I am delighted with these folks. I connected the returned snowblower to an extension cord and it started instantly, as it had when new. They had fixed the starter with new internal parts versus my D-I-Y plan to replace the entire starter, which part would have cost about $100 delivered to my house, BEFORE I would have had to replace it in the unheated garage (didn't know how), then change oil and spark plug, and check belts--in the cold. They fixed (rather than replaced) what I didn't know how to fix, did it right, and also did the service right. The delivery guy neglected to pickup my check, which gave me an excuse to drive down to the shop, give them the check, and see what their shop looked like. I'd driven by it many, many times. Very businesslike, nice facility, and friendly folks. I asked them "where have you been all my life?" Dean Jr. replied, "We've been here 30 years." I told them I'd found them on Angie's List, to which Dean Jr. replied, "I didn't know we were on Angie's List." I told him he'd get my Deere lawn tractor in the spring. I also inquired if he would fix my boat engine, but Dean Jr. replied, " We don't do those anymore, because you need to setup a 50-gallon drum of water to keep them cool." I'll also send my gas Ryobi weed whacker with the tractor in March. These guys can and will fix any small engine, except outboard motors.
Description of Work: 10 hp self-propelled snowblower. Electric start had failed 10 years ago, and I had been starting with recoil starter. Getting too old for this, and wanted it fixed. Needed annual service: spark plug, oil change. Wanted them to do that also, and check belts. I also wanted pickup and delivery. They are 7 miles away. They picked up the snowblower a couple hours after I called (Monday), and promised it back by Friday. I called on Thursday to see how it was going and they said "no problem," it will be back at my house the next day, I asked if I could pay by check and they said yes, and told me the amount. Friday, as promised, they called and said they'd be delivering it shortly. It was outside my garage in the early afternoon.

Description of Work: Dean's revived my in-poor-repair-and-dying walk-behind mower, got it into great shape, and didn't even make me fell stupid for how it got that way. Which I would have deserved, of course. Great work. I'll be bringing my mowers to them for years to come.

Dropped off my Toro riding mower. They got it back to me in less than a week during a very busy time of the year for them. I've used Deans 3 times in past with great results each time.
Description of Work: My Toro riding mower threw a belt.
