I would never recommend this person. I have a two page list that would keep a person in work for the next month. He came in and I started by showing him the electric fireplace that needed hung on the wall and he couldn't seem to grasp the concept of an electric fireplace, or hanging it on the wall, which is a home fashion trend (see photo of box, which keeps falling over and item will soon break if I can't get it installed). Then he told me I would need to install an outlet. The outlet was on the wall. I was pointing at it (see photo). He still couldn't understand hanging the fireplace on the wall. It is made to be hung on a wall. It is not a standing fireplace! Since he couldn't seem to grasp that I was basically asking him to hang a heavy picture for me, I decided to move on. I told him the most urgent project was replacing the front door. I've had two expert opinions and consulted with the local hardware store employees and was told it would be cheaper to replace both the screen and front door rather than to try fix them, discover the fix didn't work, then get caught in another winter with wind blasting through my house (I literally have to stuff cardboard around all four sides of the door to keep the wind out). I explained that I wanted/needed the front screen and door replaced for both practical and aesthetic reasons--the frame is old and falling apart, the paint is so thick in some areas it's in chunks, and both doors are in bad shape. He argued every point. I told him if he thought the door was so nice I could always have him rehang it on the garage where I spend a lot of time. He continued to argue, repeating about the insulation and the poor job someone did hanging the house. I bought it in March and have struggled to fix the previous owner's mistakes every day since. I don't need lectured on how someone else did a bad job, I want a new door! He spent half an hour lecturing me about how I didn't know what I was talking about and the people at the hardware store are "idiots" and insisted on having me step in and out of the house so he could show me how the door doesn't fit! I've taken pictures, consulted with others, discussed my options repeatedly and as I also explained to him--a family member gave me the money to replace both doors just to get it done before winter! It is urgent and paid for! He finally said, "Look, I've been doing this for 30 some years and if you think you..." I stopped listening to the "stupid female" lecture and left the room to get my list so we could move on to the next item. When I returned and he was still talking about how he knew more than I did. I want a new door. That's MY business, not his. Why would anyone argue with a paying customer who is standing in the doorway with a checkbook in her hand? I've been searching for a handyperson since March. I have everything in boxes, blocking my access to my house, waiting, and didn't even make it past the second item on my two page list with this man. He was being so argumentative that two neighbor boys who were riding by on their bikes stopped to ask who he was and what was going on. They couldn't figure out why he was acting that way toward me. After 45 minutes of listening to him ramble about things I've discussed with experts all summer long I told him I'd find someone else to install my front door. I also need screens on my windows (someone tried to break in when I was moving) and on both back doors. I have no air circulation in the house because I have no screens. I need help painting--there is so much work here for someone who wants to actually work and doesn't want to waste people's time, and I was not arguing about money or payment. I wasn't arguing at all. I simply told him "these are the things I need done." If I was a handyperson and someone asked me to replace their door, I would replace the door, I wouldn't argue about how nice the door is! Now I will spend yet another winter stuffing cardboard pieces around all four sides of my door to keep the wind out because everyone else I've called is booked until October. ! I had the money to pay him in my hand--I could have paid in advance! I have plenty of money for labor and everything I need for the jobs. I paid him nothing. I am no longer surprised that he had time available when everyone else was booked up!

Contractors Beware. On top of being a liar she completely misrepresented what happened. I know what an outlet is. I was asking her if she wanted it moved up behind the hanging so as to have the cord out of site. She needs to work on the concepts. The door was fine, metal with foam core, very efficient insulation. It was just hung poorly, I tried to explain to her why it was drafty and how to remedy it. She kept interrupting me to tell me what the"guys at Menards" say. If she just wanted a new door all she had to do was say so. Anyway, I'm not going to get in to this anymore. There is lots of evidence of other contractors working there and all have left in differing states of non completion. Would like to talk with them. I feel lucky to have gotten out of there before I got stuck there. Good luck to the next one who ends up there.

didn't take measurements, or even sketch room/rooms for estimate. Wanted us to purchase cabinets/appliances/and vanities with out knowing measurements we would need. Hence reducing the need for potential returns of things that would not fit. Seemed overwhelmed by request, I had idea images printed didn't even take them with him. called me rude and in considerate cuz I have a job and couldn't answer my phone.

