Spiker's Upholstery

I brought several pieces of furniture to Pete Spiker to be reupholstered. To keep a very long story short, he did a shoddy job on most of the pieces, and I had to find another individual to repair them. He is holding over $2000 worth of furniture and money (which i gave him to purchase leather) to force me to pay about $400 for a botched job on a small sofa. As a result, I have filed at magistrate court to recover my furniture and money. He cancels deadlines constantly and makes up lies as he goes. One week he cancelled with me four or five different times. He claims to have called me about the botched sofa and left a "detailed message" but there is not record of it on my phone log or on my voicemail. Pete is a completely dishonest individual and he will make you feel like a crazy person. Choose another upholsterer such as Custom Upholstering here in Morgantown. The folks there are incredibly professional and honest and I have never had a bad experience with them.

I took a very simple chair to him to reuphoster. It has only a seat and a back. no arms. my husband paid him in advance -BIG MISTAKE! It is still not done a year later - it should not have taken a reputable person even a month to do. Everytime I talk to him he says it will be "next week" - 52 weeks later! and his excuse is his semstress is not there - he should fire her and find someone who can do the job. I WILL NEVER USE HIM AGAIN. I WENT THERE BECAUSE HE IS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOS AND I WANTED TO SUPPORT A LOCAL PERSON - BAD IDEA. TOTAL RIP OFF. I AM GOING TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT TO GET MY MONEY BACK - DO NOT GO THERE!
