Reviews of Chimney Inspection Near You
Whempy's
Based on an over-zealous home inspector's report, we were required to provide a chimney inspection for the perspective buyer of our home. The inspector recommended a "category 3" inspection as well as a flu pin. I called Whempy's and explained the situation. They stated that because the chimney was fabricated metal flu a "category 3" inspection was not necessary and over the top. The cost of a category 3 inspection would be $300.00 while the normal inspection would be $85.00. They came out quickly to do the less expensive inspection, wrote on the inspection form that a category 3 inspection was not necessary for a fabricated chimney and that our chimney was "like new." They also provided and installed the pin free -- not a huge expense, but still very appreciated by this stressed out home seller

Took advantage of their special on Angie's List, unfortunately they were unable to schedule me as soon as I had wished, however they communicated well with me throughout and were very flexible and professional. Highly recommended.

We bought the house about 10 months ago and had not used the chimney. The home inspection had said the chimney appeared to be in satisfactory condition but we wanted to have it cleaned and inspected further (home inspection suggested a level 2 inspection) before using it this winter. They were very punctual and were able to come out within a week of calling them. The service worker was right on time and very polite. He said that the chimeny had actually been swept after the last use and did not need to be cleaned which I really appreciated. However, it was my mistake, but I did not realize they would only be doing a visual inspection. We basically paid $65 for the same information we received in our initial home inspection. Again, this was my error as I think I just assumed the inspection would include more than a visual inspection of the chimney and need to research what the level 2 inspection is! Overall I was very pleased with Whempys and would use them in the future

Chim-Kleen Chimney Svc
Chim-Kleen is a great company to work with! Randy Morse is a great guy---obviously knows his trade and does an excellent job! Randy arrived promptly, covered my new carpeting, and went straight to work cleaning out the fireplace, mesh curtains and glass doors. He inspected the fireplace for safety, and then went outside and inspected the chimney for safety, also. Randy was very thorough, informative, honest, friendly and an overall great person to come into my home and clean and inspect my fireplace. He cleaned and picked everything up so well that I didn't have to do a single thing after he left. My fireplace not only looks beautiful, but I am confident that it's safe, too. I highly recommend Chim-Kleen for your fireplace and chimney needs. Thank you, Randy, for a great job

New Buck Chimney Sweeps
We hired New Buck to help us with our inspection of our new house. They did find some damage and we were able to get a credit for repairs in time for closing.

100% satisfied with the work done by Supreme Brick & Chimney. Josh responded to my Angi request very quickly and squeezed our house into his schedule only a couple business days out. The chimney cleaning process was extremely clean with ZERO dirt going anywhere besides in Josh's vacuum. Very friendly and happy to answer questions while offering service at a reasonable price. I'll definitely be returning for future chimney and fireplace work

The technician was very professional and friendly. He answered all my questions and was very thorough. He left the fireplace area very clean . He inspected from the roof and advised me as to other work that might need to be done. There was no pressure there. I was very satisfied with the interaction

Fireplace Professionals LLC
The inspection was done in a timely fashion. He even came back at a later date free of charge to inspect the chimney from the roof because the first time he came there was snow on the roof.

Basement Remedy
Todd was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was very knowledgeable about old homes and it is clear that the company is very experienced in the work that they offer. We received an honest opinion on the state of our foundation and did not feel pressured in anyway to make a hasty decision. Todd went above and beyond by showing interest in our home and performed additional inspection of our chimney beyond what was scheduled. We have not hired yet for the work required however we do plan on hiring Basement Remedy for all of our foundation and masonry concerns

Whempy's
Whempy's called about 20 minutes prior to arrival to allow us to meet them at the house. James was there within that 20 minutes and completed the work in a professional timely manner. He also was very informative (gave me hints on the how to care for the stove in the off season and maintenance during use). He also left the area cleaner than when he arrived! I was very pleased with my experience and highly recommend this company, and in particular, James

Specialty Gas Services Inc
I never had a gas fireplace before, and I have enough sense to not mess with stuff like that until I know what's going on. These guys were very helpful, and for $100 I now have a working gas fireplace. Pretty awesome!

Purchased the chimney sweep special for $99 with an additional $100 to go towards masonry repair. Serviceman showed up about 20 minutes early, which was fine since I was already home. Only took a few minutes to realize during inspection that the walls of my fireplace box were cracked and in need of repair. Cost to repair the walls and floor was $650 with labor. Decided to wait to make a decision on having the walls replaced, converting to gas fireplace or removing the fireplace altogether. Serviceman was very courteous and professional and answered all my questions. There was no need to sweep the chimney since it was not operable until the walls could be replaced

The service person was supposed to arrive between 12:00pm and 4:00pm. He arrived on the dot of noon. He removed my wood burning stove (a lot of service people don't do this), and cleaned the chimney thoroughly. He laid down a cloth so that my living room would not get dirty and he took the utmost care to vacuum as he went so that no soot or ashes got onto the surrounding areas. He was courteous and took the time to explain to me how to properly operate my wood buring stove. The price quoted to me was $140, so I was pleased when he only charged me $119, with the Angie's List discount

The fireplace was inspected with a flashlight and found to be clean so we didn't need any services. They did instruct on product to purchase and how to clean the creosote from the gas logs. Price seems a little high for the 5 minutes that they were here. I had read in Angies' List booklet that even fireplaces with gas logs needed inspected which is why I had this service performed

GAVE MEMBER OPTION TO CHANGE TO A VENTLESS GAS FIREPLACE SINCE SHE ALREADY HAD GAS LOGS- RATHER THAN THE EXPENSIVE CHIMNEY REPAIRS.

NEEDED AN ANNUAL CHIMNEY INSPECTION. GOT A 10% DISCOUNT TELLING THEM I FOUND THEM ON ANGIE'S LIST. JIM CAME OUT AND INSPECTED THE CHIMNEY AND TOLD ME EVERYTHING WAS FINE. GAVE INVALUABLE ADVICE ON WHAT TO BUY AND WHAT NOT TO BUY FOR THE CHIMNEY. ALSO TOLD ME HOW TO HELP WITH THE ELIMINATION OF THE ODOR THAT HAPPENS DURING HUMID DAYS. DIDN'T TRY TO SELL ME ANYTHING I DON'T NEED. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL. CALL THESE GUYS IF YOU NEED AN INSPECTION!

Whempy's
THEIR PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE COMPARED TO OTHERS, WE USED THEIR ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT COUPON. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT DURING THE 20 MINUTES IT TOOK THEM TO DO THE WORK. IF YOU CHOSE WHEMPIES YOU WILL NOT GET A VIDEO CAMERA INSPECTION AND ALL THE FLUFF; VERSUS A VISUAL INSPECTION FROM WHEMPIES. I WOULD HAVE PAID $70 MORE TO GET A VIDEO CAMERA INSPECTION
