Bryan and his crew did 2 different jobs for us. The first was to demo an old concrete garage pad and block retaining wall in the backyard. They also pulled several wood fence posts and graded the whole yard. This spring they came back and excavated the front to widen our driveway and poured new steps, a sidewalk, and the driveway with concrete. We are extremely happy with Big B Concrete - Bryan was great to work with throughout the whole project and brought a lot of good ideas to the table. Many other contractors balked at the size and scope of our project but Bryan was game from day 1. I was impressed with the excavation and demo work they did, but I am absolutely blown away with the concrete work. Everything looks incredible and very high quality. We had a lot of work done to our backyard, including removing a playhouse and swing set, adding topsoil and seeding grass, adding a dry creek bed, and planting 15 bushes around the house. Absolutely phenomenal work, I don't have enough good things to say about these guys! Found them from an ad in the Madison Messenger, gave them a call last Monday, and they were able to make arrangements to come out to West Jeff not even a week later. The bobcat operator, Joe, was just a great guy, and the precision with which he operated that machine was amazing. The work was in tight tolerances and required excavating right up to the side of a house, but he had no problems getting a clean cut, grading the area, and laying down a perfectly sloped crushed limestone base that's ready for concrete. The results far exceeded any of my expectations. For reference, roughly 35 cubic yards of dirt and stone were excavated and hauled off for disposal. Joe was very easy to work with, and had some great recommendations. Very glad to have had him out for this project--I seriously couldn't be happier with the results, and the overall cost of everything was quite reasonable. Highly recommendshow more

In past we were very satisfied customers. But this time we waited more than 6 months after signing a contract before the work was finally done; final invoice was more than 9x the amount quoted on the estimate. They offered to discount the final bill because of the misunderstanding, but then threatened to put a lien on our home the day after our check was in the mail to them. They were bad communicators, bad contract writers (the total was never presented as a minimum, but rather the total price), and providers of terrible customer serviceshow more

The job went great. Mike and crew came out in late May and dug the basement, removed an old block septic tank, and installed a new septic tank. Mike shot graded our backyard and designed and submitted a leach field to the county for approval. After the design was approved Mike, Brian, and Jim came back out and put in the leach field and graded the backyard. After putting in the field they went ahead and hauled in gravel and backfilled around my basement for me and graded out the mess that I had already made of my backyard. The whole crew was courteous, friendly, and very helpful at all times. They were great to work with and I would not hesitate to hire them againshow more

Adam responded promptly to my initial phone inquiry. He came out to view the yard on a Saturday, within 2 days of my phone call. He called to give an estimate on Monday and was able to set up start date of Tuesday. It took 2 days to complete the project. The work was completed as we had discussed. He kept me informed throughout the project, and he was polite and courteous. I felt he was knowledgeable about the work to be done and handled all equipment safely and skillfully. His crew was careful to not damage existing lawn and plants. Also good about clean up at the end. We will call him again when we are ready to do more home improvementsshow more

Josh showed up early and got to work on widening my driveway and cut the sod out and spread it out as discussed and got the base gravel spread and moved my storage shed on the new gravel pad and finish graded the base stone. All of this was done in under 4 hours and had 16 tons of stone to spread. Plan to hire again to do a top coat of gravel once the base layer compactsshow more

DAVE WILCOX OF DEL EAST COMPANY IS A SAINT! I HIRED HIM TO RE GRADE MY 1 ACRE LOT. DAVE STARTED BY TILLING MY LAWN FIRST, THEN HAULED IN TOPSOIL, AND RE GRADED LOT FOR POSITIVE DRAINAGE. AFTER TILLING DAVE HAULED OUT ALL UNWANTED TRASH FROM LAWN. I ALSO TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HIS DUMP TRUCK , BY HAVING HIM HALL IN SOME BOULDERS AND MOVING THEM IN TO PLACE WITH HIS EQUIPMENT. DURING THE TIME OF WORK WE HAD A BIG WIND STORM AND I LOST 3 LARGE TREES. DAVE HAD SOME OF HIS FRIENDS COME CUT IT ALL UP AND HE HAULED IT ALL OUT FOR FREE. Overall, from what I remember it was okay. I had an old hot tub and some old TVs and stuff that I just needed to get hauled away for garbage. I guess as I had looked into different places so it went as expected, well. Overall I would grade them an 'A', service wise and for all the categories, absolutely. Waterworks responded very quickly to our call and performed an estimate within a day. They provided a thorough inspection and quotation to fix our leak. They really took care of everything and the estimate was exactly what they charged. They did a very good job of explaining the scope of the project and potential difficulties (Don was great!). They seemed to have a good working relationship with the city, got the proper permits and arrived early in the morning, completing the work in one day. And we especially appreciated the $100.00 off coupon from them which was printed in Angie's List! We would definitely use them againshow more

I'd give a shout out to Keith Fisher. He's easy to work with. He's pretty reasonably priced. He doesn't live too far away from me, which is probably good for me, because he can squeeze me in from time to time; in a bout a day, he can run over and do something. In the past, I think he's reasonable, but I don't know what this bill will be. He returns my texts. He lets me know when he'll be out. There's never a set time. He's in and out. He'll work some and he'll go do something else and he comes back. He has that flexibility, because it's never anything pressing. Yes, I intend to use him againshow more