[Member Name Removed] first contacted me a month or so ago. I tried to contact her but she never responded. Then approx a month or so she contacted me again saying that the contractor she chose never got back to her with an estimate. So we met at her mothers condo and she showed me what she wanted done I told her I get a labor cost in a few days. I got it done in a few days and tried to contact her after leaving amicably. I called several time, left messages with no response. After a week or so, I finally sent her an email that I had done the work and thought it was inconsiderate not to either tell me if she changed her mind or found someone else etc. A five minute phone conversation at most. She really must be busy. I was under the impression that it was a priority to her. This is the first review I've got for never having done any work. I've been doing this for over thirty years. I know how long it takes to mask off a living room two bedrooms and texture the ceilings. I don't need to take measurements etc, the same for laminate flooring, painting and the rest of it. I didn't know she couldn't use a tape measure. Had she asked me I'd have been glad to measure the cabinets and what not .Anyway. Contractors: Whinny A** MIllennial Victim Snowflake Alert!!! LOL
Gregg did exactly what we asked him to and did a fantastic job. Great to be around and very friendly. Will definitely keep him in mind for all future projects!

Greg Zellers contracted to remodel my bathroom. The contract was for labor only. I had told him before he began that I had to travel for work one week in May. He wanted to park a trailer on my lawn for the time that he was at my home. He got angry when I told him no, and he ended up parking the trailer on the patio. He told me I had to arrange for a dumpster from the sanitation department, which I thought was odd. The first two weeks went ok, but he didn’t get much finished. At the end of the first week, he got in a loud screaming and swearing match with his worker on my patio, and the worker quit. Before he started the job, he checked my fuse box. He told me that there was no room in the box for any more fuses, and he needed to add more for my jetted tub and heated floor. My uncle had put in another fuse box in my basement when I moved in, so he decided he could replace that with a bigger fuse box. During the second week when he was ready for the new fuse box, he said he couldn’t do it and wanted me to call in my uncle to put in the fuse box for us. My uncle was retired and elderly when he put in the first fuse box and was much older now, so I told him no. Then he told me I had to call around and find an electrician to do the work if I wanted it completed. Finally, another guy he hired part time completed the electrical work. The jetted tub required an access panel for maintenance, so he cut the plaster in my spare bedroom to put one in. Then he told me that he’d measured wrong, and it actually needed to go outside so now I have a white square in my spare bedroom instead of wallpaper. He kept telling me he was short of cash, and he couldn’t pay his guys and needed money. I paid him 12.5% of his fee six weeks before he started, 12.5% on the day he started, 25% at the end of the first week, and 25% at the end of the second week. I’d already paid him 75% of the contract for two weeks work, and all he’d completed was removing the old tub and vanity and installing the jetted tub. The third week was the week where I would be out of town. He wanted me to let him come to my house and work by himself while I was out of town and got angry when I told him I wasn’t comfortable with that. He got a small job on the Friday before he left that he would do in the week I was out of town. It was pouring rain on the Saturday before I left, and he wanted to get the trailer off my patio. He tore up my lawn when he pulled the trailer off the patio. I was expecting him back on the Monday after I returned from my trip, but he didn’t show up and didn’t bother calling to let me know. I figured he wasn’t finished with the other job, but I since I had taken the week off work, it would have been nice if he let me know. He called the Sunday after the fourth week, and asked if I’d be home so he could finish the job. I purchased most of the materials for remodel, jetted tub, vanity, tile, fixtures, etc. When he came back the fifth week, he said he needed $500 for materials. He was supposed to show me receipts for what he purchased, and I would pay him for the receipts. Even though he had no receipts, I gave him the $500. When he put in the heated floor, he told me I needed to purchase the thermostat. I told him I had no idea which one to get, and he told me to just ask the guy at Lowes, he would know. When I went to purchase the thermostat, the guy at Lowes said that he couldn’t recommend one because he didn’t know the size of the floor, the material used, etc. They got the heated floor and the tile installed the fifth week. On Monday (I work Tuesday through Friday), my boss called and said I needed to work the rest of the week because we had too many people out of the office. Greg said he would come to my house on Thursday and Friday nights to finish the grouting. He worked Thursday for a few hours. When he came on Friday, he noticed that my lawn care company had sprayed the lawn, and it couldn’t get wet. Even though there were other places he could have run the hose, he got mad and left. The next Monday, he still hadn’t shown up about twenty minutes after he usually came in, so I called him. He didn’t answer, but he showed up about fifteen minutes later. He told me he should be able to finish on Monday, but Tuesday for sure. He wanted me to give him more money, but I told him I wasn’t giving him any more until he completed the job. On Monday, he finished most of the grouting. On Tuesday, he installed the vanity, the shower curtain rods, and the light and plug-in plates. He told me that he cracked the tile where he put the shower curtains, and if they didn’t hold, he would come back and use some other way to install them. He told me he could finish in about two hours on Wednesday. I was skeptical because he still had to caulk everything, install more hardware, touch up the paint where he grouted, install installation outside the house for the tub, put back the bathroom door, and install the toe stop for the vanity. He worked for about an hour, then called me into the bathroom. The part of the toilet handle that pulled up the flapper was too short. He told me that I probably couldn’t find one at Home Depot, but I could go around to plumbing shops and see if I could find something. I told him I wasn’t sure what to get and that’s what I paid him for. He got angry, said that I bought the wrong handle, and that he was leaving. He made several trips back and forth to get his tools, etc., muttering under his breath louder each time, and it was starting to freak me out, so I finally locked the door when he left. After about fifteen minutes, he knocked on the door. I went to the door and talked to him through the door. He had the thermostat to the heated floor, and he told me he’d give it back to me if I gave him a check for the balance of the contract and materials (he said I stilled owed him $300). I told him I’d just buy a new one. I figured he’d calm down and come back and finish the job, but the next week I got served papers that said he was suing me for theft of labor and materials for the balance of the contract, $900 for extra work he performed, $565 for materials, and court costs. He left before he finished the contract, tore up my lawn with his trailer and wore a path in my lawn around the patio, left a big square of white in the middle of the wallpaper in my spare bedroom, and sued me. His contract also stated that he had to texturize my walls (which were already textured under the wallpaper). He spilled paint and cement on my bathtub and paint on my kitchen floor and hall wall. When he left, I noticed the big wall that he painted didn’t have texture. I noticed some dirt on the floor of my bedroom, and when I looked closer, found dried cement on the floor and the bottom of my dresser. He had no business in my bedroom, and it creeped me out.

