Description of Work: We are new to the area and needed a storage shed. We paid John Bartley of American Amish Shed in Martinsburg, WV, for a custom built shed in October 2012. Delivery of the shed was promised in 4-6 weeks. Shed was NEVER delivered; we've yet to see a shed on our properly. After our check was cashed (within 3 days) we had to hound John Bartley to even get a phone call returned. He never responded until legal action was threatened. A complaint was filed with the BBB and the WV State Attorney's General Office of WV, but nothing has been resolved to date (April 2013). Basically, John Bartley stole our $$ (to the tune of several thousands of dollars) and ran with it. In Febuary 2013 I went to see John Bartley myself. He explained that he has had "hard times" and that he had to use our money to pay his business expenses. He did not know if or when we'd ever receive a shed. He was "sorry". We also contacted the Sheriff's office in Martinsburg who advised that they have received 6 other such complaints for the same person/company in the past year. You've got to be kidding me .... this is how businesses are allowed to operate in WV? In my opinion this is about 6 complaints too many for this man to have been allowed to continue in business stealing the money from hard working invidiuals to use for his own benefit. Our next avenue is to persue legal action. Steer clear of John Bartley as a businessman and American Amish Sheds as a company.

Description of Work: Signed a contract to deliver an 8X8 shed within 4-6 weeks on October 15, 2012. It is now January 2013 and he won't return calls or the money. In contacting the local Magistrate they have so many cases against this business they believed he wasn't in business any longer. He is still accepting money.

Description of Work: We ordered a 12x20 shed in April of 2012 with a contract that specified payment in full in advance and delivery within 4 to 6 weeks. It is now the end of September and we never received a shed or a refund which we asked for.
