Actually a neighbor of mine was having an addition built onto his house and he had four big trees in his yard he needed removed. Two maples and two sycamores. All were big tall trees. His next door neighbor is my back yard neighbor. My back door neighbor and I each had a huge sycamore in our back yards that we had talked about for years that we'd like to have removed, but we had never really got serious about it probably because of the obvious high cost to have that done. When Mayo showed up in the other neighbor's yard and started removing his four trees, we saw what a great job they were doing. Fast and a great cleanup too. Mayo has all the equipment and manpower to do the job right and fast. The big boom truck, the big mulcher for the limbs, a big truck for the tree trunks, a truck that catches the mulch and hauls it away, then the stump grinder. He has all the manpower necessary to preform all the duties to do all these individual jobs continuously. Everyone knew his job and they worked together like a team. Quite impressive. I watched them do the tree removal for a couple hours, then my back yard neighbor showed up. He to was impressed with the work of the Mayo crew. We talked about while Mayo was here, if he had the time, why not us go ahead and have our big sycamores removed. I found out which man Mr.Mayo was, and we talked about him doing the job for us. He could do it the next work day. This was Saturday and they could be back here Monday. They'd leave the equipment on site. Although I thought the price was a bit high since the equipment was already here, we agreed on the cost and I was more than happy they did the removal for us. It was amazing to me how fast the old sycamore in my yard was gone after they started. Trunk, roots, and all the leafs and everything. No cleanup of anything left for me to do after they were done. Mr.Mayo is a nice man and interesting to talk to as well. So, in the end, you get what you pay for. I was happy with their work and the cost of it. Lesson learned by me since this tree removal job. This spring, March of 2012, I had another big maple tree near my house removed by a different tree service. They were slower, had older equipment, even had to rent some. Their cleanup was terrible, and their stump removal was half done, if that. Overall, instead of saving me money, it ended up costing me more. And me doing some of the work. These guys were from the west side of Huntington WV. They did a smaller job for a brother of mine, and he recommended them to me. My job was bigger, and more complex. I'll never use RLH again. I got scammed. Always use someone with lots of recommendations. One isn't enough. I was stupid not to call Mr.Mayo for this job too. I will the next time.
Description of Work: Removed a huge sycamore tree and it's stump and roots. Also, they did five other trees for my nearby neighbors.

It was amazing to watch them. They came in with a crane and lifted the huge trees up and cut them off at the base. It was kind of a balletic and beautiful stuff to watch. They had to get the crane close enough up in the yard, and they hooked it to the tree, lifted the tree, and cut the base away. Then, they cut pieces off it and when they were done with the crane, they laid everything in the truck and hauled it out of here. The price averaged about $1500-$1600 a piece. I have had trees done before while I was in Georgia, which were big old pine trees which were cut down and allowed to fall, and they cost me $500, but these guys were lifting it up and not causing any damage to the house or property. I would use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: We used the services of Mayo Tree Company as we had to have about 6 very large trees taken down over a period of three years that averaged at about two trees a year. Two were right up against the foundation, so they had to come down. The last tree that we had taken down was probably a year ago with the first one being taken down in early 2010.
