a reliable, skilled plumber who takes pride in his work, I highly recommend Greene Plumbing Services. We’ll definitely call him again for any future needs!"

"John, of Affordable Professional Plumbing, replaced a dead sump pump late in the evening because he knew the damage that could be done to our finished basement, if it wasn't done promptly. He arrived when he said he would and completed the job efficiently. I highly recommend Affordable Professional Plumbing and I will only call them for future plumbing projects."

"I called Bill for a rough estimate for the work I needed done.  He gave me a quote right over the phone.  I decided to go ahead and work with him.  He was able to schedule me in within a week.  He called the evening before to confirm that we were still on for him to complete the work I asked him to.
The next morning he also let me know 30 minutes before hand that he was headed over to my house.  He arrived on time.  I showed him what needed to be done.  He started working on it immediately.  He had all the tools that would be needed for the job.  Bill managed to install 5 new faucets and hang the bathroom mirror in under 3 hours.
The reason I replaced the kitchen faucet it because I had 3 different plumbers come by to inspect a leak under my kitchen sink.  They all surprisingly could not pin point the leak but all suggested it could be the kitchen faucet on top of the sink letting water on the counter drip below.
Well a couple days later after Bill replaced the kitchen faucet, I noticed that I still had the leak (obviously not Bill's fault, as it was pre-existing).  However this time I was able to better pin point the leak and it was my hot water pipe going to the dishwasher.  I called BIll up and he came the same day to check out the leak.  Naturally when he showed up the leak was not presenting itself.  However we turned on all the hot water and ran the dishwasher and after about 15 minutes under the sink, sure enough the water started to drip.
Bill was very honest, he said he could repair the leak himself but it would cost me more money as he would have to run out to the hardware store and get the parts and come back and fix the leak.  Or he could call up a plumber contact of his who would be cheaper as he carries all the parts and have him get the work done.
Well money doesn't grow on trees so naturally I had his plumber contact do the work for me.  Bill got in touch with him on my behalf and explained the nature of the problem to him and the next day the plumber showed up and did the work just as well as Bill would have.  And no more leak!
And after Bill completed all of the work, he charged me exactly what he quoted.  No surprises.
I would highly recommend Bill and I will definitely be using him again.

Plumbing Handyman Service FAQs

The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.

Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

There are several questions or things to know before hiring a handyman to do any work in your home.

  • What kind of work do they do?

  • Do they have proper licensing?

  • Do they charge for estimates?

  • Is the estimate for both labor and materials?

  • Do they provide references?

  • Do you provide a guarantee?

  • When can you start and finish the job?

  • Do you have any before and after photos of your work?

  • How long have you been doing this kind of work?

  • Do you clean up and dispose of waste when the job is finished?

Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.

The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350
