Plumbing Helper

After setting an appointment for last Thursday and being informed that someone would call between 9-10 AM to let me know what time he would be here, no one called. I called the company at 10:30 and was informed that an appt scheduled earlier than mine was going a little long and someone would call within an hour. At noon I called again and was given a different excuse but was promised that someone would be there within 2 hours. Again, at 2:30 after no one called, I again called and was told that a truck had broken down but someone would still be there that day. After 5 pm, (when they close), I called again and got the answering service. No one ever called or showed up. On Friday morning I called to find out why no one had bothered to call and was informed that the person I was talking to was unaware that we had not been serviced. He said the plumber assigned had said he had contacted us. A LIE. The manager apologized and promised yet again that someone would be there that day. I reminded him that no one was home except on Thursday but he assured me that someone would be there after 6 after we got home. My roommate came home a little early and we called to let them know that someone was there and they could come after 4 pm. The plumber assigned called and tried to change the day for coming since he didn't know what to bring. (How would he know without looking first?) I insisted and he showed up....not happy to have to be there. He tried again to exit without performing any service. My roommate showed him that we already had the repair parts for the toilet and he reluctantly repaired it. All the parts were with the Faucet and he could have installed it, however he said he needed some "extenders" and left. I called the answering service and left a message at how disappointed we were. The plumber called back in about 10 minutes and said he would be here on this Tuesday to complete the job AFTER 6 PM and promised that it would happen. I INSTALLED THE FAUCET MYSELF THAT NIGHT WITHOUT ANY OTHER PARTS NEEDED. On Tuesday, I called to verify that someone would still be there after 6 PM since we had for the 3rd time re-arranged our schedules to make sure someone was going to be home and I was told by whoever answered the phone that they could not be there and would have to re-schedule. I said if they could not be there that night, to forget it an I would find someone more reputable to finish. I haven't heard from them since. Thankfully, we did not pay for anything yet. I will definitely NOT recommend this company and will tell everyone I know about how unprofessional they are, not even having the professionalism to call me but every call but one had to be initiated by me. As a further insult, the toilet he repaired now leaks into the floor.

The plumber came and told me that the faucet is a very old model, so he was unable to find the part. The only way to solve the problem was to plug the faucet and shower head for now. He charged me $25 for the visit. What a deal it was, wasn't it? He also told me in order to solve the problem, I can call the company again and the estimate would be about $650 to replace the shower unit. According to his plan, there will be a hole cut through the wall behind the shower faucet/head and he will not be responsible for the hole after the work. Until today, I called my home warranty company to see if the problem can be fixed. Their contracted plumber came and told me not only the "discontinuing" part is available (an easy task), but also the previous plumber took a part of the faucet with him during the visit. Because of the missing part, my home warranty claim was declined and I would have to pay out of packet to fix the problem. This whole experience has made me not trust this company any more.

Within two hours of calling, he showed up and fixed the problem and explained why and how the problem happened. Very good experience with this company.

Prompt service and attention and efficient repair.

Josh was polite and prompt. I had to cancel the original appointment (set for Friday). He called Monday morning and arrived within the time he gave me. Throughout his work he clearly explained what had to be done to fix my three small problems. He also double checked everything and went out of his way to find a replacement faucet for my basement laundry sink. He also gave me a 6 month guarantee on all his connections. I felt that I definitely got my money's worth and would not hesitate to contact him again.

They are good and they are nice, so we haven’t had any problem with them. They take care of our problem every time. He did a good job, very quick. He needed a part and went and got it and came back quickly and finished the job. When we called them, we didn’t have to wait for them to come out.

Plumbing Helper was the only one that I felt was very reasonable. Other companies said that the job was too small. They were here when they said they would be and they got the job done in a timely manner and we didn’t have any problems with it. We have had some problems with the hot water tank but that didn’t have anything to do with them. For quality of service they were not perfect. I don’t think there was ever a perfect job, but they did a good job. As for punctuality, they were here exactly when they said they were going to be. They were very good about coming down and giving me an estimate and starting the work.