I have asked Gregg many a time over several years to work on projects associated with my rental property. I live out of state so it is always a challenge to find good people to handle what needs done at my property and it's not always just simple stuff. Gregg has excelled at his knowledge and his rapport with me and he has my trust 100%. Greg and I are on the same page when it comes to what needs to be done and Gregg is a quality orientated individual that I am happy to be associated with.

Overall went well. The project did take longer than I had anticipated but Gregg did come in under budget. He made a couple recommendations for the stairs which I followed and it gave the deck a nice touch. Gregg communicated via phone, text, and in person, regarding the project and answered questions that I had. He provided me catalogs to generate ideas for the project. He did run into some unforeseen issues that hindered progress of the project namely his work truck went into the shop which delayed the project for several days. He did communicate about this delay. The drywall work inside my house included repairing a hole basement ceiling from a leak from the upstairs bathroom as well as finishing work on an upstairs bathroom where I removed a partial wall. He did excellent work with this and can't distinguish where the repairs were done. The overall B rating was simply due to the length of time it took for the work to be completed.

It went good. He did a good job. He showed up when he said he would. We did have one delay due to bad weather, so that didn't have anything to do with him. We had to take out 3 yards of dirt that was removed by wheelbarrow. He is efficient and knows what he is doing. I thought about the doing the work myself, I would probably be trying to get it level. He would check every 2 days to make sure it was all coming out level.

He did great work, saved us some money, and paid attention to detail. He knows codes, and knows how to do a very high quality job. I was very satisfied and would absolutely again for any kind of remodel work. He's a Navy cb which is where he got most of his experience, but he really just does a great job.
Description of Work: He put on a sunroom addition for us. It was actually a conversion of our porch/deck.
It was phenomenal. We knew that he was going to be moving back to Cheyenne and we asked him to come and do this work for us, even though it would take about 4 months. I had previously hired him when I lived in Texas due to the quality of his work I requested him again. He's amazing, his workmanship as well as his work ethic. He not only shows up on time, he shows up early and ready to start when he said he would. I can't say enough good things about him and would absolutely hire him again. I would recommend him to anyone needing any kind of work done. He makes fabulous decks too. His work is simply amazing.
Description of Work: In March of 2012 during the economic downturn we purchased a short-sale home. When we moved in, the people who had moved out had removed everything that wasn't bolted down including toilets, water heater, fans, lights, etc. They also left many holes in the wall. We hired Gregg Zeller and he came in and made everything look spectacular. He is a tremendous finish carpenter, and he built all of our cabinets and bookshelves that are built in. Also, he did all of the electrical for the home including adding new breakers, including the surround system as well as the washer and dryer. He did some of the finish plumbing after we had gotten the lines moved. Also, he did a new baseboard and crown molding which was beautiful work. There was a lot of painting that he did, 187 gallons worth. On our deck, he updated that and did multiple items of deck maintenance. He also did a cover over the patio work that he had done that blocked most of the light on our patio. We have a office in the home and he built the hardwood bookcase for it. He installed all of the toilets and also did some of the tile work. He also laid some of the hardwood flooring for us.
