The snow plow they sold me was worthless. I told them I knew next to nothing about plows and asked repeatedly over the phone if this was a good usable snow plow before driving all the way to Keyser, WV (2 hrs). I was told it had a "little rust" but was totally functional. I asked if they could mount it on my truck as they are a Hinaker snow plow dealer, but was told they do not do that work and I would have to take it elsewhere. When I picked up the plow I questioned them about the amount of rust and the condition of the plow and they said it showed a lot of rust because Curtis (plow manufacturer) did not undercoat their plows. They told me it had been "hardly used at all." I drove it home and took it to a local dealer in snow plows. Service manager took one look and said his company would not mount it as it had at least 1/8" metal rust flakes coming off the plow and mount. Additionally the wiring was broken, one of the pins had broken off in its receptor socket and I would have to buy new wiring harnesses, about $400-600. The manager told me that in the condition the plow was in they should not have charged more than $500.00 for the plow. Charles Doll called and told me they lost my check prior to my taking it to the dealer. I canceled the check to the tune of $36.00 and mailed another check. They did take back the plow and return my checks (they had both) but I had to drive 2 hours to Keyser again. They offered no apology and did not refund my $36.00 that it cost me for their mistake in losing my original check. In fact they tried to tell me that the company I took the plow to was unscrupulous and only trying to keep them out of competition with the service company, they sell plows too. Be VERY cautious in any dealings with this group. I do not know what their landscaping business is like but I would never buy a snow plow or any mechanical equipment from them!
Description of Work: Charles Doll of Doll Landscaping sold me a used snow plow. They say they are Hinaker snow plow dealers but seem to not know much about snow plows!
