THE LIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
The Light Before Christmas hung the lights and installed the spot lights, however 5 of the 8 spot lights did not work and a partial strand of lights wrapped around a tree bark did not work. I contacted them and they said it would be 2 days until they could come out to fix. They came out, but none of the lights worked. I contacted them for a 2nd time. I had to wait 2 more days. They supposedly came out, but the lights still do not work. I am extremely frustrated with this company and their lack of professionalism in promptly taking care of a problem. It is now a week later and the lights still do not work

I HAD CONTRACTED FOR $200 WORTH OF CHRISTMAS ICICLE LIGHTS ON OUR HOUSE, BUT THEY MISSED THEIR APPOINTED DAY DUE TO OVER SCHEDULING. I CALLED AT 4 PM AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD BE OUT, BUT LIGHTS BEFORE CHRISTMAS FINALLY CALLED AFTER 9 PM TO SAY THEY HAD CALLED THEIR CREWS IN AND WOULD BE OUT TWO DAYS LATER BUT WOULD NOT COMMIT TO A TIME. AS IT HAPPENED, THE NEXT DAY THE ROOFING COMPANY SAID DONT PUT ANY LIGHTS UP UNTIL AFTER THE ROOF WORK IS DONE, SO I ENDED UP CANCELING MY ORDER. LIGHTS BEFORE CHRISTMAS IS NOT VERY CUSTOMER-FRIENDLY AND IS VERY EXPENSIVE BUT I HAVENT FOUND A COMPETITOR THAT EVEN RETURNS PHONE CALLS

Angel Lighting
We have used Angel Lighting for about five years. In September they always send an email what we want to have done this year and the date that we want the lighting installed. They provide all of the lighting and garland while we supply the wreathes and bows. As always they arrive on time and professionally installed the lighting. They even hang a 6 foot wreath on the front of our house that we purchased from another company. Scott and Kristina are extrememy professional and helpful as well. We even had a lighting issue at our neigborhood entrance installed by volunteers and they were quick to respond to an email question to help us solve our problem. They are one of the most professional and courteous companies that I have ever dealt with and will continue to use them in the future

K&T Window Cleaning
Work went very well. We have two outlets in our eve and had 6 strands of lights. It look a little reverse engineering to get everything strung correctly to get to the outlets. We provided the lights, clips and extension cords as well as some dusk to dawn light sensors my husband wanted installed in the outlets. Khris was thorough and very accommodating

