My experience with Southeast Lawn & Landscape LLC was fantastic. Mark, the owner, was very easy to work with and very communicative on the work we needed done. We just moved into a new build and had about an acre and a half of seeding that needed to be done. Mark came out and worked within our budget to ensure we had the best experience. He graded, tilled, planted seeded, and laid down hay for the whole yard. He also put down sulfur to improve our ground quality. The price you pay for the service you get is beyond reasonable. Norman was prompt to come out after I requested an estimate to be done for some yard grading and gravel install. His price was fair, communicated with me well on the job timeline, and was able to complete the job in a few days (first spraying the area to kill the weeds, etc. and then doing the grading + gravel install). I made an appointment for an estimate to be made for the grade improvement arond the house. One of the owners came out and made a very reasonable estimate. I gave an upfront payment for part of the cost. They indicated a time frame in which the job would be finished. They came out earlier than expected and completed the job to the specs agreed upon. From start to finish, Norm Pitzer was the ultimate professional. I called him to look at a poor grading job, not completed properly by another contractor. Norm was prompt when he arrived to give me an estimate. He was specific on the work that needed to be done, and was extremely competitive in pricing, considering the amount of work that needed to be done. He made it a point to squeeze me in even though he was thoroughly booked because time was of the essence before winter weather arrived. He and his crew arrived on time and began work immediately. He did not accept payment until he had shown me the work that was done and made sure it was done to my satisfaction (no initial deposit was required). All Seasons Landworks saved us. At the last minute we found out that there were site preparations ( grading and gravel installation) that needed to be completed before installing a storage barn. It was a challenge due to the rains however, they removed the sod, layed weed fabric, installed and leveled 8 tons of gravel in time for the installation. I had Landscapes by Terra come to my house to give an estimate for a mulching project and a grading project. At first I was very please because they were able to work into my timeframe, which was great! But then I got the quote...the prices were obscene. I countered the initial offer for mulching at about 1/2 of what they were going to charge me, which was reasonable because the number in my head was based on an estimate I had for the same mulch job with a different company the year before. Which, I should add, I turned down and ended up doing myself to save a few hundred dollars. Then i actually learned how terrible dragging around 120 bags of mulch was and edging everything myself that I vowed never to do my mulching on my own again. Anyhow, I digress....I also said I would like the grading done at 1/2 of the estimate price as well. Basically my counter offer was rejected, I was offered a $500 reduced fee, but all in I was looking at a reduction of around $1500. I got another quote from another company and their quote was right in line with what I was willing to pay. We had a lot of work done to our backyard, including removing a playhouse and swing set, adding topsoil and seeding grass, adding a dry creek bed, and planting 15 bushes around the house. We needed extensive mulching of our property as well as grading away from our house in some areas which was causing water to get to close to the foundation. Additionally, all of our mulch beds needed edging as mulch had been pouring on to the walkways around the house from years of neglect. The guys doing the work were fantastic and it looks great. In an area of our property that is close to a neighbor they also made sure to explain to the neighbor exactly what they were doing. Adam and his 2 workers showed up 3 hours late and did not phone me or return my phone calls to let me know. He did not apologize when he arrived even though he knew I took the day off work to be there. When we did the final walk through I felt very rushed and the workers were already in the truck with it running. You should not put away your equipment until your customer agrees they are satisfied with the work. He did not bring seed and straw as he said he would. He said he would come back in 3-4 days to lay seed and straw for me. That was over 2 weeks ago. I did the seeding and straw myself, but now the weather has turned cold and I can only hope it will germinate. Basically Adam is the owner and takes the phone calls and he is not very dependable. He should hire someone to answer the phone or not take on so many projects. He cannot manage his work properly and he seems in a big rush to get your money and move on. He seemed very professional in our initial consultation, but he changed when it came time to do the work. I would have given him a better rating if he returned my calls and gave me some warning when there are changes in his schedule, but he just left me hangingshow more

.Had some initial troubles with scheduling and communications, so if you're on a strict time table then maybe consider other landscapers; however, they were very honest about when they would be able to do it (when I got ahold of them) and understood that I was under a schedule. Our yard was very difficult to work on due to the large number of surface roots from five large trees that were removed. After my husband and I spent countless hours trying to remove tree roots and grade the yard by hand ourselves, we hired Norman to finish the job (I think we won the prize for the most tree roots in a yard.) He graded, tilled, put down a compost/topsoil blend, and seeded the front, back and side yards. It was a pleasure working with Norman. He drove by the yard several times after he completed the work it to make it was coming along well, and followed up with me about watering. From our 1st meeting he was honest and direct on how we needed to sequence the landscaping I needed done in my front and back yard. Norm was attentive in listening to what my overall usage and function of the spaces were to become and provided his expertise on additional items I had not even considered. We agreed on an affordable price and him and his team arrived early and ready. They were so efficient and thorough, they had over 19 yards of dirt laid, seeded and cleaned up within 1.5 hrs. As we walked the yard to see and review the work the team had completed.
