Description of Work: Moved all the Large contents of our house to our new address

Description of Work: Called the Miller Transfer and Storage company about 3 weeks before our moving date to set up a move from our apartment into a new townhouse. Emphasized that while we were living in an apartment, and it was only two bedrooms, that we had LOTS of furniture and a whole LOT of cartons to move. Informed the appointment secretary that we were in a 3rd Floor apartment and that there was no elevator, it all had to be hand carried down the steps to ground level. Was told they could do the job with two men and one truck. I suggested that it would be a LOT of things being moved and that two men might not be enough and was told not to worry, that they'd take care of it. Owner called me about a week later to confirm that we were, indeed, moving, told him yes, affirmed the date, and told him what I'd told the person who made the appointment about maybe needing more than two guys. Told him we had a LOT of cartons that would need carried down all those steps, and I even asked what size truck he was sending, that it would need to be pretty big. He said "a big truck, a whole moving truck. Don't worry, we'll get it done." Owner called three days before the move date to once again confirm the move. Told him yes, have to be out by the 1st of the month. He called today, the day before the move, and asked if he could stop by and get a better idea of what we had to move and the logistics of loading it. He showed up, came into the apartment and said, "Oh god, that's a lot of stuff." Proceeded to tell my wife and I that his crew cannot handle the job, that they are already working overtime this week and that the three guys he had planned on sending would simply not be able to do the necessary work to get us moved. He quoted me $98.00 an hour for the move. Since he backed out the day before the move date, we're now not only going to be moving 2 days late, but we are having to pay $225.00 and hour for an out-of-town mover since it is a last-minute arrangement and they are going to have to do it on a Sunday to get us on the schedule. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend using this moving company, they are clearly irresponsible with their scheduling and their professionalism.
