CPU VENTURE TECH

The staff is CPU Venturetech is very professional and the price I was quoted was fair. I was unable to access the Internet on my computer and called several computer repair companies. I went with this firm because I was told if I could get it in by 8 AM, they would have it back the same day. After several calls, I was told it was ready one week later. I was told they removed McAfee from my computer and they tried to sell me a virus protection they are a distributor for, Vipre. I do not question that the one they recommend is better and I believe them. I told them I had paid for a yearly subscription to McAfee and would contact them in 10 months when it expired. When I got the computer home, I could access the Internet, but not ANY pages that included a log in. So my msn mail, gmail, bank access, blog admin, etc. are now no longer accessible to me. Once again, I can understand it was a simple mistake for them not to check this before sending home.I called back and they said it was because McAfee had been removed, which I had not asked them to do, but they said they needed to in order to fix my issue. I have no doubt that is true, but of course since they have "fixed" my problem, I cannot log back into McAfee online to download it or any other Internet page that requires a log in. I get the "white screen of death" as I have heard it referred to. They said I would have to bring it back in.. I said since they had created the problem of removing it and not checking it, I assumed I would not be charged for the issue they created. I was told I would be charged for a rework. Certainly does not seem right to me. In fairness, it is a business that has been around a long time, and my own experience may be a rarity. I would highly recommend looking for other reviews prior to using their services however. Once again, this is no reflection on the individuals that work there, they were courteous and tried to be helpful, so apparently they are good people with some bad policies in place.
