Davis Kitchen & Tile

They do good work. But they are not the customer-oriented company that they used to be. One of their associates measured tile for our shower floor projects and measured incorrectly, resulting in us purchasing $200 worth of tile (2 extra boxes) over and above what was needed. Since this was a "custom" product, they would not offer any refund, partial refund or take any responsibility. I feel that this is bad business practice, and I can no longer recommend Davis Kitchen & Tile.

They di a beautiful job, very professional, they give good suggestions on materials to use and the job was very well done.

The work was professionally designed and then conducted with care and precision. They removed wallpaper and painted walls, replaced damaged subflooring and tiled the floor, added backsplash, corrected issues with an over-the-range microwave and the electrical supply, and replaced the counter top and sink in the kitchen. They gutted the bath, replaced the tub, vanity, and medicine cabinet, and tiled the bath/shower and floor. Despite arriving on time and working every day, it bothered me that they worked on one room at a time rather than both at the same time. Consequently, the job took much longer than I anticipated.

Exactly as planned. Every tradesman was professional and polite.

The team was professional and the work is outstanding. Had a problem with cracked grout and they fixed it immediately. Not an install problem but grout company problem. I would highly recommend this company.

Work was completed sooner than originally promised. Great! Design was exactly what we wanted. Fantastic! The installer was amazing...very professional and precise. He was also respectful and a hard worker. BUT.... The only problem I have is with the cost of the installation. I understand Davis Kitchen and Tile have overhead and need to charge me more than the actual cost a privately contracted installer would have charged me...but it was seriously twice as much as what is typical from other privately contracted installers. Yes, I have hired privately for other tile jobs in our home that were even more involved that this one, and the work was done with excellence for half the cost/per hour. When I questioned the owner of Davis on the labor cost, he refused to budge even one dollar. His excuse was that they have a minimum labor charge for even a fairly small job such as ours. Wow...I wish I could charge my customers this way (no, wait...no I don't...) Bottom line: go to Davis to get great ideas and maybe even purchase your materials through them. But, do NOT have them subcontract your installer. Find someone privately to do this and, even if you give your installer a big tip, you will still come out WAY ahead.

My parents are adding a few upgrades to our rental townhome - they wanted to put in a backsplash in the kitchen and fix the countertop where it was drifting away from the wall. The contractor was very professional and did a great job with the tile and grout. The counters look better as well.
