The people who came out to prepare the base did a very good job. Very nice and good at what they did. They were timely, polite, professional. It was so hot out, but they just did a very good job all the way around. Everyone I spoke with at Beachy Barn was very informative and patient with my questions. We were lucky to contact Beachy Barns during a sales event, so we got an even bigger bang for our buck on their quality product. Looking at the typical sheds sold at home improvement stores, then the product Beachy Barns constructs, there is no comparison. Our Beachy Barn shed has weatherproof siding (no maintenance!) and many optional features, like shelving and rods to keep the doors open. Best of all, it was a stress-free purchase, in that they did all the construction and installation. They can recommend people to put in a stone base; we talked to one gentleman who was honest enough to persuade us not to do this for our situation. We had contacted 5 barn builders to get estimates for a horse barn and a storage barn. There were 2 companies who never did respond to us. John put together drawings and estimates for us very quickly. After meeting with him, we chose him to do the work for us. He gave us good suggestions on some things we had not considered. His price was very fair compared to the other estimates we received. It is very evident that he takes great pride in what he does. His communication throughout the project was fantastic. This is the third barn they have built for me over the years. The first one was 16 by 20 and was built in 1973. Three to four men came out and built the barn in a few hours. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. From our initial calls and visits to their location to look at examples of their barns and options, to the finished product. Every step was easy and went smoother than we could have hoped. The finished product is exactly what we wanted. They returned calls when they said, they were available when they said, they were up front about all costs and were as low pressure as you can get. We visited the contractor's offices and looked at sample storage barns. We told the contractor what we wanted. He prepared an estimate. We signed the estimate. The contractor said they would pre-manufacturer the major components and then assemble on site. The contractor beat his schedule by 50%. The cost was what the estimate said it would be. Beachy Barns provided a storage barn customized for my needs, even to the point of placing the loft at the best height for me to walk under but still be able to reach items stored there. (I'm very short) The quality is fantastic. It's been in place 2 or 3 years now. It looks as good as the day they delivered it and always feels dry and "tight" inside. No drafts, no leaks, no sign of vermin intrusion, although I'm pretty sure there are critters living under the shed. Delivery and placement was also excellent. As it turned out, the barn was too big for the place I had planned for it. It would have fit, it would have just looked bad. The delivery man had zero problem with moving it for me. I did catch the problem before he'd put it on the ground but still, he was friendly and professional when I asked him to move it to another spot. I WENT TO THEIR BUSINESS AND WAS ABLE TO ORDER THE BARN I WANTED IN THE SIZE I NEEDED. THEY TOOK MY ORDER AND SAID I COULD PAY WHEN DELIVERED. IT TOOK 5 WEEKS TO BUILD, BUT IT WAS DELIVERED ON THE DATE PROMISED AND HE EVEN LEVELED THE BUILDING SO THAT THE DOORS WON''T SWING OPEN OR SLAM SHUT ON THEIR OWN. EXCELLENT BUILDER! I looked at a lot of shed builders and the sheds at the big box stores. Most were very poorly built. Beachy Barns builds a shed that is superior to all those and at a descent price. Unit was built at Jonathan's shop and delivered to my home. I really like his designs and the thought that goes into his sheds. He is easy to work with and helped me with questions on preparing the base as I did that portion myself. I feel you get a better product from Jonathan than what I could buy elsewhere at a price that was not that much more than ordering a kit which I would still have to take the time to assemble. I couldn't be happier! John and Pam are perfectionists! We contacted Yost to inquire about a barn/garage by email, I was immediately contacted by John and arranged to see examples of both in progress and completed structures. The attention to detail was evident immediately with the structures. He completed an on-site evaluation as to where we wanted the structure and provided me with multiple options of what "could" be done as far as placement, doors, height, etc. We finally settled on a design and layout of the driveway to access the building. We sat down to choose all the colors (we never knew there were so many places you had to make color choices, we just figured you chose roof and sides), and discussed the timeline for the entire project. Clearing began immediately, and within days, we had a driveway to our future structure...and waited for the trusses (commercial loading) to be delivered. Finally the day came to dig the holes....everything was going better than I could ever hope for...but mother nature threw a curve, the ground in one corner didn't have a good base. John called me and we discussed the best options; he brought out a huge posthole auger and we inserted even larger pucks in the ground to stabilize the posts. He felt (and I agreed), we needed to over-engineer this so no settling would ever occur. Once the posts were set, and the trusses installed, it became even more evident that John and Pam were perfectionists. Some of the sheet metal was scratched and dented, but neither of them were going to allow the pieces to be installed...they demanded the supplier fix their error. Even though this was not their mistake, they took it personally as if they (not the distributor) were responsible for the damaged sheet metal and delaying completion of the barn. John and Pam had almost daily contact with me as to the progress, and when the building was completed, I was in total awe...it surpassed my expectations! The building is perfect, the next step will be to concrete the floor.... :-show more