Major reasons for my frustration: 1. They said that they had inspected my house and were confident in their ability to put up lights without problems, but on the installation day, they discovered that I have a slate roof and gutter boxes, not metal gutters, which prevented them from installing lights on my roof and gutters. 2. One of the guys was smoking while putting up and taking down lights. 3. AC kept telling me to call him so he could re-do my landscaping and fix my balcony railing. Great, but I never asked for his opinion, and I had just told him that I had JUST re-done all of my landscaping and that my contractor was working on installing a new deck on the balcony so it was not finished yet. Despite my replies, he kept telling me to call him to work on my house. 4. They did not call or email me before coming to take my lights down. I had out of state company staying with me when they showed up. I told them that I expected notification before they arrived, and they said that was the last day for take-down. 5. They were unable to get the lights off of the balcony railing and recommended cutting them down. I told them not to cut them, and when I went up and looked at the lights a couple of days later, I was able to easily take them down without cutting them. If you want more details, keep reading: I received an ad for Christmas light installation by Roark Remodeling in the mail. I went to the website but had some difficulty figuring out if I had submitted everything correctly because I did not receive a confirmation page. I sent an email through the website, and AC White called me back very quickly. He and I settled on a date--Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, in the morning, for the work to be done. He then explained that I still needed to request an appointment through their website and submit payment that way, and they would email a confirmation to me. I was a little nervous about paying for service that I hadn't received yet, but did it anyway so I could secure the date for installation. It was also an inconvenience to have to go back online after having just set a date via the telephone. But, whatever, I did it. AC and his assistant arrived on Saturday, around 10 or 11am. They called earlier in the morning to give an estimate of when they would arrive, and they were accurate. Upon walking up to my house, AC told me that they had driven by and already inspected my house, so he was confident that they could put up my lights without any problems. So, when I asked if the slate tiles and gutter boxes were going to be a problem, I was surprised to hear him say, "Oh, you have a slate roof? And your gutters are just extensions of the roof and not metal attached ones?" It turned out that they were not able to put any lights on my roof or on my gutters, as he had initially told me they would. I sort of figured that they wouldn't be able to, but was disappointed that their "inspection" didn't involve looking at the roof or gutters. Also, AC's assistant was smoking when they walked up to my house and continued to smoke while installing my lights. He remained outside the whole time, but I thought it was unprofessional to smoke on my property while working. Any time there was a question (3), I had to breathe the smoky air. I was having them install my own lights, rather than provide lights. They did not tell me that I also needed to provide at least 5 extension cords. I had always used 2 for previous years but was able to find 2 more outdoor cords, and they wrapped an indoor cord with saran wrap to make it usable outside. (Safe??) In the end, the lights looked nice, but I could have easily done that job myself. Additionally, AC kept telling me all of the ways that he could improve my landscaping and my house...but I never asked for his opinion or assistance. In fact, I had just explained that I had completely redone all of my landscaping this past summer, and that I LOVE it. He told me to call him back to fix my balcony railing because it would not meet OSHA standards and was very unsafe. I reminded him that I was having new deck flooring installed and that my contractor was not finished yet. In order to schedule the take-down appointment, I had to submit preferred days of the week and times through their website, which I did as soon as I returned from a NYE vacation, and selected Wed or Sat afternoons. I did not receive a confirmation call or email with a date or time. I had out of state company staying with me when AC and his smoking companion showed up to take down my lights-on a Sunday afternoon. They did not call before arriving, and I had to go back inside (had just gotten ready to go to the local park with my goddaughter) to get the box for the lights and cords and to unlock the back yard gate. I explained that I had expected a call or at least an email before they arrived, and AC answered that this was the last day for taking down lights. Apparently it was that day or not at all. The assistant later knocked on my door, smoking on my back porch, and asked me to come and answer a question. AC told me that he could not get the lights off of the balcony railing because new deck flooring that had been installed after the lights were up was too close to the bottom of the railing, and he couldn't get the plug out from underneath it. He offered to cut the lights off and bring a new set next year, when I called him to install lights again next year. I told him to just leave them up and I would take a look at it later and perhaps have my contractor replace them if needed. When I looked at the lights a couple of days later, I was able to slide the cord down about two feet and take the lights off without any problems. (There was no snow on the roof or ground when they came to remove the lights, and it was still daylight, so his view was not obstructed.) Overall, the lights looked good and worked all season, but I installed the lights in the same way myself last year. I was annoyed with AC's repeated recommendation that I call him to "fix things up" or to "re-do my landscaping." I was frustrated with the smoking and with the lack of attention to detail--the "inspection" that did not inspect what he needed to see, the inability to remove the lights that I then did without a problem a couple of days later. I would not hire him again, as I could do the job that he did, without the smoking and without the interruption of my visit with friends, and most importantly, without the repeated request to call AC for future business

We have used them for years, they have done a good job. The only quality less than perfect is that we would like to have LED lighting, and they have not offered that in the past years. Some people would like that, and they should inquire, but we haven't had them in the past couple of years. They came out early around mid November and we didn't plug them until we needed them, and then they came and took them down in January. We had left some messages to find out if our contract was finalized. We had called them around three times, and then the owner finally called us

Great Job ! Have never used this type of service and was pleased from start to finish ! They had to delay job one day due to weather but called and scheduled for first thing the next morning and were here promptly. Worked quickly checking with me for clarification on what I wanted. Allowed me to change a few minor things. Neighbors have raved about my lights and I am very happy. E-mail communications with the company were very effective from referral through billing. Will definitely use this company again next year !!!!

