Carrier Greenspeed installed. A/C worked fine. Install was 2012 and every winter, outside unit moans and clunks so loud its a nuisance to the neighbors and the coils freeze up (see pic) although there's supposed to be an auto-defrost. Bri-ton had to be called often. They would come out, punch some buttons on thermostat and never solve the problem. Got sick of them being in my home after a while. The last time they came out to tinker they never followed up with us. I think they just wanted to wash their hands of the problem. Not to mention they had to upgrade the breaker box and then blatantly mislabeled most of the breakers. I had to trace down all the circuits to re-label. I opened one of the electrical junction boxes they used and a wire nut fell off all the ground wires. When informed of these issues, the worker cavalierly said, "Oh yeah, we were getting pretty tired that evening." Baseboards were butchered (see pic) , ceiling drywall overcut. (See pic) This company has replaced their Carrier sign with a Trane sign. Wondering if that was out of choice or necessity. An 'authorized Carrier installer came to the house and pointed out numerous mistakes that were made: low clearance above outside unit and installed too close to house, noise dampener not installed on level. Believe it or not, I actually got references before hiring, I guess these days you cant be too sure. I consider myself an honest person and I would not be able to sleep nights if I knew I did this kind of thing to another human being.

They missed the piece in the furnace, it had nothing to do with what they came to fit but when they looked at it they should have saw what was there because the furnace has a drain in it to drain moisture away and there was always standing water in there and on the floor when that furnace run and whoever installed the furnace didn't put that drain in and I finally found it myself when I kept looking and I would kind of thought when they had the front off and saw moisture in they should have look and saw water but that wasn't what they were called for they were called for something different and what they were called for was fixed no problem.

These guys are somewhat competitive on their pricing, not out of the ballpark, but they are proud of Trane. Also Everything goes through Lowes. They are their installer and once you get a bid, you work through Lowe's for contract and Payment. Just an extra layer I did not want to deal with. Additionally, when i asked for system quotes, i asked for a couple of variation on systems, and they did not give me those answers. Plus, call me anal, but there were several misspellings on my proposal that led me to believe these guys just don't always pay close attention to detail. Not a sign of someone i want doing work on my house. Now the installers may be great, but i never got that far.

I obtained four quotes from local contractors to replace my old HVAC system plus add some extra ductwork that should have been done when the house was built. Bri-Ton Heating and Cooling was the subcontractor through Lowe's. Bri-Ton Hand C made appropriate recommendations for modifying and upgrading my old system and offered me the most value for the money of all the quotes. The new Trane XV95 series furnace and Trane XL18i a/c unit were installed over the past two days. The two installers arrived when scheduled and were very knowledgeable, professional, and diligent to every detail. All the old equipment was removed and the area was cleaned up before they left. The work was completed within 16 days of the contract being signed. I am very happy with all the work done by Bri-Ton Hand C and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Work was done as promised, when promised, with efficiency and expertise. Crew cleaned up all construction materials, and came back two days later to finish up a few odds and ends to complete the job.
