This was the best experience I have ever had from start to finish. To start, I sent an email and asked for more information. I received the friendliest, most detailed email in return. I then sent a sketch with measurements of my kitchen and received an approximate estimate depending on what granite I chose. I visited the showroom and was immediately shown all of my options. I love how The Granite Guy includes all the basics in the cost of the slab. Everything was so simple and quick and the pricing was less and included more than other vendors I talked to. Ray was wonderful to work with on our kitchen countertop project. We met with him at his store on High Street and then he and his son, Kenny came out to our home to do measurements. Ray and Kenny both did the old countertop removal and new countertop install and they were wonderful. They were a pleasure to work with and did a great job on our kitchen. Another installer put in laminate counter tops that were AWFUL. When it finally came down to it, they agreed to give us our money back provided we found a new installer and had the counter tops removed. (We'll see how that goes.) I called Sembro to get an estimate and Titiana answered the phone. I gave her the info regarding the laminate and she gave me a ballpark estimate that was $600 less than the other ones I had had installed. If this goes as planned, I'm a winner! She then had the contractor that will actually do the work--Richfinish--call me. (He's not on Angie's List but I'll write a glowing review for him when he is.) Rich measured and discussed where the other installer had gone wrong and how his work would differ. There was a slight delay due to manufacturer supply, but I was informed all along the way. Right on time, the counter top showed up. After nice introductions of the crew they got to work. The other counter was carefully removed and stashed in the garage and the new counter was installed. They were super careful of the house and met every one of my requests including scribing the back of the counter to fit the wall better. On this counter, the seam is barely visible. The edge is beautiful and I was given clear instructions on care and maintenance. I hope to enjoy me counter for years to comeshow more

Measurement appointment was on time. Price was more than competitive with Home Depot and one other estimate we had. Had to call about schedule for install. Installer got lost but that is understandable. Measurement was wrong on one dimensions so the top had to be re-cut, thus delaying job completion. But, installer came and installed as a promised. He went beyond expectations in getting the sink installed and stuck with it until he had done a quality job. Would deal with Countertop Sales againshow more

The installation was perfect. The other Angie's List-ed vendor we contacted, not only gave us a higher price, but, incredibly, wanted us to contract with another company to remove and haul off the laminate. They didn't even suggest anyone to do that. Corner Stone gave us a lower price for an essentially-identical product, and it INCLUDED removal of the old countertop, so final cost was much lower. Great experience. Having laminate countertops provides the opportunity to easily change the look of the kitchen. In a retro kitchen we installed boomerang pattern with a metal edge. Most contractors had no experience with the classic metal edge so I was happy to find Action tops who had both residential and commercial experience. This is an unsolicited review. Every step of this process was exceptional. Both sales associates I dealt with were helpful and polite. Never pressured to buy but answered all my questions. Dream team!! Really. I got a quote from Ohio Resurfacing a couple of weeks before I decided to go with them. In the interim, I was waylaid by a cold and could not remember what I'd chosen to laminate the tops with. Eric came by again and showed me. Went out of his way to be supportive. Today, they did my counter tops and bar and I was impressed with their work ethic. They put in an honest days work. They were meticulous and the product is a dream. I love my counter tops now! Overall, the experience was not as good as I thought it would be (based on the other Angie's list reports). Charlie arrrived at my home on Monday (4/6/09), but once there he wasn't very personable. He came in, sat his materials on my countertop and proceeded to ask me about colors. There was no company overview, no product descriptions...nothing. Once I picked the samples I liked, he proceeded to start writing on his pad, but rarely said anything to me. Most of the time I had to initiate conversation just to hear more about his services. Surprisingly, he informed me that he would have to email me the estimate, and as he was preparing to leave, I had to remind him to MEASURE my countertops. At approximately 4:55pm on Wednesday (4/8/09), I called him because I had not received the estimate and the receptionist stated that she'd have to catch him before his 5:15pm meeting to respond to me. A few minutes afer we hung up I received the estimate, which was by far the highest estimate I've received. When I emailed Charlie to ask why his estimate was just over $1500 higher than the next highest estimate I received for the same services (demo, fabrication, installations, plumbing, etc.) from a contractor who also uses Hanstone quartz products, he told me basically that the competitor must have left something out of the estimate, and he (Charlie) would lose money the competitor's price. I believe that this is baloney since he's using the same brand of quartz products as the lower priced competitor. It seems that Charlie was miffed that I inquired about the status of the estimate and high-balled me on the price just to get rid of me. Well, it workedshow more

We chose Countertop Sales because of their high reviews on Angie’s List. Our experience with them has been very frustrating. It took two months to get our counters which we were told should have taken 3-4 weeks after signing the contract and doing the template. The problem from the beginning has been miscommunication. It took several phone calls to figure out that the reason they were not ordering our counters was that the endpiece was a necessity for precise measurements. We thought the endpiece wasn’t needed until installation. That was not made clear to us until after we had lots of confusing and quarrelsome interactions with the company. Dave was very nice, but he rarely returned phone calls, and when he did it took a few days. During two conversations with Phil he was very unprofessional and aggressive in his responses to me. A few times my calls were not returned, and I had to call a couple of times before we got the information we needed. Although the installers were an hour and a half late, they were very apologetic for the delay. John and Jeremy were very professional as they installed the counters, and they also gave my husband some advice on how to install the sink and finish the plumbing. The two main issues we had with this company were the miscommunication and the lack of professionalism that was displayed by the owner when dealing with the miscommunication. The sales person came out and explained the entire process, showed us samples and helped us select the countertops that we wanted. Provided a quote. We scheduled a time for GT to come out and take measurements and a follow up visit from GT to install the countertops. Following those arrangements we had questions for the salesperson who would neither respond to phonecalls, nor e-mails. Calls to the main office finally got him to respond. We requested that GT provide a new kitchen sink, however a few days before the installation we got a call from a GT employee, asking whether we had purchased the sink "yet", since he needed the dimensions. Several phonecalls later, that situation was resolved. They finally came out and installed gorgeous countertops, some of the edges were not finished correctly and I am still finding piles of dust in areas that had been "protected" by plastic sheets. We did not call them back, because frankly speaking........we ran out of patience. We got a generic "thank you for your patronage, please recommend us to friends" letter...no follow up call to make ensure that our experience was satisfactory, in spite of knowing that we were very unhappy with their salesperson and subsequent mix ups. Their product is beautiful, but their customer service-not so much. I need more work done, but I am looking for other vendors, I don't think I will go back to GTshow more

My parents had had good experience with Miracle Method when they sold their house a couple of years ago. We met with them at the Home and Garden Show and decided to try it for a fix for our ugly blue laminate kitchen counter. We got a no pressure quote that was good for 3 months. It took us almost that long to get it scheduled but there was no follow up calls pressuring us to make a decision. The arrived on time for the selected day and walked me through everything that would happen. They then spent about 80% of the day prepping the area to make sure none of the materials got on anything but the counter. They even had to create a plastic wall since our kitchen is so open. They gave us instructions for the evening and warned about the fumes. They returned the next day to caulk and they were finished. We are very happy with the results. Konkus was an excellent company to work with. Everyone there was polite, knowledgeable and prompt. This price was excellent and lower than I had received for corian or quartz from other Angie Lists recommendations. Marc Konkus remembered that he had some small pieces of granite in the material that I selected, that saved me money. This was perfect for the smaller vanities that I was doing. The installation was great. Another advantage of this company is that they had a plumber, who I hired independently from the cost of the vanities to install new fixtures. I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again without hestitationshow more
