The technician arrived on time. He removed his shoes when he entered the house (much appreciated) and went right to work. He explained what he was doing and made sure I understood how the furnace worked. When his inspection and testing were complete, he cleaned the entire area around the furnace. He discussed furnace filter types and pointed out several things I was unaware of. He was very polite and respectful. I would call them again.
Description of Work: We wanted our furnace inspected in preparation for winter weather.

Buyer Beware!! If you are looking to purchase a new heating and cooling system, we would advise you DO NOT buy from Fireside Total Indoor Comfort. This company does not honor their warranties or guarantees, lies, does not return phone calls and does not hire qualified technicians. We have had nothing but trouble with them since they first stepped foot into our home. We have had many issues, but the most recent and main complaint is the brand new thermostat that came with our system has gone out THREE times since we purchased it. Every time it has gone out, we have had to make many phone calls and messages to Fireside. No one ever returns your calls. We were told when we made our purchase that they had 24/7 emergency service. On two of these occasions, the thermostat/furnace went out in the middle of the night. No one answered their "emergency number," even after we left several messages. The most recent episode was December 2016. This was the THIRD time the thermostat/furnace quit working! We had been away all day and came home to a house with no heat. It was very cold and stormy out that night and we were freezing. We tried calling their "emergency number" and their office several times and left several messages to call us back ASAP. It was obvious no one was going to us back and we were freezing, so we contacted another company to see if they could come take a look. They answered their phone immediately and were at our home within 30 minutes. They immediately noticed the problem. They said whoever (Fireside) installed this thermostat had wired it wrong and it was extremely hot! He said he was surprised we did not come home to a fire! Luckily, we still had the thermostat from our old furnace so they hooked that up for us to get us by until Fireside contacted us. This happened in December 2016 and it is now May 25, 2017 and Fireside has made no effort to contact us to resolve this issue. Take note, we also found out the technician from Fireside that wired it wrong was also a new employee and had not yet completed his training. He did not act like he knew what he was doing and he had no one supervising him. Since Fireside would not return our calls, we filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in January 2017. Fireside rejected the complaint and made no offer to settle this. It even went as far as taking them to arbitration and they refused arbitration! You would think they would to something about it to help protect their business rating but apparently they do not care about it or their customers! Fireside refuses to replace this thermostat that we have a ten year warranty on because they said we had someone else work on it. The other company did not do any work on it. All they did was hook our old thermostat back up so we could have some heat. We would not have called the other company if Fireside would have returned our many phone calls! What are we supposed to do? Sit in our house and freeze along with our pipes? We even have phone records showing we placed these calls and left messages. We are supposed to be covered for 10 years on parts and labor. All we were asking for was a replacement thermostat. We can't even fully use our full system because the humidifier that came with it will not work with our old thermostat. Our home almost burnt down from this careless mistake and Fireside won't even do anything to rectify this! We are easy going people and usually never complain, but after this nightmare, feel we need to warn others. We will NEVER deal with Fireside again and will make sure to tell all we know to do the same. We would not wish dealing with this company even to our worst enemy. Also, one more note. The other company that came to help us, found out how much we had paid for our system and said we were way overcharged. He said we should not have paid more than 10,000.00 and we paid 20,000.

Description of Work: We met with Justin Willard for a consult on a furnace/air conditioning special on August 5, 2014. During the consultation he informed us that our ducting was not adequate, nor was the unit we owned large enough to properly heat the house. At the end of the consultation, it was agreed that a register would be installed in the downstairs bedroom. An additional cold air return would be installed in the downstairs living room as well as an extra register. The furnace unit would sit where the previous unit had sat and the air conditioning unit would be moved to the end of the house on the corner so that the noise would not interfere with the use of our patio. We parted that evening with a good amount of information but nothing in writing. I emailed Justin the next day to get the specs on the equipment we had discussed and told him we were getting a second bid also. Approximately a week later we called Justin, let him know that we were going with Fireside (only because they offered financing and the other company did not). He came for another visit, we agreed on the units to purchase and accessories. All the details were written on a contract from, which Jenny signed. However, we were not left with a copy of that contract. |Installation Date: 9/15/14 |Crew arrived just after noon (three hours past the scheduled time, a courtesy call was placed) and began installation. The project began with Justin and another technician. Later in the day other technicians joined them. I was present in the house in my computer room doing homework. At approximately 5:30 p.m., Justin declared that the project was almost finished. We began the outside inspection. When we walked out the back door, the first thing I pointed out to Justin was that the A/C unit had been installed in the wrong location. His response was something to the effect of, "Oh yeah that is right. Dang it. We can move it if you want, but we cannot do it today. I don't have the time or the materials with me." **Note: The young man doing the wiring was outside on the patio. When I pointed out the error he actually stopped what he was doing to listen to the conversation. Whereas, I had already spent a day off work waiting for them team to arrive, I told him we would leave it for now, but if it proved too loud to leave on the patio he would come move it. He then told me that he was sure that the unit would be quiet enough to have on the patio, but did agree to come move it if we so chose at no addition expense to me. The crew cleaned up and the installation was completed. Again we were not left with a contract nor any of the owner's manuals/warranties. Justin said we would receive all of those in a packet when all the warranties and rebates were filled out by their office. That packet would include the signed contract, copies of the rebates, and the owner's manuals. NOTE: We had the system set to auto (both cool and heat) the A/C unit would not come on. When Justin installed the unit he told us a story about them forgetting to switch a unit on in a previous installation. When George went to check to see if the unit was turned on, he discovered that the fuse had not been installed into the unit. The fuse was sitting on top of the fuse box. George, being a mechanic, took it upon himself to install the fuse and turn on the unit. |We called just back about a week later because the unit was not cooling the house properly. Justin made another house call, adjusted the fan output, and agreed to install another register in the upstairs living room and the kitchen. He then drew a box in black sharpie marker on my white carpet to indicate where the register would be placed. We scheduled a date to install the additional registers. It was approximately the first week in October. At this time I do not recall that exact date, however, I do remember it was on a Wednesday. The date came and passed with a no show by the crew. I began calling the cellphone number that I had for Justin. I called through the weekend and at first, I was getting a voicemail. By mid-week, I was getting a full mailbox notice. I waited until Monday, and began calling again. Approximately mid-week, I called the office number

