They were fantastic and easy to work with. Very responsive and able to address the water damage ASAP. When the insurance company was giving us flack about payments, MasterDry worked with us to make sure they completed the job, even though the payment didn't happen as quickly as promised. They were very professional - I would highly recommend.
Description of Work: Lowes incorrectly installed our washing machine, causing flooding throughout our house when they did a test run (the machine was on the top floor, so it caused flooding up there and on the floor below). Master Dry was able to come out nearly immediately to give us an estimate and start working on the clean up.

Trusting the experience of the people @ Master Dry, we contracted with them to tear out the ruined carpet, wood flooring and affected dry wall and doors. They partitioned the affected rooms from the rest of the house and proceeded to dry the affected area. Their speed and thoroughness was indeed impressive. It is my hope that we never need the services of Master Dry again yet should the occasion arise...we would without hesitation call them and certainly recommend their services to any and all.
Description of Work: Our sanitary sewer lateral became clogged on a Sunday evening and sewerage backed up into the finished lower level of our home. Carpet, drywall, and wood flooring ruined and soaked. An area plumber came and snaked the obstruction from the line.Master Dry quickly responded to our call that night and came early next morning.

The process went very well. The crawlspace was very dirty, wet and extremely cramped space prior to the job. They came when they were scheduled and the job took them about 5 hours. It was fairly labor intensive given the space they had to work with and the temperature that day was about 20 degrees. I could've done the work myself but it would've taken a couple of weekends and in all likelihood not looked as nice. The space is now encapusulated and I can now go in the crawlspace with work clothes on and not really get dirty. They did a good job and I would have it done again. I had an estimate from another well known company who specializes in encapsulation of crawl space and they estimated approximately $12K to do the same job. Additionally, they were also going to require that I have a HVAC tech to remove all of the duct work (at my expense of course) prior to their team coming to do the job and then it would have to be re-installed. Another local contractor looked at the job and decided it would be too much work and he didn't want to even touch the job.
Description of Work: Master Dry installed 2" foam core insulation along the foundation walls from the ground to the joists in my crawlspace, then installed a 6mil vapor barrier covering the entire crawlspace and ran the barrier up the foam core insulation attaching it to the foam core. All the vents were sealed. A dedicated electrical outlet was installed in the space and a dehumidifier unit was installed in the space.

I believe this review to be for another company, MasterDry does not waterproof crawl spaces or basements. We do water mitigation or the dry out of basements after some sort of water infiltration.

I picked Master Dry because they were decently rated on Angie's list but mostly because they were available. (Many people had flooding issues after this storm, and one major company I called said they couldn't even do an estimate for two weeks!) I supplied my contact information to the Master Dry person on the phone, letting her know I was not physically at the house (a rental) and asking for advance notice of any workers' arrival so I could have time to drive to meet them at the house. The next day, I got a phone call from the Master Dry office saying the workers were at the house and no one was home. Fortunately, when I contacted the workers directly, they agreed to wait for my arrival after saying no one had told them to call ahead or given them any contact information. Two men, one clearly a new trainee, checked things out and said they should be able to do the remediation over the weekend, even though it was Memorial Day weekend. I did not get an estimate. (I attribute not noticing that and not asking for a written one to my panicked state.) On Saturday, the workers did call ahead to let me know they were able to begin the work, which they did: removing wet drywall and paneling and doors. One of the three people working was a middle aged, overweight woman who left exhausted well before the end of the first day, taking with her the truck that was supposed to haul away debris. The debris sat in the side yard of the house for two more days before being removed. The remaining two workers did stack it reasonably neatly as out of the way as possible. They sprayed everything with an organic antimicrobial solution and placed 10 large fans and a very large dehumidifier in the basement, saying they would run for 3 days and that I should then wait for an additional 3 days before beginning repairs. They finished and left at 5 pm on Saturday. On Thursday, the fans were still going with no word from Master Dry to me. By then I had informed my insurance company of the incident, and when I told my agent the remediation was still ongoing, the insurance company sent a representative from a Master Dry competitor to measure moisture left in the basement. They found it to be dry enough to begin repairs. Also, someone who had retired from doing this type of work happened to visit the house during that period, and ventured the opinion that 5 fans would have been enough for such a compact space. This matters since the fans bill at $30 each per day. I notified Master Dry to finish the job. The woman I spoke with was defensive, denied it had been 5 days (this was late on Thursday), and informed me that, since I was stopping too soon, they would not guarantee the remediation. On the plus side, I got a quick response and a dry basement. The lead worker was knowledgeable, pleasant and proficient, and explained everything to me. The damaged drywall and paneling was also cut out in a way that left neat edges, facilitating repair. Interestingly, in keeping with the phone denial, they ended up only billing me for 4 days, not 5, even though they did not pull the equipment until midday Friday. I am left to wonder, however, how long the fans would have run and been billed for had the duration not been challenged. Hence my hesitation to use them again or recommend them.
Description of Work: The half-basement at a rental property I own flooded when the sump pump stopped working in one of our recent torrential rains. Master Dry was available to come to the house to assess damage and dry it out.

