Jim from Lindsay Tint came over to take measurements and an estimate which took maybe 20 mins. He is very knowledgable in the different options available and communicates them clearly. He was very honest with the pricing and the estimate came in well under some other local area providers. The actual install took a full business day and went pretty smoothly. He took precautions to protect furniture and walls even though some windows were difficult to get to. When I first called two months ago for my 9-21-11 appointment, I did so on the recommendation of the auto dealer from whom I had purchased my new vehicle. Because of the nature of my profession (physician), I needed to have a specific time to have my windows tinted and the soonest they had available was the 9-21-11 date. I discovered two days before the appointment that my work schedule was changed and I called the establishment four times during their morning business hours and each time got only a voice message; so, I left a message asking them to call me today. By late afternoon, I had not received a call; so, I drove the 30 minutes to their site so I could ask my questions (because I thought my vehicles windows might not be amenable to the tinting) and, if my windows were indeed "tintable", I would need to change my appointment. When I arrived at 4:30PM, a hour before their advertised closing time, I found the business empty and the door was locked. No message was found on the door to explain the situation. I had the work done and all went well or so I thought. It was relatively cold and rainy when the work was done and it took awhile for the tint to dry. However, when they did dry, there were bubbles on the driver and passenger windows that remain today. I contacted Jim Mull on 12/11/2007 and advised him of the issue and stated that it would be OK with me to get them fixed in the spring if it was OK with him and he replied, "Yeah, Spring sounds fine; too cold right now. Jim Sounded good to me and was comforted that he was standing behind his work. On 4/16/2008 I sent an email to set up a time to get the tint fixed and was surprised when Jim Mull replied "Sorry man no time to do it in the next 3 weeks. I am way too busy right now. You got a great deal on a decent tint job. I was willing to help you out and do it for less than I normally charge and you are hassling me about redoing it. Made a appointment sometime ago now. Been trying to get ahold of the owner ever since… had a buddy refer me to this shop , got in about 15 days later, I live really close (2miles) so I decided I’d walk home and was talking to everyone there so they knew I was walking home. As soon as I got home I was called by Tim the manager saying my car wasn’t cleaned and that they would have to charge me a extra $100 for a hour to clean my car… told him no one ever told me I’d have to have my car spotless(wasn’t dirty at all), and Tim tells me he’s sorry and that they have someone new working the phones to which I reply “I understand but why is that my issue I wasn’t informed and that he knew I was walking home”. Tim then gives me a ultimatum if I wanted to have it worked on or not and I said “no” and he told me to come pick up my car, I said “I’ll be there soon… 3 minutes after this, Tim calls me back and said he’s sorry and they will still do the car and that he will give me a discount(discount ended up being 5%🤣🤣🤣) if I still let them do it. I said yeah that’s fine…I get my car back later that day(take a Uber back there) as soon as I’m driving off I see there’s imperfections in all of the windows so I turn around and drive back and talk to Tim, he does a quick look at the windows(just the windows, not the back windshield) and says to give them up to 6-7 days and the bubbles will work themselves out. Well, fast forward… bubbles were still there. Talked to a buddy and he said the tint job was the worst he’s ever seen especially because automotive performance pros is about $200 more expensive than other places. So by this point I don’t even want them to touch my car again(just sensed something sketchy from the shop) and Tim won’t give me the number of the owner, so I went to the their other shop off of high street and told them the issues. The guys over there were much cooler and agreed that it was a crappy job. And that they would have to replace everything. So I take it in to have them redo it because now I feel comfortable that they can do it. So I go and drop my car off (2 days without my car now) and they call back roughly 5 hours later and say my car is too hard to do and they can’t do it…I honestly couldn’t believe it but I was like okay sounds good . So they ended up driving my car back to me to save me a uber(which was pretty cool and gave my a refund and they were all super nice people at the high street location). Okay, so fast foward again to about 2 weeks later it starts raining super hard out and I try to defrost my back window and nothing was happening. Well I got back home and shined a light on my back windows and about 75% of my defrost lines are shaved off. At this point I didn’t even want them to touch my car again and thought I’ll just have my mechanic fix them next time I go in(I was under the impression you could easily fix the defrost lines, but was I wrong!). My mechanic told me to take it too a body shop and the body shop told me I would have to get a new back window $300+ and that I should take it back to where they tried to tint it because “he’s never seen a window that scraped”. So I call Tim and let him know to which he keeps telling me he told the owner but I don’t think he did because he’ll get into trouble. It’s been super dangerous for me to drive with my back window fogging up and I can’t stress enough that this was THE WORST experience I’ve ever had in my whole life with a business. Hopefully the owner sees this and gives me a call. Tim keeps assuring me only the owner can do something and he’s given him my number. I was also referred to this place by a buddy that funny enough knows the owner (he doesn’t want to be involved) and he said he’s extremely sorry he ever suggested me to go thereshow more
