They worked well as a team, and intensely and efficiently from 7-5, with only a short lunch break. Their cleanup at the end of each day was thorough. Communication was easy, cell phone or e-mail messages promptly responded to, and all were courteous, showing respect and flexibility. When I asked, they consulted, with no hesitation, with their engineer on the foundation cracks (another very respectful and communicative guy), and they had a garage door specialist fix those doors. A highly detailed bill was provided, including work hour logs and material receipts. You pay for what you get, but I'd hire them again without hesitation (and plan to). They are a class act!
Description of Work: Allegheny Restoration has a highly-skilled group of workers who did an excellent job on a number of major and minor projects around my home, including constructing a woodshed, installing paving stones under deck, putting in a covered drain in driveway by garage doors, installing French drain, replacing cement front porch/sidewalk (which got complicated), supporting cracked basement wall, replacing several windows, and doing a long list of small items. They power-washed the 23-yr-old roof, and impressed me when they said it did not yet need to be replaced, after patching a few shingles. They cleaned out, washed off and adjusted gutters, and added a new downspout where needed.

We contacted Allegheny Restoration to help us design and install a full bathroom and laundry room as a first step to building out our unfinished basement. They had come very highly recommended by several close friends and the price was within our budget so we did not pursue a competitive bid. What our friends told us, which turned out to be right on the mark, was that Allegheny would not be the cheapest in the area but the quality of their craftsmanship, the courtesy of their staff and the personal attention of their Project Manager would more than make up for any marginal cost savings we might find with someone else. The work included cutting through the concrete floor to install plumbing drains, leveling the floor, relocating plumbing and electrical for a washer and hot water heater, installing a walk-in shower, comode and vanity. They installed a drop ceiling, flooring, shelves, doors and all the trim work. My wife really wanted to do the painting herself and they were very accomodating, forecasting a window for her to paint two weeks in advance, which made her very happy. We were not in a hurry to get it done so Allegheny worked with our schedules to complete the work over the course of several weeks. In a short while, we just gave them a key and asked them to leave a note on their progress and when to expect them next. They left the worksite clean after each visit and hauled away the trash and debris. The quality of their work and their attention to detail was obvious. The job was completed exactly the way we wanted it. The two small items that we found in the finished work were quickly fixed. They worked well with both me and my wife throughout the job, resolving our disagreements on more than one occasion (usually in her favor). A very good experience for both of us and we are very happy with the project outcome. A short while after this job was completed, I noticed I had a leak in my roof. I asked them to come look at it thinking I was going to need a new roof. They figured out where the leak was coming from and patched it for me on the spot, and at no charge! As a result, I can defer the expense of a new roof until after I get my son through college. You can bet I'll have guys back to help finish my basement.
Description of Work: Allegheny Restoration designed and constructed a full bathroom and laundry room in the unfinished basement of our 20-year old home. They also installed a deep sink and drain in a partially finished garage. The work required cutting through the existing concrete floor to relocate plumbing drains in the foundation, relocating plumbing and electrical in the walls, and relocating the hot water heater. The end product was a fully finished suite ready for laundry operations and a full basement bathroom.
