Benjamin Franklin Plumbing were wonderful. I have an old card from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and this man came out, his name I think was Todd and he said we are changing the name Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. He lied to me. He said that they were changing the name to Columbus Ohio Plumbing Service. He told me that I had to have my yard dug up and pay them $5200 to have it done and replace the pipe. We did not have $5200. He kind of harassed us. We are in our 70s but we are not stupid. I said that well can you take a VISA card, he said that no he could not take it. He said he would like to take my VISA card and get cash. I said no I cannot, because that is 19%. He said that he will take the 19% off of it, but I said that no we are not going to do it. I said I am going to call my son and we are going to talk about it and we are going to pray about it, because we pray about everything. So, in the meantime I had called the City of Columbus, they came out and checked the line, and said that it was fine and there is no problem there. I told them that there is man who had said that he had to replace these and he wanted to charge us $5,000 to $10,000. He said that well there is another man here who cleans out the drain well. It took them at least an hour or more to clean out that drain. They worked fine and then within a week or so they came again and never charged us. They said we guarantee it and it has never backed up since. So, that was the real Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. The Benjamin Franklin Plumbing guys, Mr. Tim Lott and Ms. Janice Lott, are wonderful. He was very professional. He was very nice. We had absolutely no problems with him at all. I last used their services in December. My son recommended Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. My son told me that we can trust them. They came in right away, there was no problem with a Saturday. They did not charge us for Saturday or anything. I am very happy about that. They are very very professional. I felt very safe with them. When the incident of that Todd guy happened, I went on Angie's list and saw them on there and I thought that is not his name. They were excellent. I actually got their name off of Angie's list so I followed the recommendation there. They were very prompt in their service, they came the same day. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and on time. They were able to get the part when they said they would get the part, returned to fix it when they said they said they would return to fix itshow more

Tim from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing arrived a few minutes early to give estimate. Estimate was significantly lower than two other estimates. Scheduled the work for a week later. Dave arrived on time to begin the work. He was very polite. Dave had to leave once to get more parts. He said he'd be back in an hour. He arrived in less than hour. Dave did a great job completing the work. The one thing I would suggested is having the service people wear foot covers to help cut down on tracking dirt and debris. Once again, Benjamin Franklin was on spot when we needed them. Older washer failed and a new one was ordered/delivered. New washer needed longer hose that standard and attempted to connect new/longer hose but could not safely disconnect old hot water connect due to extreme faucet connect corrosion. Scheduled Benjamin Franklin for next day and they confirmed appointment window, called ahead of coming, installed both "longer" hoses and we are happily enjoying our new washer. We bought a house to discover a leaking water heater a week later. Difficult warranty company to deal with, but Benjamin Franklin was excellent and assisted us in any way possible! They called and spoke with the warranty company but also made sure the current water heater was no longer under manufacturer warranty (it was not). Company was very nice. My only complaint was they said they would call back the next day and it was several days before I heard form them. They showed up on time and completed the work in a timely fashion. For what Roter Rooter told me would be over $400.00 Benjamin Franklin charged me $180. Roter Rooter also told me they had to leave to get the parts at a store. BF had all the supplies in the truckshow more