Description of Work: We purchased a furnace and air conditioning package at the cost of approximately $10,896 in September of 2014. All of the work on the original contract was not completed and the AC unit was intalled in the wrong location. We began having problems with the AC unit and dispite several visits from several different technicians the problem was never resolved. They do not follow through with their 24/7 emergency repiair. We had our AC go out on a Sunday with temperatures about 90 degrees. Our 18 year old daughter was three days out of major shoulder surgery. We were initially told that the tech would make the call out and then received a phone call saying that "it was not going to happen". We insisted that it was truly an emergency with our daughter convelecing from surgury and the exact words from Jason W. were, "I don't know what to tell you." When we had finally had enough with giving them the opportunity for a year to make the situation right and tried to invoke the 100% money back guarantee in September of 2015, the company refused to honor it. We are currently suing them to recoup our investment.

The sales call went as most do. Once he showed up. Shared the pricing of the product which was a bit over priced but I was willing to look past that. The sales person said he would have his installer come by to look over the venting that way he could give us a better idea of what our exact cost would be. He never showed up. I marked I would use them again because I didn't have the choice to say maybe and I didn't want to say no because I am using my first impression for the rating.

I got stood up the first day, these things happen but I wan't told until 5 hours after they were scheduled to arrive. Our second scheduled attempt went well. The technicians showed up, were very professional and did a good job. They were willing to answer questions, just what I was hoping for. Communication with fireside became very poor the day I signed the contract. Before that day I could get someone on the phone every time I called. After that it would be days before my phone calls were answered. When the job was done the second half of their payment became due. Nothing was communicated to me as to how they wanted payment, I supposed they would bill or at least call. After several days of my phone calls with no response their collections guy came pounding on my door. I have mailed the remainder of the money but was left very unimpressed with the administrative side of their operation. Overall the work done was satisfactory, the sales pitch was strong but the planning and communications couldn't have been much worse.

I had been out of town for a few days and came home on a Sunday afternoon to a minor disaster... ."smelly" water on my basement floor. Not wanting to mess with a phone service, and weekend "run-around" I was hesitant to make the call to the plumber. Much to my surprise, I was answered by an actual on-call technician. I explained my situation, and he came within the hour, entered my home (in booties to keep my carpet clean:-) and had my disaster diagnosed within minutes. He unplugged the drain, cleaned up the flood, and eased my anxiety! Because the flood was next to my furnace, he asked for permission to check my furnace and secure my safety before leaving my home. I agreed and am so glad I did. He found that my furnace was leaking harmful carbon monoxide, and needed to be shut off immediately. Following the original service call, Fireside came back the next day, and priced a safe and efficient system that was right for me and my home. The up front pricing made me feel in control of the situation and completely comfortable making this decision. They came back the next day and had my new furnace system installed and running within the day. I have never been treated so respectfully and honestly. Their professionalism was outstanding! I always recommend Fireside to all of my family and friends. If you are looking for an honest, respectful business to trust your home and family with, they are a top notch company!
Description of Work: Fireside answered a call, on a Sunday afternoon, and came to my home within the hour to diagnose a flood in my basement. After fixing the floold, and cleaning up the mess the flood had created, I allowed the technician to look at my furnace. During his "precision tune-up" on my furnace, he discovered that I had a very dangerous leak. Fireside presented me with several honest and reasonable choices. I purchased a new furnace from them, and had it installed the next day.

The serviceman was running a bit late, but he gave me a call and let me know that. When he entered the house, he immediately put on plastic shoe coverings (and yes, whenever he went outside, he took them off). He went straight to work and kept me posted on what he was doing since I had friends over while he was there. He explained to me what had probably happened with the pilot light and how to make sure to keep it on. Then he checked the carbon monoxide levels and was off. I felt Fireside was very professional in their interaction with me and my friends. He did a great job answering all my questions and taking care of things.
Description of Work: My furnace pilot light was not turning back on so I finally ended up calling Fireside to come check it out. The serviceman came and check out the furnace, got the pilot light back on, and check carbon monoxide levels.

The job went very well. There was a week delay due to the power company being unable to support Dwayne's schedule. I had asked for the bid last winter when I had fireside fix another problem. Although the work was not performed for 6 months, the original estimate was honored. I plan to use fireside for all my remodeling or construction tasks in the future.
