We caught the company at a busy time, as we were delayed getting a couple large trees removed first, and it looked like we were going to be waiting more than a few weeks, but they managed to get there way earlier than I expected and only needed a day to excavate and remove the old sidewalk including massive roots below, fill in with road base, and form the new sidewalk. The next day they laid rebar and poured 6" concrete. The 3rd day they removed forms and backfilled the new walk. It looks great!
Description of Work: Broken sidewalk excavation and replacement - over 350 sq. ft. with large tree roots underneath.

I provided the contractor with specific plans for the job concerning the rebar support in the footing and walls along with the wire mesh I wanted in the floor. This was given to him in writing and he indicated that it wasn?t a problem. When his employee?s showed up at the site he had not relayed the information to them and they didn?t have enough rebar according to my specifications. They had to use the rebar they brought for the walls to complete the support for the footing and then bring more the next day for the walls. When they poured the wall they weren?t prepared for the weather and had nothing to protect the concrete from rain. I had to cut up my wife?s plastic tablecloths to protect the concrete. When it came to pouring the floor they used the wrong wire mesh for the floor, I called the contractor to tell him it was not what I requested and he threatened to kick my butt. I fired him. He then called me back and apologized for the threat and asked if he was still fired. I told him that if he would complete the job according to my specifications the he could finish it. His employees did good work but were unprepared for the job. If they would have had the specifications I had given the contractor in writing then I think they could of easily done the job but had bad leadership.
Description of Work: Formed and poured a footing, foundation wall, and floor for a 28x40 building

The slab poured out nicely in the summer of 04 and was finished properly; however, beginning in the winter of 04 and ever since, the slab has deteriorated badly. Twice I talked with James about it, and twice he told me he would take care of the problem. To my knowledge he has never come to look at it and I doubt if he ever will without legal action.
Description of Work: The company poured a slab in my parking lot.
