Description of Work: Needed gutters installed on my home. Had great difficulty getting a contractor to respond and provide an estimate. I normally dislike giving my businesss to big box stores but I contacted Lowes as a last resort. It required a phone call, online request, and trip to store but once inital contact was established they were very responsive. Only problem was some confusion over scheduling. This appeared to be a disconnect between the independent contractor and the store. The installer (independent contractor) arrived on time on scheduled date and completed the work expeditiously. Very professional. The only other thing I did not like is that Lowes required full payment at contract signing about one month prior to work being performed. Lowes stated contractor would not be paid until work completed to my satisfaction but I don't find that a convincing rationale for their policy. When the IC is paid is between Lowes and the IC. I am contracting with Lowes for the job and do not believe I should have to pay them in full a month before the job. Had I been able to find another contractor this would have been a deal breaker for me. In the end though I am very satisfied with the work.

"WONDERFUL!!" Mr Moreno of Lowes, Clarksburg WV Store coordinated everything on my behalf, sending to my home all building materials for the project, scheduling the Contractor, etc.. The Contractor and his team arrived around 12 noon and set out to work ASAP. Carl, whom was in charge of the Contractor Team, did point out to me a couple changes to my design to ensure a good stout Deck, which I concurred. Throughout the project, the team worked.. and at times, would stop to ask me for my input. I liked that. This team even finished off all ends very nicely! Their work matched the work I have obtained from the Amish builders in the past. Once the new Deck was completed, it was "EXACTLY" what I had in mind! And only took about 7 hours to complete. Carl, the Lowes of Clarksburg WV Contractor built me EXACTLY what I wanted! His team also cleaned up the work area of any waste. I can HIGHLY recommend the "Lowes Store of Clarksburg WV as well as their WV Licensed Contractor ~ Carl and his team" to anyone! Wonderful work!
Description of Work: Mr. Jose Moreno at the Lowes of Clarksburg WV, Telephone 304.624.7071 provided the Lumber and Hardware materials. Lowes of Clarksburg WV also provided their WV Licensed Contractors ~ Carl and his team, to come to my home and build the New Deck System that I had designed.

Installers arrived on time for both the measurement appointment and the install appointment. Installers worked quickly and quietly (well, as quietly as you can work a carpet install!). Did not waste time chatting, needing to use phone, etc. Just got the job done. There was no loud music, no bad language, shouting back and forth etc. I thought the team was very professional in their behavior and the quality of their work was also excellent. They did a pretty good job of cleaning up after themselves, leaving only a large scrap of carpet that they asked if I wanted to have. All the small scraps and old carpet were taken with them. They vacuumed the new carpet before they left. They did leave a few bits of debris -- stray fibers and such in the hardwood entry they had to pass through, but other than that, you never would have guessed that they had been there -- except for the new carpet looking a thousand times nicer than the old one did! Quality of install was something that I worried about beforehand but it turned out to be great. They did a fine job with fitting the carpet around the walls and in the closet -- no loose edges or sloppy fitting. There is a seam; I know there is because I chose carpet that was smaller than the room -- but it is extremely difficult to see. I chose Lowe's almost by accident -- I was walking through Lowe's and saw the carpet on sale and before I knew it, I had schedule the measurement visit. I figured I was throwing away $35.00 because I would end up buying my carpet somewhere else. But I was impressed with the installer's promptness despite snowy roads when he came to measure and so I went ahead and bought the carpet from Lowe's. If I need more carpet, I would definitely consider using them again.
Description of Work: Installer measured room prior to carpet install, then removed old carpet and pad and installed new pad and carpet in their place.

So basically, no service has been performed. My power washer is sitting somewhere in the Emily Drive Lowes Home Improvement Warehouse in Clarksburg, West Virginia. When I bought the Extended Warranty I was under the impression if it broke Lowes would fix it or replace it. So not happening.I already had it taken to one repair shop they reccomended, and the owner told me to get it out of there, he would not look at it, and said to tell Lowe's, again, not to send any more customers to him. He wouldn't eloborate why, just said he was busy. Lowes didn't want us to leave it there, just accepted it, we think, to get us out of the store and away from new customers.
Description of Work: Purchased a Power Washer at the Local Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse and they also reccomended a 3 Year Extended Warranty which I accepted on Sept. 6, 2009. I was told the warranty started after a one year company warranty expired, or otherwise I would be covered for 4 years. I don't remember anyone telling me I would be responsible to get the Power Washer to a repair center within 100 miles or so of my home! Being homebound I never agree to go anywhere. End of July 2011 we contacted the Service Advantage and was given bad news that we probably weren't covered for the Washer spraying water out, just the engine. July 25, 2011 I hired a neighbor to take the Power Washer to a repair center in Weston per their instruction and when He arrived he was told not to leave the Power Washer there and tell Lowe's not to send anymore repairs to him. I went to Lowe's and told them.After much aggravation, the local Lowe's agreed to let us leave the Power Washer there and they would try to get someone to look at it. August 4, 2011 I called the Service Advantage again and was told I could take it to Weston, reminded her of the previous conversation about Weston and she started reccomended Centers in places of West Virginia I never heard of. I reminded her about our homebound status and how I didn't think the Service Advantage was worth anything, and summer was coming to a close and we didn't have a Power Washer to use, etc., and that I was going to post on Angie's List. She said she was sorry for my situation, but nothing she could do and she would have someone else contact me within 24 hours. Pretty much, goodby.