Our Hot Water Heater was intermittedly without Hot Water. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing came to our home really very quickly. I called at about 5:30p and they showed up at about 6:30p on Thursday 7/12/12. Tim (The Service Tech) put on Paper booties over his shoes as not to track in any dirt. Tim then proceeded to clean the Ignition sensor and immediately got our Hot Water back. The process took him about 5 minutes. However by morning, 7/13/12, we no longer had Hot Water again. I telephoned the Merchant again at about 4p 7/13/12 and Tim arrived back to our home again at about 6:45p. Tim assessed the situation found the same error lights that were alerting of the issue the previous day, were again, all lit. Tim then advised that the entire Electronic Console needed replaced. Tim advised he had to go to a couple of other calls and would go to their offices to pick up a replacement and come back to complete the work that same evening. Tim arrived back at about 9p and completed the replacement and my unit is now purring like a kitten! I am super pleased with the outcome. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing may not have gotten it completely repaired the first day but they came back as quickly as possible and corrected the situation. I, again, am very pleased that there is a merchant that still stands by their work! Tim was punctual, professional, respectful & courteous. It was obvious to me that he is a very honest family man! Finding only one of these attributes in a merchant these days is no small feat but to possess alll of them.....truly amazing!!! They will certainly be on our speed dial if any additional plumbing situations arise. We've all been there when we accidently hire the merchant that when they look at you and all they see are dollar signs.....Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is a refreshing alteration from the merchants who only contribute as minimumally as possible...as little as they can get away with! My experience with Benjamin Franklin was nothing short of positive. The supply line to our master bathroom bathtub started spraying water everywhere. I had to turn the water off at the main water tank to stop it. I found Benjamin Franklin here on Angie's List and called. They called me back immediately and said they would be able to stop by today and evaluate the issue. Since I called at lunch time on a Friday, I really doubted they would be able to come over, but they made time for me and not only evaluated the issue, but fixed it as well. The previous owners did a very poor "do-it-yourself" job when they installed the tub. The pipe lines were not long enough to ensure a good seal and they tried to use pieces in ways they weren't meant to be used. Details on names of parts are lacking because I honestly don't recall the specific names of the parts and I don't want to misinform you. Things were where they shouldn't of been and parts were even installed upside down. It was a totally botched job. They were able to fix the issue and install remote shut off valves on each of the pipes. I am forever grateful for their responsiveness, quality of their work, and professionalism. If you are in need of any plumbing services, I would not hesitate to recommend this company. Great people, great service. Benjamin Franklin was able to schedule us promptly and after 5pm. It took only minutes to assess the problem with the drain, and then a little longer to snake the line. About 25' down he was able to break through the blockage and get the drain to function correctly. I was unaware that his fee was a flat fee -- and so we had a couple of other things for him to repair to make the $140.00 house call more palatable. Overall it went very well. He was just very knowledgeable about what to do. He came out late at night and actually offered to do some additional things to help protect me from having the same problem again, which he followed up on and did. He?s just really very pleasant. My grand daughter lives with me and he?s really nice to the little ones. I liked his willingness to come and fix the problem even though it was a difficult time. He followed it up and he came back and did what he told me he would come back and do. There was a delay in him being able to come out, but he came when he said he could, so his punctuality is fine. We were very pleased with the responsiveness and work of Benjamin Franklin. I received a call back the day I sent an email even though we indicated it was not an emergency. At the time they called we asked for a recommendation on type of toilet (wanted "right height" toilet with efficient but effective flushing) and Tim called back to recommend an American Standard Pro Cadet with which we are extremely pleased. The work was scheduled for our convenience and Tim and his assistant arrived promptly. Tim reviewed all projects for work/supplies needed. They removed our old toilet and picked up, delivered and installed the new American Standard. Tim also selected and secured the replacement faucet valve assembly for our bath/shower and installed that. We noticed that during the toilet installation and flange repair one of the ceramic floor tiles under the outer bottom edge of the new toilet had cracked. Tim relifted the newly installed toilet, removed the damaged tile and replaced it with an extra tile we had stored. This was one of those really good experiences - thank you Tim and Benjamin Franklin and thank you Angies for another reliable reference! I thought i was going to need a shower valve replaced after getting some bad advice from Kohler. The plumber was right on time and decided to try to remove the damaged screw first rather than replace the valve. After 20-30 minutes of fighting with it, he was able to remove the screw. Luckily the threads of the valve were not damaged, so he was able to install the new trim piece. I was prepared to pay several hundred dollars for a new valve, but instead, after using the Angie's List coupon, I spent $90. I will definitely use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing the next time I need a plumber. I'm hoping that won't be for awhile, thougshow more

My belief is... things will usually break or go wrong at the worst possible time. So when we had an energy audit done and they found unsafe levels of carbon monoxide being exhausted by our 17 year old hot water heater/tank, it was time to replace it before things got really bad... or deadly. I've used Benjamin Franklin Plumbing many times in the past and have always been happy with their work and prices, so calling them to replace the heater/tank was a no-brainer. And they came through, as usual. As since they were here... and since our sump pump was 12 years old, I had them replace that too.