Ruth & John, did a great job as always! They always arrive on time and stay till the job is done right. We've been working with them for 3 or more years now. They did a great job of cleaning up and trimming our hedges. We had so much rain this year we had to have them back this fall. Too many things to list. This year for the first time we had them decorate outside for Christmas. They did a wonderful job, and the neighbors think so as well! We will have them do this for us every Christmas...it was so nice to not have to worry about finding the time to do this on our time. John & Ruth are the best! We highly recommend them. They came out and gave me an estimate which I thought was fair. The next week they came out to put up the lighting it took them about 8 hours. They were very meticulous and careful about the outdoor shrubbery and it looked beautiful when lit up at night. At one point after a storm a row of lights went out they were able to come over the next day and replace the strand of lights

The Grounds Guys of Westerville
Pretty good. however the lights were not set up completely and was missing some pieces that were on back order. We called to have them make sure all the lights were lit but took over a week to make this happen. to their credit, they prorated the cost. I believe this was a glitch and not their usual process. we would use them again as the house looked great

TIMBUK FARMS
My family has gone to this far for years, it started with my parents and now my wife and I take our family. PROS: They have an absolute TON of trees to chose from in just about every variety you can possibly imagine. They have buses to take you to some fields (and back), other are close enough to walk. The trees are in really good condition and usually have plenty of trees with good shape and fullness to choose from. Nice lodge with neat decorations to purchase, a concession stand and Santa and Mrs Clause is often there for the kids. You can find a really nice tree pretty quick (once you actually make it to the field...see CONS for more details about how busy they are) CONS: They are so busy you should plan to spend a lot of time there, especially if you need to get on a bus to get to your field. It will take you less time to find the perfect tree than get on the buss to get out there. They have gone from what used to be a very family owner operational feel to a much more commercialized operation feel. This commercial feel gets worse and worse every year we go. I mentioned earlier they have very nice tress, the bad part of that is that most of the farms around the same area price their trees per foot, not Timbuk. Timbuk tags each tree and the price is based on height, girth, fullness, and I am sure other factors as well. If you found the same tree at another farm that prices per foot only, you would pay at least 1/3 less at the other place if you like full trees. For an 8 foot nice full Concolor Fir tree in 2014 we paid $85 and that was not the most expensive 8 foot Concolor in the field. As our family grows and we now plan to have our children pick out a tree for them to decorate and getting the family tree I am not sure we can continue to afford the prices at Timbuk. I hate to move from what has been a tradition for so long but with the steep prices and the fact that I just don't feel at home there anymore with the commercial feel that has taken over I don't think we can prevent a change

This company hung lights for me last year. We had issues with wreaths falling last year but I was able to fix them myself. This year they changed their prices and I ended up paying 3 times more than 2014. I still decided to use them since I had purchased all of my lights the previous year since they did not provide lights at the time. This year they let me down in a big way. I was on their schedule, had paid in advance. had everything was out and ready, even cleared my schedule to be home. They cancelled 5 minutes before they were supposed to show up. They completely cancelled the job with an email. No reschedule--just refunded money. Very disappointed. Terrible customer service. Unfortunately now I'm not sure I can find someone to put up my lights before Thanksgiving

Mr Fix It
Someone else had looked at the leak and said it could not be fixed and he fixed it the same day. He was professional and nice. He took off his shoes and cleaned up his mess. He even took some time to pay attention to my son who was about 15 months. He was so nice. I would highly recommend him.

Angel Lighting
Since I am a current customer, Angel Lighting sent a letter requesting information on possible changes from the prior years installation and to confirm that I wanted lighting installed once again. Angel Lighting then communicated the date they would install the lighting and showed up on the agreed upon date. As planned, they installed the lighting on two visits; a few days apart. This included hanging a very large wreath (that I own) high on the front of the house. Scott and Kris are a husband and wife team and work very well together. They are creative, very professional and will freely give their opinion when asked. Once again this year, I received many compliments on the quality of their installation. I am also the chairperson of our neighborhood landscape committee and used Angel Lighting to light a large tree at our entrance as well. They are very professional and I highly recommend them. I will use them again next year

Scott and Kristina Angeletti came to our house and designed a Christmas lighting plan with me and my wife. They listened to what we wanted, made constructive suggestions, submitted a written estimate and installed the lighting and decorations as agreed.
