Description of Work: I am still in the process of working with this contractor. He was to start the job a week before he actually started. He has been given 1 week to finish job. Has been on the job 1 day since the start. Have tried to contact him continually and he will not answer the phone and will not receive phone calls. Have spoken to wife will tell me he is going to be at the house a certain time. I will go pass the house and he will not be there. We at this time are still fighting to get this job done. If its not finished in the 7 days he has been told he will be penalize. Still watching and waiting. ***update*** 4.5.2013 He came back after writing this review and worked two days. He asked for more money after the work. At this point we gave him $2,700 dollars. He came back but did no work after the payment of $2,700. He only came to pick up his tools and no work was completed further. He has only completed half the work. This contractor has taken advantage of us. We are looking for a contractor to come in and finish the job. This has been very stressful.

+ -1 moreI really liked them. I really liked the fact that he was the one-man show, although he had a helper. He was very punctual. He was really good. I do historic restoration. He went over lath and plaster to put the ceiling. I thought he did a really good job with that. He was very thorough. It wasn't through usual brand new contraction. He had to work around some perimeters. He went an extra mile because I was going to do the taping and the muddying. Then I decided to have him at least mud and tape the ceiling and he went ahead to do the walls as well because the machines would have been easier than it would have been for me. He was excellent. He had an issue one day where an employee didn't show up.
Description of Work: A-1 Drywall Dan's Remodeling put drywall in my house.

+ 1 moreThis was a nightmare. Contractor was supposed to drywall the top two floors of an historic home for a set price of $13,000, due in payments, 2/3 up front and 1.3 at completion. He constantly demanded more money, did not come to the work site for weeks, called and complained constantly about the work. He did some of the drywall but did not finish it and never started the interior stairs and door with ttransom. The small about of electrical work confounded him. He left the house full of debris. Stated supplies were costing more than he projected and needed more money to complete the job. Customer required receipts for supplies to determine if his assertion was accutate. He would never furnish them. In all my experiencies with contractors, A-1 DryWall/Dannys Remodeling was the most disreputable. He lied continually, failed to show up at the work site for days, constantly demanded money spewed debris everywhere. I would advise anyone thinkging of having drywall or remodeling done to avoid this contractor at all costs. After I let him go I got a new contractor who was professional, competent, honest and timely. What a difference!!!!
Description of Work: Drywall of two floors, was supposed to build interior staircase and door and transom; some electrical. Despite a specific contract and regular, timely payments, contractor NEVER finished the wook. Stuffed debris in duck work, abandoned job when he asked for more money saying it was costing more. Customer asked for receipts for supplies to verify; contractor refused. He was argumentive, rude, unprofessional and should not have a license. Complaint was registered with West Virginia Attorney's OIfice. A chekc of various county courts revealed the owner has been sued several times for failure to complete work, failure to pay suppliers.
