+ -1 moreTyler did a great job of coming up with a solution. Home is staying at temperature set. Added a min-split and it was a great choice. Justin the installer was great and went above and beyond to match outside ductwork with house color. Would recommend Steers most definitely.

+ -1 moreHad them out for a second opinion to see why our furnace wasn't working. We'd been told by another company that we could replace just our motor for $450 but that it might not solve the problem and that we should replace the whole furnace for $2000. First of all, Steers were SO nice to us. Second, they were able to temporarily fix our furnace on the spot!! Thirdly, they told us our furnace is in good shape and that we just need a new motor, which they could get us one for $300. ( a savings of $150!!!) I'm SO happy we called them and they are who we'll turn to for any of our future heating and cooling needs! I would recommend them to anyone! :)

My only serious disappointment was in the lack of response from the salesman and president of the company when I inquired about a promise made to me. I was promised the charges for a repair on my old A/C would be credited to the cost of a new one. I agreed to take the amount in furnace filters at retail cost (which would save them money). After several calls and emails concerning this, I was made to feel my concerns were unimportant by being totally ignored. I have been their customer since 1989 and thought I deserved better treatment. I will not do business with anyone who does not keep their word. I have to be able to trust those I deal with. I should have gotten the promise in writing but thought I could depend on their word. I was mistaken.

+ -1 moreOverall it went very very well. Evaluation, quote, cost, delivery and Installation were all agreed upon upfront and were performed as agreed. I got what I expected, a refreshing experience for us who have gone through the ringer in the past when dealing with contractors.
Description of Work: I had an old existing package unit (furnace and air conditioner together, located outside of the house with supply and return air ductwork. The old A/C compressor had failed a couple of seasons ago and we were surviving on window units in the summertime. A Steers Heating and Cooling professional came to our home and evaluated our heating / air conditioning needs. He arrived at the appointed time and did a thorough lookover of our existing system. He gave me a proposal for a new system and we agreed on it. The day that we had scheduled to do the job came and the technicians were a half an hour early! They got right to work and did a fantastic job of installation and testing. Installation required sheetmetal modification of the ductwork to fit the new system's supply and return openings. Steers also insulated the Return air duct (only Supply air duct was insulated on the old system) and fabricated a sheet metal cover over the ductwork to keep rainwater out (was also a problem with the ols system's installation). They re-worked the gas supply line and added a local electrical disconnect with proper conduit and fittings. The technicians that installed the system also gave us some instruction on the features and operation of the furnace and A/C package unit. We are Very Satisfied with the quality of the installation and the function of the system.

+ -1 moreCalled because the air wasnt cooling and freezing up. After return trips and making changes they suggested, it still does. My heater has had the same part replaced twice in a year and is not working again.
Description of Work: They made may trips to fix the same thing. They made suggestions that it was the installation of the unit after about the fifth trip. Changed that, still has not fixed the system. (that is just one unit). Another unit I have, they have replaced the same part three times and it looks like its out again. Will not call them back and try someone else that might be able to fix it on one trip, not a half a dozen and charge around $200.00 a visit. At first I gave them a grade "A". but after having repeat visits its down to a "D".

+ -1 moreMy mother had an air conditioner die that was about 30 years old. She called Steers at my recommendation. They came out and checked the air conditioner and she requested they install a new thermostat which she had needed for some time. They set up for the sales staff to come out and give her an estimate for a new unit. The gentleman was professional and was extremely helpful to her. This happened In the middle of a heat wave and with her being 81 years old, they were able to get in and get a new unit installed within about a week and a half. The service men arrived promptly at the time they said they would and went right to work. They were very professional and very considerate. Even in a torrential downpour that occurred that afternoon, they were able to finish that day. Outside of a new air conditioner unit, you would never know they had been there. Can't say enough good about these people. They have installed a furnace and air conditioner for us and we are well satisfied with their service and professionalism.

+ -1 moreThis was a great company to deal with from start to finish, from the first call until the time they were finished installing my new furnace they were very professional and helpful with information about why my old one failed and things I could do to prevent the failure of my new unit. I called many other companies around the area and all the others wanted to do was take advantage of me in a pinch. Steers got my heat back on fast and treated me right on the price I would defiantly do business with them again in the future!

+ -1 moreI think that their prices are high. Sometimes they are not as responsive to come to you when you need them. We asked them to come out and give an estimate to put in a new unit. They came out and looked and never got back to us about the price and stuff. We would use them for the time being.
