The project was completed in 2 days. Fred was very prompt and polite making sure to clean up his work area before he left when job was done and apologizing for needing to come back a second time when he purchased a wrong sized part. He even went so far as to call when he was about there & to call him if I had any problems. I will call and ask for him for my next project. Work was completed and reasonably priced.

Prior to roto-rooter coming out we had another company out, who snacked the line which clogged back up 3 days later.they came back out and told me the line needed to be dug up and replaced at an estimated cost of 7500. We wanted a second opinion so we called roto-rooter.Victor, the technician who came out was very professional and knowledgeable. He camera the line and showed me the problem and explained it so I could understand. He estimated the cost way below the other company and had no problem coming get out on a weekend to fix it so we didn't have to take off work. His work was fast, accurate, also keep me informed as to what he was doing through out the day. When he was done he cleaned up all his mess and some left from the other Company. I will definitely call them back and ask for them to send victor.

Expensive, but I do think you get what you pay for. I have used this firm several times and have always found their technician's to be very good. At least you know it was done correctly and that's what matters most with plumbing.

When we realized there was a problem with one of our sewer lines, we called Roto Rooter for service, since we have used them several times in the past and were happy with the work. Our home has two sewer lines, so it was not an "emergency" situation, we were able to wait 2 days to have them come out. We knew the line would have tree roots, since this was not the "first" time we had a blocked line. The technician came out spent maybe 10 minutes on the line and said they would have to bring in the water jet, which would not be available for another 2 days and would cost $500. We agreed since we already paid for the first visit and it was coming up to the weekend, we had been without use of or kitchen & laundry for 3 days and didn't want to deal with shopping the fix. Two days later, they came with the water jet, cleaned out the line in less than 20 minutes. The technician was polite and on time. I was shocked at the price to have one line cleared, it did not require any digging, nor did they have to come in the house or remove any commodes. In the past we have used this company, when they did have to clear two lines and remove a commode, and the cost was less than $400. My complaint is in past service calls, the technician used a heavy duty electric snake, but this time the snake they came equipped with did not appear "heavy duty" or adequate for the job. I told the office when we called for service, that the problem was most likely tree roots and it was a 40-50 ft line. The technician opted for the water jet about 15 minutes into the job. Honestly, I am not sure if I would use them again. In the past, I always felt it was a fair price, but not this time.

Occupied rental property that needed sewer line replaced ASAP. Quick response and work completed quickly, expensive but I guess you get what you pay for. Line was a foot or so below compacted gravel parking area. Cold temps. They needed a back hoe to dig it up. If the unit was not occupied I could have used someone that would have been cheaper but that time of year Heating/Cooing/Plumbing businesses are very busy.

He kicked and broke off the septic tank pipe. We had somebody else out to fix the pipe. I don't think we should have been charged $135 service charge. I wouldn't have him back.

Everything was fine while the tech was here, but the technician didn't provide a written report of what was found. I didn't realize this until I looked at the receipt, after he left. When I called and asked for a written report I was told that it hadn't been provided because they were "very busy" but that a written report is usually given. The person I spoke to called the tech and got back to me the next day, but with a bunch of excuses. Unsatisfactory work performance, in my opinion.

They were incredibly responsive on the phone the day before. I had called somewhere between 10-20 people that morning. No one knew what to do about my problem. No one fully seemed to understand the problem. Got them from a referral from a cleaning business. The lady on the line immediately understood the situation. Scheduled me while we were still talking. The day of the appointment they called to see if they could come early, which was great. Arrived as planned. Fixed everything. Explained everything well. Seemed very knowledgeable. Looked over our entire system. Answered a number of questions, and offered some possible solutions to other problems. Offered to get an estimate on other/future work. Felt very confident with the work he performed. The service provider was very professional and courteous. My only complaint would be the price. We priced the pump by brand and model number at 35% less and I would have estimated the labor at less than half of what we paid. At any rate, we were able to pay it this time and have the peace of mind of believing it was done well.

Jim came out to help me open my plugged main sewer line on a Saturday evening and was very professional and easy to work with. He ran a video camera through the pipe so we could both see what condition the pipe was in. Marlin provided an accurate estimate of both cost and time, explained everything they would do, fixed other plumbing configurations that were problems at the same time, and did the work within a day. They also seeded the dug up ground and covered it with hay, cleaned up the work site, and took all the old plumbing pipes they cut out, which saved me the work of throwing all that away. They did everything they said they would do *except* one thing: they were going to route my sump pump discharge water into the stormwater line. Instead, they ran the sump pump discharge water line through the foundation block and dumped the water right next to my foundation. A few weeks ago we had a very heavy rain and my sump pump burned up. The contractor who replaced my sump pump noted that the foundation blocks near the new sump pump discharge site had water seeping around them. The sump pump discharge water that was being dumped next to my foundation was effectively flowing back into my basement and into the sump pump again. Marlin told me last June when the work was completed to call him if I had any problems. I called him several times and left messages explaining my problem, and I never heard back from him. I will not hire them again given their unresponsiveness and not keeping their word.
Description of Work: Replaced my main sewer line. They also fixed all the plumbing lines that come into the main sewer line, effectively correcting bad plumbing design from the last two plumbing jobs.

The Roto-Rooter tech, Billy (2656), was very professional, friendly, and took care of the problem very quickly. The service call was in Uniontown, PA. The first thing that was great was that he was able to come 2 hours earlier than scheduled which was wonderful for a clogged toilet. We explained what the problem was, and he got to work right away. He told us a worst case scenario, so that we could be prepared and there would be no surprises if he could not resolve the problem quickly. Luckily he was able to unclog the toilet with a auger type device and let us know that if any problems occurred later, they would come back at no charge and do it again. Overall we were very pleased with Billy, the service, and the results. The price was not too high and the job was done correctly the first time, and that is all I can ask. I would definitely use Roto-Rooter again and request Billy. Although our tech was not from the Morgantown office, I would not hesitate to recommend this company to others.

While the servicemen were very courteous and helpful, we were charged $102 for a part, an extra, and shipping for a part that we were told was obselete and they were lucky to find and order. When I checked the Price Pfiester website, they had 1479 of the parts available at a price of 11.59 plus shipping. We were also charged $109 for the service call and told they gave us a break since they were supposed to charge $189. Somehow these numbers just don't add up. If my husband had known how to remove the cover of the spigot, we could have replaced the cartridge ourselves for $15! They still have to come back and fix our toilet, but that will be a totally seperate charge. I don't mind paying a charge for service, but their charges are ridiculous for the amount of time they spent in our home. And we were without a shower for almost 5 days.

The water flow to the toilet was dreadfully slow caused by a worn shutoff valve, and I needed to replace it ASAP because we had family (2 adults, 3 grandchildren) coming that day. I pleaded my case to the secretary in the morning who said their schedules were full, but recognized my situation and said she would see if they could squeeze us in for a late day call. However, they called back later in the morning, and the repairman got to our house by early afternoon. He was very professional, completed the repairs promptly, to include installing a threaded end so the next replacement wouldn't need to be soldered. I couldn't have been more pleased with their responsiveness, courtesy and results.
