We gave them ~8000 in May with an expected order time of 8-10 weeks and then scheduled. We called them in July, said about two weeks. Called them in August, said about two weeks. At the end of Sept., called and said we wanted our money back and so they scheduled for the next week. When they delivered the materials for the siding, there were items missing. They promised to start in Monday. No show. Promised to start on Wednesday. No show. Promised to start on Thursday and finish up on Sat., because the windows were being installed on Friday. On Thursday, the contractor showed up and said supplies weren't all there and that they did not work in Sat. It would be Monday, and the house would be unprotected with rain expected. We cancelled the job and went to get out money back. We were told we had a contract and that they didn't have to get our money back. We left fuming with no choice but to call a lawyer.

The salesman was great very personable and friendly. The installers do very good work as well. However the office personnel made our experience a huge disappointment!! They are terrible at following up on phone calls. For 5 months I dealt with having to follow up on orders that had been either ordered wrong or lost in their warehouse. As well as cancelled service calls ect. Very unorganized!!
Description of Work: My order was placed on Feb 22 2013 Window World just last wk finished the job on July 31 2013. After numerous issues such as losing one of our windows, ordering the wrong hardware for our doors ( not once but 4 different times!). Failure to return/follow up on phone calls. Canceling scheduled service dates... It took them 5 months to finish what they started...

I was not happy with them. I was told that I could get the windows with the color I wanted and that the windows would come in white but they could be painted. Well, they could not. So now, I have got white windows on the inside and every other window in the house is brown. They said I could repaint this part but every other window in the house has a grid and there is nothing I can do about those because they are in between the glass. And their windows were white so I did not have to grid them. I did not have the need to set them in because that would even be more obvious. They also put two windows on the front of the house and every other window there is also completely brown and has a brown grid. My husband does not want to see it. Their price was a little high. They charged me $1,000 and I have only paid them half and they have never asked me for the other half. They told me that the owner would call me but he never bothered to. But they have tough windows, so I would give them that. Their windows were not broken and mine were broken in the front of the house. They were good windows, they were just not what I wanted. Also, their guys were very good and very professional but they did not help me. But they were definitely here when they said they would.
Description of Work: Window World installed three windows at the side of our house.

Originally contacted Window world last summer about replacing 4 windows and 2 patio doors in my home. An appointment was made for them to come to my home for an estimate, which the salesman cancelled at the last minute and rescheduled for a different day. On the second attempt, the salesman was 40 minutes late before he called to say he was running late, and arrived almost an hour after the appointed time. The salesman was pretty dismissive about installing French doors in place of my existing patio doors, and stated that while Window World could install French Doors, they would not warranty them. The salesman assured me that the fixed door on their sliding patio doors could be easily removed for moving larger items into the house. I indicated that I wanted to see one of Window Worlds patio doors in their showroom to confirm how easy it would be to remove the fixed door. The salesman agreed to meet us at the showroom on a Saturday morning. My wife and I went to the showroom and examined the door, and found that the fixed door could not easily be removed. We waited 15 minutes for the once again tardy salesman to show up, which he did not, and then we left the showroom for other errands that had to be completed. I complained to Window World, and asked for another salesman, which I received. I contracted for the installation of 4 windows on 9/20/12. I patiently waited the six to eight weeks I was told the delivery of the windows would take, then not hearing anything from Window World, I contacted them. I was told the windows were in (not told how long they had been in) and that the installation could be scheduled the week of Thanksgiving. As I was having a house full of visitors over Thanksgiving, I elected to select an alternate installation date of 11/27/12. The windows were installed during the day, while I was at work. When I returned home I was informed by my wife that 3 of the windows had gone in fine, but that the 4th window opening had been measured incorrectly, and that the new window had been temporarily installed. It would have to be replaced in a couple of weeks when the correct size replacement window arrived. Additionally, I noticed that the installation of the bathroom window had resulted in a fair amount of damage to the interior wall of the bathroom, and that sheetrock repair as well as repainting would be required. I contacted Window World about the damage to the wall, and was initially told that the repairs to the damaged wall would be completed the same day the replacement 4th window was installed, but that Window World would not repaint the damaged wall area in the bathroom. When I protested this attempt to not take responsibility for the damage they had done to my home, they reluctantly agreed to repaint the area of the damaged wall as well. The promised 2 weeks to get the correct window, stretched out to 8 weeks. After not hearing from Window World for this 2 month period, I called them again to check the status of getting this window finished and the wall repaired. Just as in the initial order for the windows, I was told the window was at the shop, but not how long it had been sitting there. I really have to wonder just when Window World would have contacted me on their own initiative and relay that the window had arrived. A date was set for the last window to be installed, the window was installed, in Jan 2013, and the wall damage repaired by the same installer who damaged the wall. He indicated that he would have to let the wall compound dry and would come back to paint the wall. He did return to finish the wall sometime later, added additional patching, painted the wall, and departed. The compound bubbled up underneath the new paint. I relayed this problem to Window World almost immediately, and they indicated that the installer would come back again to redo the wall, but they also indicated that I should be on-site at the time the repair was tried again. I can only imagine they want me to supervise the repair, or take responsibility for its continued failure. A new appointment was made for the repair on Saturday, March 23rd, anytime after 10:00 AM. My wife and I waited around the house until 5PM. No one showed up, and of course no one called to indicate that the repair would not be completed on that day. It?s now been another week and a half with no call from Window World about when I can expect the repair to occur. I don?t believe that I should have to chase them down to get this work finished. If they are this bad when I still have not yet paid the balance owed on the windows installed, I can only imagine how much worse the service will be once they have been completely paid. Still don?t know when the job will be completed, but definitely will not use this Window World again.

While we like the new windows and hopfully this will help on our energy bills, the time it took get them and get installed was unsatisfactory. I feel it could have been installed sooner.
Description of Work: had six insulated windows installed to replace old windows in our manufactured home with new windows having screens that the old ones did not have. My main complaint was the time it took to install the windows after the store received them from the manufacturing plant. We were given Hurricane Sandy was the reason as it put all their orders behind but I still don't feel it should have taken almost 2 mos from time they got the windows to install them.
