I was working with an elderly lady helping her for a property rehab. He took advantage of her. He took money that was given against advice from the both of us. The habitat manager gave it to him. We said that we don't want him to work on it, because he has such a horrible reputation. Then the habitat manager said that we are were are on our own to get the money back. I eventually, after a couple of lawyers said they would help. Then finally after 7 months of having $5000.00 of her money and not doing the job, he gave back the exact amount that he had. She had to get a loan to get the job done so she is out of the interest. The Attorney General's office could not hold him accountable because he had no contract with Habitat that was breached.
Description of Work: I had a horrible experience Laramie Valley Contracting.

I chose Laramie Valley Roofing because they were local. After a large hailstorm a number of companies descended on Laramie to replace roofs. I chose Laramie Valley because they were one of the few local ones doing the work and saying they could. I specified that additional water barrier had to be installed in north-facing valleys and also requested 50 year shingles. This was agreed to in the bid estimate. They then did the roof a few weeks later. The following winter we had major leaks - from the valleys and ice dams - the reason for the requested additional water barrier. I called to complain and inspection in the attic suggested the additional water barrier was not installed. First Laramie Valley claimed they had no such request for additional water barrier and then claimed to have installed it anyway when I produced the bid. They refused to remove the roof and repair it unless I paid extra. My insurance company allowed me to go to a new company as I did not want to contract with a company that had done a poor job to begin with. The insurance company also indicated they had trouble with this company from other jobs. When the roof was removed it showed no additional water barrier was installed and the roof did not have 50 year shingles. I paid for the new roof deductible and was very happy with the new contractor who replaced the shingles and added the water barrier. It is too bad such an unscrupulous company operates this way, taking advantage of people who try to do local companies a favor and also giving the industry a bad name. My advice would be to avoid this company. They clearly demonstrated that they are not to be trusted.

We needed a new roof on our house and had some insurance money to help with the cost. Arcenio Lemus came to the house and was very nice and pleasant, promptly bought materials and said he could do everything we asked for within our budget including installation of flashing and drip edging on the house, garage and shed. Once the work was done everything looked good but as time progressed we observed some leaks in the roof due to the failure to install step flashing between the garage and the wood shed. Later we also observed a leak in the roof at the house because they did not install flashing on the second floor dormer. Some of the shingles have lost all the rock and I am concerned that he did not install the 50 year Malarkey Legacy shingles that we contracted for. We called him to correct the shed and the flashing issues there but never saw him. We were later informed by others that this is typical and that it would not be worth the effort to continue contacting Arcenio Lemus to fix the problem and the cost to pursue a claim would be more than what it would cost to fix this ourselves. Do not use this contractor.
Description of Work: Used this contractor owned by Arcenio Lemus to put a new roof on our house, garage and attached wood shed.

We are now in litigation with Laramie valley Contractors. We recommend to ALWAYS do research on contractors and to never give money until the Job is COMPLETE and DON'T hire or trust hire Laramie Valley Contractors.
Description of Work: We had a severe hail storm late August 2011, requiring us to make an insurance claim for a damaged roof and damaged siding. Laramie Valley Contractors (LVC) were working on a house across the street from our home and a representative of LVC came over to give us an estimate of our home. After a few other estimates we chose to use LVC. Due to the amount of work in our city Josh , the representative of LVC, said that it would take time to get the work done. Josh stated that he could get our home done sooner if we were to give him the money up front to get the material for the roof and siding for the house and he would store it in our drive way. We wrote a check out and Josh cashed it but no material was ever delivered. We attempted to contact Josh several times. At first Josh used the excuse that they were finishing other jobs and would get started on our house as soon as they were done. After a few months Josh stopped answering his phone. We contacted the the police,as well as our neighbors across the street, who filled out a police report because of work that was not finished or began. We also contacted the owner Arcenio Lemus who stated that he new nothing of the contract and that he was not responsible for the work but would get ahold of Josh to find out what was going on. A few days later Arcenio, Josh and another employee named Miguel came over to our home and said that they would get the work done by December 27th. Arceinio asked for a copy of all the paper work, which we provided for him before he left and Arcenio told Josh to get as many men it would take to get the work done. due to the weather the job didn't start till the middle of January and only Josh and another employee showed up. The two of them ripped off the old siding and replaced it with new siding in about 5 or 6 days. Josh said they needed to go to another job and that he would be back to do a check list of the siding, pick up the trash and begin the roof a few days later but we never heard from Josh again. Many attempts of contacting Josh and Arcenio were made. After a few more months Arcenio again came to our home and looked at the siding and stated that it was a terible job.Arecenio stated that he was not liable to fix the siding or begin the roof but out of the kindness of his heart he would make it right. There were areas that the siding didnt match up,some areas where the siding bowed and areas were the siding was uneven and not finished. Arcenio then asked us what would we like for him to do and we asked that the job of the siding got finished as well as getting the roof done as stated on the contract. Arcenio said once again that he would make it right and will have the work done in a few weeks and had us pick out the color of roofing shingles we wanted. We never heard from LVC again and they will not answer any of our calls or emails. thru out this whole ordeal with the contract for LVC the owen arcenio Lemus continues to show he is not liable to finish our home. We are currently seeking legal action and hope that in the end that our home will be done.

In our one year lease with Laramie Valley contracting our experience was awful. In that year the apartment flooded five separate times, due to improperly installed appliances, plumbing and through a leak in the roof. In the winter, the pipes repeatedly froze leaving us without water They were working on the house next door and left a 10 foot high pile in the drive way. Our dishwasher was not installed correctly as they did not fasten it into the wall or fasten the counter top over it. The bedroom door fell off its hinges in our hands. Despite all this, at our move out they overcharged us on our damage deposit, trying to keep it all. We took them to court and won. To add a final insult, although we have a court decision in our favor they still have not payed. We have had to sell our court decision to a collection agency to get the money they owe us. The owner of this company is unresponsive, rude and clearly has no problem in ignoring the law in regards to paying his debts. I can not speak to their work as contractors but given our experience I could not possibly recommend them to any one.
Description of Work: Laramie Valley Contracting was the company that managed our rental property (1359 N 6th , Laramie, WY)

We called 3 roofing companies and Laramie Valley came right over saw our problem and purchased a tarp and covered our porch roof. This was before he knew if we were going to have him replace our roof. The work was done in 5 days and they cleaned up the site. We were very pleased and Arsenio was ready to answer any questions we had. We appreciated his on hands, positive customer service. Another company called me and asked why we didn't choose them and I explained we received a quote in the mail and didn't have any personal contact with their company as we did with Laramie Valley Contracting.
Description of Work: We had to replace our roof and the back porch roof was rotted and when it rained it leaked.
