They advised me on what to look for gave me advise on other issues including fleas from neighborhood animals. They did not charge me anything but I did go to theirshop and purchase flea spray. They did a really good job and took care of the issue in the first cycle of attempts. Due to the nature of the problem they had to come and follow-up, but after the first treatment, I saw no signs of the fleas. How embarrassing-fleas in the house, really? I called Paul's Exterminating on a Saturday thinking that I would have to leave a message and probably not be able to get a return call until Monday. I was thrilled when Tim answered, listened to my complaint and worked me into his schedule on Monday. He quoted me a price over the phone and that price was the same when he arrived. Varmint Guard representative was very friendly and not too pushy over the phone. She gave me a per room estimate over the phone. I called a few other places and they were the cheapest and the only company that offered a 90 day no cost guarantee, so I called them back. They came on the day I requested and were on time. The worker who came to the house tried to give me another estimate after he "looked at the place". I told him I had already gotten a quote over the phone and that was all I was paying. He told me they usually don't do that, tried to phone the office and couldn't get through, and then filled the work order for the amount I was originally quoted. We told him there was evidence of mice. He said he thought that was the problem, but didn't check for mice or ways they could get in. However, we haven't seen any fleas sinceshow more

It was very easy to get an appointment. The receptionist who took my call was very polite and helpful. She was able to give me an estimate over the phone and the estimate was very close to the actual price that I paid. The owner, Jay came out to the house and was very polite and knowledgable. Had a flea infestation at my mom's house from fostering a cat for about a week, didn't realize he had fleas until several weeks later when family members all of the sudden started getting bitten. Fleas would be crawling on your legs just minutes after entering the house. There have always been dogs in the house until a couple years ago, but NEVER have we had anything like this! I knew immediately it was time to call a professional. I called on a Monday and Chris was out that Wednesday, arriving at the time scheduled. Family members had to leave the house for treatment, but were able to go back about four hours later. All rooms of the three-level house were treated. Upon return, no chemical smell at all. Immediately, there was a noticeable difference in amount of live fleas, and within a week, all seemed dead. It has been three weeks now and still no fleas! They do recommend that you vacuum every day/other day for two weeks to stimulate eggs to hatch, which makes sense, so there was a little work on our end afterwards. We found our new exterminator! We were concerned the cat might have brought in some fleas and when I woke up with a rash we panicked that he did or worse we had bed bugs. I sent an e-mail inquiry and Jay called first thing the next morning. Someone came out that day and provided a brief consultation of what could be done. After a trip to the nurse it appears my rash might be plant related, not bug related. But 1st Response was so prompt and professional that if the bee hive under our deck returns in the Spring they will be my only callshow more

Over the phone Josh gave me a very reasonable price, less than competitors for the exact same service of spraying all areas inside our house and putting granular treatment outside along the foundation. But better yet was his ability to schedule quickly. Via email he sent instructions and arrived on time at the appointment. He was very professional so I felt comfortable vacating the premises for 2hours while he sprayed and it dried. He explained that due to the life cycle of fleas that it might take 2 weeks (of daily vacuuming) before the fleas left. He responded promptly via email when they did not and quickly scheduled another spraying at no charge. The fleas have been greatly reduced, but if they are not gone by next week, I know I can call again. Fleas required a full-court press to get rid of (we are doing lots of other things such as treating pets, spraying pets, spraying and dusting the carpet), and it is good to have this company on our team in the processshow more
