Barry did an excellent job of replacing our bathtub fixtures. He found ample room where other plumbers had said we needed a bigger access hole. He had an alternate spout for diverting water to the shower and did not mind replacing a two-handled fixture with a two-handled fixture. He came the day we called and was very pleasant. The job was more involved than they originally thought it would be, but they were able to complete it that same day anyway. Took time to answer my questions as well. We have been customers of "The Waterworks" for years and normally have been very satisfied. That's why we called them when one of our bathtubs was having some problems with the shower diverter working correctly and the drain easily getting backed up. The actual quality of work and professionalism of the technician were fine. Our big problem was the price. Looking at Home Depot and Lowes, the parts installed in our bathroom could not cost more than $50. This means the cost to Waterworks was probably much less. Waterworks does not normally break out parts and labor, but charges per work item. This usually isn't an issue, but for whatever reason the work performed at our house only took 30-45 minutes, but they charged $485 for the job. Even with tax and parts, this is $400 of labor for 30 minutes of work. Even attorney's don't normally charge $800 per hour. I called Waterworks customer service twice to ask about the charge, because normally they've been very reasonable. The person who answered the phone said it did sound like a lot, but we would need to talk to a manager to address things. They took our phone number and said a manager would call back within two days. Now, more than two weeks after the last call, we have still never heard back. While we're not ready to call the better business bureau, we are not planning on making Waterworks our first choice of plumber in the futureshow more

We were impressed right away with Mike's interest in what *we* wanted, rather than selling us a package. And since he's experienced and we're not, Mike offered suggestions that we would never have dreamed of, like replacing the bathroom window with glass blocks and a small window vent as well as a folding teak seat. Mike and Ben worked with us every step of the way, adjusting to the inevitable bumps in the road that all construction projects must endure. I am very pleased with my new tub and shower. Everyone I worked with from Michele, the office staff and the installers were very professional, timely and helpful. The work was done in July 2007. Had or could get all components. I didn't have to shop for them. Communication gap between estimator and installer. Shower door frame was different from what I saw in the show room. Flooring was different from my selection, but satisfactory. This father/son team is great. They showed up on time and got right to work. They knew what they were doing and were efficient and creative in solving some problems (outside faucet replacement parts were no longer available but they knew how to use other parts to fix the leaks). The entire project went as planned. They started about 8:30am and finised about 6:00pm. One of the two men worked on the Kitchen drain and washer discharge project. This was completed by a little after noon at which time he left. The other plumber stayed to complete the bathtub/toilet piping project. He finished up by about 6:00p.m. Both men were very professional, courteous.
