I contracted with Lowe's to install a chain link fence on a house I was purchasing in WV. I c ould not be at the jobsite as I was living in NY preparing to move. I explained in great detail to both the Lowe's representative and the installer exactly what I wanted, walked off the area with both of them and had our City Inspector present to go over the do's and don'ts of my city's regs. When installation began, the inspector came to the job site and saw that they were setting posts WAY off the plan. He then called me in NY and i contacted Lowes Burlington OH store (who was in charge of this) and also the sales representative. The installers ripped up the wrong posts and re-installed them in their proper place, leaving me with holes and bare spots from their mistake. My sole purpose for the fence was to protect my dogs and this was explained over and over and over to the people in charge. On moving day, when i arrived from a 9 hour drive from NY to WV, within five minutes my dogs had figured out they could easily push the fence and walk under it (they are beagles). The quality of the fence was so flimsy and loosley stretched that it was a total waste of $2,300. The installers returned, restretched the fence and put a few "clips" around the bottom. This helped only where the few clips were installed -- rest of the yard was wide open. I spoke to the sales representative about the poor quality of the chain link and he then told me heavier gauges were available. I did not know in advance what "gauge" was or that a choice was available. My overall experience with this fiasco was I got a poor quality product and even worse installation. I do not believe Lowe's stood behind their work or merchandise and i would encourage anyone considering them for a fence job to look elsewhere.
