My husband and I hired Hyaltitude Contracting in Laramie, WY. From the second month, we noticed billing issues; we needed clarification but were disappointed in the responses. Problems continued to worsen each month. When we brought this to the owner again, he reluctantly agreed to remove the 15% surcharge he was unfairly charging due to double or triple dipping. When communicating with the owner, he was rarely aware of up-to-date work. He was also rarely present on the job yet billed as though he was. Though the owner was often informed of his need to participate in and run the job, we were ignored. His foreman quit three-quarters of the way through. Almost every day we were finding out work that needed to be corrected. The owner charged us for shoddy or inaccurate work at our expense. From the beginning, we highly suspected we were charged for hours, days, and weeks for errors that his team made. As weeks went on, our hired help and a couple of his employees let us know our suspicions were correct. I hired help due to my husband's stroke in the Fall of 2023 when the project was still nowhere near completion. After seventeen months of Hyaltitude milking the project and us for payment, we stopped payments. We informed the owner we would "square up" when the home was finished. Amazingly, a month later, their portion was completed; We were wrongly charged for parts of fuel, labor, material, time, and landfill. The amounts on some items are strangely split amongst other clients. Many of Hyaltitude's contractors did shoddy & unsatisfactory work that had to be corrected. The owner knew this and said he would repay us for having to bring in our subcontractors -which we paid. He has not reimbursed us as discussed. He says things verbally and then denies saying them. So much so, that I would only communicate through text or email. Hyaltitude needs to pay for our supplies & materials that his crew lost and that we were forced to replace. The odd thing is those items showed up at the end of the job when it was too late to return most of them or we had to pay restocking fees, and some products we were just stuck with. Many of these supplies were for features that were a unique part of the original intent and design that we had to forgo due to being too "late" to incorporate into our home. Much disappointment and waste. We were told we needed a new roof, etc.. not sure that was necessary at this point. The owner claimed the slight curvature in the home was the cause of delays. This is false. Professionals who worked with me said the slight curvature is about skill and experience. We tried to work with this company to "square up" on the final payment, but he would not go over his contract or invoices with us. Our home is beautiful and is finished right because I hired subs of my own. Due to my husband's health, I had to move him to a much lower elevation, and we were forced to put our house for sale. The contractor refuses to review invoices in good faith and square up on the credits for allowances such as tile, doors, etc...We felt trapped in a nightmare with this company. There was no accountability on our project with the contract we signed. Working with Hyaltitude caused unnecessary spending of money and so much stress to us
