RECEIVED 3 OTHER ESTIMATES AND THIS COMPANY HAD BEST OVERALL DEAL. NEW BRYANT AC, LINESET, DIGITAL THERMOSTAT, AND 10 YEAR WARRANTIES. STAFF ON THE PHONE WAS A LITTLE DISORGANIZED AND HAD SOME PROBLEMS FINDING PAPER WORK. WORKERS WERE VERY NICE AND WORKED VERY HARD. WAS NO EASY TASK SINCE THEY HAD TO RUN NEW LINESET ABOVE FINISHED BASEMENT CEILING. THEY HAD TO CUT A HOLE IN THE DRYWALL, BUT COMPANY HAS AGREED TO COVER REPAIR COST. WORKERS WERE PATIENT AND TOOK THEIR TIME TO DO A QUALITY JOB. HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SYSTEM, SO FAR SO GOOD. WOULD USE THEM AGAINshow more

The installation went well. One error was discovered while testing was being done and it was fixed before the install crew left the house. There was one minor setting with the thermostat that had to be adjusted. One wrong part was installed on the furnace but Logan Services discovered it, called to tell us, and scheduled the replacement installation. We are impressed with the new heat pump. The variable speed fan makes it mush quitter inside the house. The upstairs is cooler with this new heat pump with thermostat set the same as with the old heat pump. We like being able to se the humidity level with the new thermostatshow more

I was given an appointment time frame of 12-4 pm and stayed home to wait for the technician. I still had not heard anything from the company by 4 pm, so I called the company to ask if anyone would be coming out. I was told the technician was at another job and would be out when he was done. I asked for any kind of time frame as to when someone would arrive as I had plans at 6 pm and was told they could not give me one. At 4:30, the company called and said someone was on the way. The technician finally arrived 45 minutes later at 5:15 pm. Neither he nor the dispatch person who called me apologized for making me wait over 5 hours. I inquired about a discount for the inconvenience and 5 hour wait but was told by the tech that they wouldn't give me one "for that". In the end, I sat around for nearly 6 hours, had to cancel my plans, never got an apology and was made very aware that they didn't value my time. I had five estimates completed. Buckeye's salesman seemed informed about the product and the "service" side of things concerning installation. Three of the companies gave me quotes on the same products (Lennox) and Buckey H & C was the cheapest but also the most professional on the day they came to give me the estimate. One of things that made them the least expensive was they were running a promotion for a 10-year free labor warranty (which was something that was a priority to me). Additionally, they offer the first year of service calls (two calls) free. Their installers were experienced and through conversations I learned at least one of them had been in the industry for 15 years. They were personable and made sure I felt comfortable which each unit before they left. The electrician had to do some minor updates to the electrical system as well and there was no extra charge for this. I would use this company again. ISSUES: Buckeye didn't follow through with two things that were necessary to complete the job. The lack of follow-through was regarding confirming my warranty and putting a vent cover on the vents on the side of my house. The most frustrating part of this situation was the fact that I emailed them multiple times (four times) over the span of four months because they didn't resolve the issues. They 'dropped the ball' on multiple occasions which surprised me because during the estimate and installation process they were responsive and professional. The serviceman was prompt, professional, cost effective--the furnace checkup was an Angie's List deal. He provided good information about the heating/cooling system and the programmable thermostat. Can't find the receipt with the cost of the job, but I know it was the Angie's list deal for the check-up plus $99 for the thermostat installationshow more

Each representative was timely, professional, and clearly explained issues/options. There was never a sense of being under pressure to buy one particular system, or to make an immediate decision. We went with a higher end system, since we plan to be in this house for years. The price was better than similar systems offered by other companies who quoted for us. Our system failed at the beginning of the summer - we ended up needing to ''wait in line'' to obtain their services. Fire & Ice replaced furnace and a/c unit in April 2011. They recently had to replace the defective thermostat with another type due to high humidity levels in summer and sporadic functioning over past few weeks. New thermostat installed quickly but was more complex to program. Technician came out after my attempt to program & a/c came on to reset thermostat. Was promised a quote for new thermostat taking warranty into account by next day. Have not received quote 2 days later. Overall company is responsive and must say they were superb at installation if new units-all old materials removed, very clean and professionalshow more

We were charged a labor amount that was not disclosed in the first phone call made. (an additional $80). When we called back to report that the air conditioner was kicking on with the furnace and that we would like them to check out the thermostat installation to make sure it was correct, was told that it was a bad thermostat and not the installation. When asked a second time if they would come out to recheck their work, was told again that it was the thermostat, not the installation. We ended the call and went looking for another company to check their work and fix the problemshow more

We had Quality Air out to do a Fall furnace inspection and they discovered there was a crack in our heat exchanger. The owner came out to check out where the furnace was to make a decision on the type of replacement. He talked to my husband and they decided on the best new furnace. Quality Air was able to come out in just a couple of days. The two man crew was here shortly after 8 am and they were finished and cleaned up by 2pm. They put down drop clothes upon arrival, used booties in the house and did a great job of clean up. There was very little left to clean after they left. We also had a new thermostat installed. The Carrier furnace is working beautifully and actually much more efficiently as I can keep the thermostat lower and it's just as warm!show more

I was very impressed with the promptness of their arrival. I called for service on the afternoon before - during a heat wave-. The promised arrival time was next day between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. At 8:30 am the company called to say that James was on his way to my home. James was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He checked the furnace then looked at the thermostat. I had a new thermostat installed a week before. James immediately found the problem and promptly fixed it. I was very impressed and relieved because four days earlier, another HVAC company came to my home. They never checked the thermostat but said that the control board in the furnace needed replacing. I was told that they would order the replacement part and call me about the cost of the part and their labor. I never got a call and the part was never ordered. Sears explained everything to me and said that the control board was fine. I signed a service contract with them. I heartily recommend themshow more

I HAD THREE DIFFERENT SERVICEMEN WORK ON OUR SYSTEM. WHEN THE FIRST ONE INSTALLED OUR NEW THERMOSTAT IN THE FALL, EVERYTHING WORKED GREAT THROUGH THE WINTER. WHEN THE SPRING/SUMMER CAME, WE NOTICED THAT THE A/C WASN'T WORKING PROPERLY. THE INITIAL SERVICEMAN CAME BACK OUT TO CHECK OUT THE SYSTEM, BUT IT TOOK THREE ADDITIONAL VISITS AND 2 ADDITIONAL MEN TO FINALLY FIX THE PROBLEM. THE INITIAL FIX WAS TO ADD 2 LBS. OF REFRIGERANT TO THE A/C SYSTEM, BUT THIS DIDN'T FIX THE ENTIRE PROBLEM. IT APPEARED TO BE A FAULTY WIRING JOB AND INCORRECT TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION IN THE INITIAL THERMOSTAT INSTALLATION. WE WEREN'T CHARGED FOR THE FINAL TWO VISITS, AND THE SERVICEMAN ON THE LAST VISIT, WAS VERY THOROUGH IN HIS RESEARCH OF THE PROBLEM, IN EXPLAINING WHAT HE WAS DOING, AND WHAT HE FOUND. I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN SINCE ANYONE CAN MAKE A MISTAKE, AND THEY WERE VERY GOOD ABOUT MAKING SURE THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGESshow more
