The woman who booked my appointment was very friendly and helpful. She patiently listened to my concerns about an issue I was having with a wood stove, and she was able to arrange for someone to come to my house the next day. The two men who came were very professional and courteous and took great care to treat my home with respect. They checked my wood stove and offered me advice regarding the problem I was having, and they cleaned two chimneys in a reasonable amount of time. They left my fireplace, wood stove, and surrounding areas very clean and tidy. Before they left I was given an itemized bill, and everything on the bill was clearly explained to me. I do have to say that the price was outside my budget, but I had never hired a professional chimney sweep before this, so I didn't know what to expect. However, I am still very pleased with my experience with Spike's Chimney Sweep, and I will use their service again in the future.

Once the crew arrived, the process went smoothly. They were polite and timely. Left things clean afterward. However, I was told that the crew would arrive early in the day and they did not arrive until approximately 3pm. There was no communication from them. In fact, I had to call them approximately 3 times in order to find out an update. My whole day was spent waiting on them to arrive. I will plan to use them again as this could have easily been a single occurrence of miscommunication between the office and the crew. Update: 11/21/13. I was home alone (young woman) when the crew completed the work and was informed that there was and quot;no linerand quot; from our woodstove to the chimney. On the invoice, it states that it is unsafe to use the wood stove without a liner and that the company would call with a quote. After receiving a quote of and quot;$2,200 + taxand quot;, I had a second opinion and was told that my chimney DID have a liner and that it was in good repair. After the 2nd opinion, I had my father confirm again that it DID have a liner. I do not have much knowledge of this type of thing myself, but do not plan to use this company again.

I have had a positive experience with them. The job that they did was effective and they left things clean. I was pleased with their work and I would call them again.
