 + -1 moreWe had struggled to find a company that was even willing to take a look at the project because it was a relatively small one. I saw Mr. Beaver's company on Angie's List and contacted him. He returned my call quickly and we set up a time for an estimate. He came to our home, took a look, explained what he would do, gave me a price and said he would let me know when he could do the work. That call came just a couple of weeks later and he and his crew ended up doing the work the next day in a matter of hours. I really appreciate his professionalism. We have plans to contact him for more masonry work in the future.
Description of Work: We had a small portion of the brick wall under our carport opened up for access. Mr. Beaver and his team cut through the brick and through the cinder block behind it and reinforced the area with a beam.

 + -1 moreThe job was done professionally, and he and his crew were a pleasure to work with. When I had a question or concern, they would stop and discuss the issue and would resolve it to my satisfaction. They were quite knowledgeable and very willing to work with me all along the process. There were times when we had to make running changes, and they made helpful suggestions and were cheerful and always willing to do whatever was needed to make me satisfied. There were questions with how to make the step and have it look nice and integrated with the walkway, and they came up with a great idea to assist in that. The final product was excellent, and neighbors have commented on the beautiful result. When weather created a problem, they worked around it. Because of weather the project took an extra day. Since the pattern was a 45 degree herringbone, and in a curved walkway, there was a great deal of cutting of material necessary to set the pieces into the pattern. Throughout the process they were always concerned that the job be done correctly and to my satisfaction. They were a pleasure to work with. I can't imagine turning anywhere else for my masonry needs in the future.
Description of Work: We had a new walkway (approximately 30 feet long, six feet wide) set down after a new concrete footer had been installed, between the driveway and the front porch. The walkway was curved, and the combination of aggregate and old tumbled bricks could not be replicated, so we had to come up with a new pattern of materials and design to integrate with the existing driveway and porch. Rhodes Brick and Block recommended Troy Beaver (HBG Masonry) as one of three highly recommended brick and block masons who could do this type of job. Mr. Beaver came out when he said, we discussed the job at length, he had some very helpful suggestions as to materials, patterns and the step necessary between the walkway and the porch and gave me a price. I had been given a ball park by the brick and block company (percentages based upon cost of material) and the price was right in the ballpark. Given that this would take three days and he and his crew were coming from an hour away to do the job, I felt that the price was quite fair. The job required preparing the concrete footer for the work, re-setting some brick that had been removed from the edge of the driveway and laying the complex pattern of concrete pavers and brick pavers in mortar, then making the step. He returned the following week to acid clean the walkway.
