Airfast was sent out by E.S.P. and it was a disaster from the start. They didn't call me at all for two days and I finally called them and got an answering machine. No response for two more days so I called my warranty company and they notified them that I had not been contacted. They finally sent a technician to my house. The person they sent out did not check anything, only went by what I told him I thought the problem APPEARED to be. He did not touch the machine and wrote in the work performed column that I needed a control board and a door gasket. I asked him how he knew what the problem was without doing any troubleshooting. He told me that he takes the paperwork back to the company and they contact the warranty provider to authorize the repairs. I asked him again how did he know what parts are needed for the repairs since he didn't check the machine at all. He told me that he was a HVAC technician and that Airfast would send out a washing machine mechanic with the parts. He asked me for my co-pay ($15) and I told him that I would pay it when the technician came out to do the repairs because we don't even know for sure what the problem is since he didn't troubleshoot the machine. It could be the control board, a switch, a loose wire or a multitude of other problems and you can't look at a machine and magically know what the problem is for sure. He didn't even run it through a cycle, so there is no way he could know for certain what the problem(s) might be. He put on my paper that I didn't want to pay my co-pay and I wrote on the bill "until the problem is fixed". I never received a follow up call so I called back to the company a couple of days later and asked the person on the phone to speak with a supervisor. She told me that she was the office manager. I explained the situation and all she kept saying was that I had to pay my co-pay because a technician came to my house. She kept saying that she could refer me to another company and I finally took her up on it because she didn't care about getting my machine fixed, only that I needed to pay that stupid little $15 and I told her I'm not paying it until you tell me what is wrong with my machine. Bad attitude, bad customer service, and definitely a bad technician who did absolutely nothing to ascertain what the problem was with my washer. I would NEVER recommend this company to anybody and I plan on making a complaint with the BBBshow more

Mike was able to come out and service our Maytag washing machine the same day I called, which was wonderful. He was neat and efficient and had the parts necessary to make the repair during his first visit. Unfortunately, the washer developed a different leak a few days later. In desperation called a local company, Pickerington Appliance Sales and Service, who came out within the hour. Quickly diagnosed problem as a failing pump motor. I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT DAY, AND THEY CALLED ME SHORTLY BEFORE THEY WERE READY TO COME - ALLOWING ME TO TAKE AS LITTLE TIME OFF OF WORK AS POSSIBLE. THE DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE WAS APPLIED TO THE TOTAL REPAIR/LABOR CHARGE. A PART WAS NEEDED, AND CAME IN FAIRLY TIMELY. THEY WORKED WITH ME IN SETTING UP A TIME THAT WAS GOOD FOR ME FOR THE ACTUAL REPAIR. SCOTT RETURNED TO MY HOME TO DO THE REPAIR. HE IS PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS, AND CLEANED UP AFTER THE WORK. THERE WAS A LOT OF OIL AND GREASE FROM THE WASHING MACHINE. HE ASKED PERMISSION TO OPEN A BAG OF CAT LITTER IN THE BASEMENT TO TRY TO SOAK IT UP FOR EASIER CLEANING. THE TIME NEEDED and COST ESTIMATED WAS ACCURATE TO WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. He did a great job. He adjusted all 4 legs on the washing machine and the switch connected to several systems in the machine that turns the machine on when lid was closed broke and he fixed that. The washer was leaking and I phoned on Saturday morning and the service man returned my call very promptly.He said he could come out later that day. THE TUBING CAME LOOSE SHORTLY AFTER REPLACING IT WHICH CAUSED WATER TO GUSH OUT. THEY CAME BACK RIGHT AWAY AND FIXED IT (AFTER I HAD CLEANED IT UP).THE NEW SETTING DIAL IS HARD TO READ (DOESNT MATCH, BUT MY WASHER IS 20 YEARS OLD). As it worked out when I happened to call Paul (I believe he is the owner) was just finishing up a job not too far from me, and he said he could stop by and take a look at the washer on his way by. So he stopped a few minutes later and checked the washer and stated that because it had sat for two years, the grease inside the gear box had probably hardened over time and was no longer getting into the gears to keep the noise down. As he was turning the washer off and on, the noise started getting quieter. So he told me I could use the washer to see if eventually the grinding noise would quiet down more as it was used and if it didn’t get quieter or if the agitator wouldn’t turn at all, I would need to have the gear box replaced at a cost of about $350. which I’m hoping I won’t have to do. He charged me $80. for the service fee and said if I decided to buy a new gear box and have him install it, he would deduct the $80. off the total cost. I’m guessing that’s the going rate for the service fee to have a major appliance checked out. It was just a bit more than what I had expected, but it’s also been a very long time since I had to pay an appliance repairman service fee. I was happy to know that I could still use the washer and over the last couple of weeks, I do think it has been getting less noisy. The repairman was very polite, honest, and explained everything to me in a manner that I could understand. But now I have a new problem.....my dryer has stopped heating up. Not sure what that’s all about, so I guess I better start saving up for a new dryershow more

These guys are fantastic! On both service calls, the tech could have replaced damaged parts and charged us, and we'd never have known the difference. Instead, on both service calls, the tech was able to repair the parts and keep the cost to only the service call charge. I don't know of many businesses these days you can trust to do this. They returned my call almost immediately after my voicemail, which was great. After explaining the issue, the gentleman I spoke with informed me that the issue is a bearing that needs to be replaced, but will require the complete disassembly of my washer. He quoted me $250-$300, but he could be off and needs to verify with 'Greg'. The gentleman asked for my address and told me that he'll call me back with a more definitive price quote. After about a minute I received a call from the gentleman indicating that he's spoke with 'Greg' and that he was way off on the price. The actual repair price would be $500 and that "we don't really do this any more", which was confusing. He then directed me to call another repair outfit that may work on Maytag washers.
