Acorn Tree Svc

Initially removal of the tree went very well. Near the end of the removal it was becoming dark and Acorn Tree Service determined it would not be safe to continue and that a special piece of equipment would be needed to remove the last 20 feet of tree trunk. The wood that was unable to be run through their chipper was going to be picked up and removed by an individual Acorn Tree Service had worked with in the past. I was assured that the remainder of the tree was going to be removed on Saturday 10/17. I was out of town from the 10/16-10/18. When I returned no further work had been done to the remaining tree trunk. Some of the large pieces of wood had been removed but not all. I did contact Acorn Tree Service on a couple of occasions the week of 10/19 and 10/26. Always got voicemail. The week of 10/26 I did receive a call back from someone at Acorn Tree Service stating that the rest of the tree would be removed "in the next day or two." I was away 10/29-11/1. When I returned the remainder of the tree had been cut but approximately 7 feet of trunk remained. Once again I called Acorn Tree Service and got their voicemail. When I received a call back I was told that the reason the tree work had not been completed was that there was a large staple imbedded at the base of the trunk and that I needed to remove it before they would return to complete the tree removal. I was also informed that Acorn Tree Service was "very busy" and that they could not give me a date to complete the job. That day I did remove the staple, called Acorn Tree Service and once again got their voicemail. I left a message letting them know that the staple had been removed and wanted to be contacted about when they would return to complete the tree removal as agreed. As I write this review it is now November 22nd and after leaving messages at least twice weekly, have not heard from Acorn Tree Service. At this point I am looking to contract with another tree removal service to complete the job that should have been completed 5 weeks ago. Foolishly I did pay the $2500 at the end of the day on 10/15. Lesson learned.

Showed up on time, had plenty of workers and worked until the job was done. The only break was about an hour for lunch. They were courtious and professional.

They came when they said, and with plenty of workers, were done and cleaned up in two hours.

I made an appointment for them to cut down or trim 4 trees. They came out and gave me a written estimate of $1775.00 for the service and gave me a date that they would arrive to do the service. I found out that the cost of repairing my roof was going to be very expensive so I notified Acorn Tree Service that I would need to adjust what service I had done, reducing the service to trimming one tree. They said that was fine. I waited for them to arrive on 8/6/14 and they never showed up. I called the next day and left a message. When they returned my call, they said that they had had problems with the scheduling and rescheduled for 8/15. They didn't show up or even call to say that they weren't going to be here.

Didn't show up on the first date. Rescheduled and didn't show up again.

They performed the job as requested and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. We were very pleased with their service.

They worked very hard shredding as they went. Then they cleaned up every scrap of wood. We were very pleased with the service and would highly recommend them.

We made an appointment to meet with the owner of the company. He seemed friendly and helpful. He gave us an estimate that we felt was very reasonable. After we scheduled an appointment, the company promply called us to set up the dates for the tree removal/trimming. They called us a day in advance to let us know there were working a day behind schedule. The company arrived at our property on the appointed date. We received compliments right away on the quality of their work. The neighbors, too, were happy about the manner in which they were able to take down the tree, which was located in a difficult spot between the two properties, without disturbing their property.