A technician and a helper came out, pulled our dishwasher, cut a hatch in the floor, and inspected the floor joists, underside of the floor, and insulation, looking for mold. They then reclosed the hatch, reinstalled the dishwasher and reconnected it. The technician then gave us his diagnosis of our problem - a persistent mildew smell under the sink, and gave us his recommendations for a solution. He emphasized that his company does not do reconstruction, so this was a disinterested professional view of what needs to be done. For over two hours of work by two men, I felt that their "service call" charge was very reasonable. I would certainly use this firm if I ever have a mold problem again.

A second floor pipe froze when the heat went out. The water traveled from the second floor to the first floor and the basement, touching the entire back half of the house before being detected. I turned to Angie's List and found MasterDry. The MasterDry team was responsive and reassuring. We were out of the country and required some special hand holding like communicating with the plumber and insurance, but MasterDry didn't hesitate to help out. When we returned we worked with several technicians who were knowledgeable and professional throughout the process. They tore out and removed all the wet carpet and flooring, drywall and cabinets that were damaged then brought in several industrial sized fans and dehumidifiers. They also used some natural mold prevention chemicals that we safe with the kids and pets. At one point there was a miscommunication with the office about the extent of the damage. With a project this size, this can happen and is excusable when quickly remedied. MasterDry not only quickly remedied it, but went over and above to make sure this was corrected, then they closely monitored the project to completion. I hope I never need this service again, but God willing and the creek DOES rise... I will call MasterDry. Thanks team!

They brought in huge fans and dehumidifiers to remove all water, coming in daily to check on progress and reposition the equipment. When dry, they treated for mold and removed all damaged carpet and drywall. They were careful with all the furnishings and electronics in the rooms and left things in good shape for the construction crew.

I found Masterdry on Angie's list after hearing all the nightmare stories about the corporate clean up specialists. They arrived promptly and spent 11 hours doing a meticulous job of making my house inhabitable. Ben, James, Dave and Steve are all serious professionals who strive to do the best job possible. I would recommend them to anyone!

I called on a Sunday, surprised I got a person on the line. Carrie was very professional and had the willingness to help right away. She took her time explaining how they can help clean up the water and sewage. She inquired if we have children in the house and made sure we had running water to see how much of a rush she needed to get someone out to clean up the mess. She didn't want to have to charge us double since the plumber wasn't coming out until the following business day and having the possibility of another flooding episode. On Monday, Ben showed up first thing in the morning to get started on the clean up. He was also very professional. He surveyed the area and provided a quote that was very reasonable for the work that needed to be done. He finished within a couple of hours and even hit a couple of other areas that weren't discussed prior as a precaution. I am very pleased with the work and highly recommend this company, especially Carrie and Ben!

We had a water pipe break on the second floor of our home. There was major water damage upstairs as well as downstairs due to no one being there for a day. Once we called Master Dry they came out almost immediately and started the process. The removed all the necessary items, such as cabinetry, flooring, drywall, etc. Their major goal was to save the structure of the home. They were there for approximately ten days with their dryers and dehumidifiers They worked along with my insurance company and myself. Wonderful crew explaining everything they were doing during the process to save the structure and foundation of the home.
