I had just moved to the area and the work had to be completed on a timeframe, as my pregnant wife and child were living out of town during the renovation while the house was going to be turned upside-down. From the beginning, Mr. Boram gave us the clear impression that he was doing us a favor by taking on the project. He eventually did agree to do it. We weren't impressed with the kitchen cabinet manufacturer that he deals with and decided to go with another contractor for the cabinets only. At the last minute, he calls to tell me that the job "wasn't the right fit for him". I asked him if it was because of the cabinets and he gave me a roundabout response and refused to do the job. With my wife's flight back to her "new" home drawing nearer, Mr. Boram had left me totally high and dry. I asked Mr. Boram if at least he could refer me to a reputable contractor and he said no. I had to start from scratch and the work was not completed by the time the rest of my family returned, forcing them stay in a hotel until conditions were safe enough for them to move in. I felt totally abandoned after he agreed to do the work and would never recommend him to anyone for fear that he could just walk away at any time. This type of don't-care attitude is to my mind extremely unprofessional. I would recommend only working with someone who actually wants your business, not a contractor that acts like he doesn't need you. Thankfully we now have a beautiful home with high-quality work and are very happy with how it looks, including the kitchen.
